Juventus extend Adidas partnership to 2037 in $468 million deal

Egypt Todaya day ago

(Reuters) - Juventus have extended their technical partnership with German sportswear giant Adidas until June 2037, in a deal worth 408 million euros ($468 million) over a decade, the Serie A club said in a statement.
The current agreement between the two parties, which runs until June 2027, will remain unchanged, the Italian club said.
The new contract will then take effect from the 2027-2028 season and cover all Juventus teams until the end of the 2036-2037 season.
"This renewal fills us with pride and testifies to the synergy between these two great companies," said Maurizio Scanavino, Juventus Chief Executive Officer.
Juventus, famed for their black and white shirts, said the valuation for the new agreement does not include additional royalties for exceeding certain sales volumes or variable components linked to sporting results.
"We're delighted to extend our partnership with the most decorated club in Italian football for a further 10 years," said Sam Handy, General Manager of Adidas Football. Juventus have won the Italian league title more than any other rival club.
Juventus and Adidas joined forces from the 2015/2016 season.
The German sportswear group has a long-term partnership in place with English Premier League club Manchester United which runs until 2035, and also works with other teams including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Juventus said last month that U.S. carmaker Jeep will pay 69 million euros to become its main shirt sponsor until June 2028.

EGPC & Petrobel Begin Production at Zohr 6 Gas Field

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and Petrobel have started production at the Zohr 6 field, targeting 40–50 million cubic feet of gas per day to help stabilise Egypt's energy supply. Jun 20, 2025 The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Petrobel have begun natural gas production from the Zohr 6 field in the Mediterranean Sea, with initial output estimated between 40 and 50 million cubic feet per day starting in June. The new production comes as part of a broader strategy to increase domestic gas supply and reduce reliance on imports, particularly for electricity generation and industrial Zohr 6 field was prepared for operation following the arrival of a drilling vessel in January and the completion of key water leakage mitigation procedures, including chemical injection and well isolation measures designed to ensure production remains central to Egypt's long-term energy strategy. Since the start of its development with Italian energy giant Eni, the field has attracted total investments of approximately USD 39 billion, with USD 13.5 billion specifically allocated to field development. Current production from the Zohr field ranges between 1.1 and 1.2 billion cubic feet per day, accounting for around 30% of Egypt's total natural gas launch of Zohr 6 aligns with ongoing offshore exploration and drilling activity in the Mediterranean. Between July 2024 and May 2025, eight new wells were drilled and another eight evaluated across various offshore blocks. Five new gas discoveries were made during the current fiscal year, which are expected to feed into Egypt's medium-term energy declining output from mature fields has prompted Egypt to import around 1.6 billion cubic feet of gas per day through LNG shipments and regional pipelines, currently meeting 25 to 30% of the country's overall gas demand. The new output from Zohr 6 is part of efforts to reduce that reliance and stabilise domestic energy availability.

Iran Maintains Oil Exports during Conflict with Israel

Taarek Refaat As tensions between Iran and Israel escalate into direct military confrontation, Tehran is quietly repositioning its oil export strategy to protect a crucial revenue stream and navigate tightening U.S. sanctions. According to two ship-tracking firms that spoke with Reuters, Iran is continuing to export crude oil largely unabated, using a "shadow fleet" of tankers and adapting its loading operations to minimize risk. While missile exchanges between the two adversaries have targeted strategic energy infrastructure — including Israel's Haifa oil refinery and Iran's South Pars gas field — Iran's main crude terminal on Kharg Island remains intact. Recent data from energy analytics firm Kpler shows that Iran has loaded 2.2 million barrels of crude per day so far this week, the highest volume in over a month. The loading operations have shifted exclusively to the island's eastern jetty, a move seen as a precaution amid ongoing hostilities. Floating storage allows Iran to respond quickly to market demand and sidestep sanctions enforcement by disguising cargo origins or swapping cargo at sea. This flexibility becomes even more valuable during wartime or geopolitical instability. Despite the reimposed U.S. sanctions — and additional restrictions targeting Chinese refiners since March — Iranian oil exports have remained resilient. The International Energy Agency (IEA) reported on Tuesday that exports have held steady at around 1.7 million barrels per day throughout 2025. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Jorginho gunning for old side Chelsea with Flamengo at Club World Cup

The 33-year-old Italy midfielder returned to the country of his birth earlier this month when he joined Rio de Janeiro powerhouses Flamengo on a three-year contract. That ended a long career in Europe, which began in Italy -- the land of his paternal great-grandfather -- 15 years ago and saw him star in Serie A for Hellas Verona and Napoli before a move to Chelsea in 2018. He made more than 200 appearances for the Stamford Bridge side, helping them win the Europa League in 2019 and Champions League in 2021. "It is nice to come up against a former team, and see old friends," Jorginho told reporters this week in Philadelphia, where Chelsea and Flamengo will meet at FIFA's new tournament. The two clubs are jostling for supremacy in Group D after both won their opening matches on Monday, with Flamengo defeating Esperance while Chelsea overcame Los Angeles FC. "I am ready to help in any way I can, on or off the field. It will be a really difficult game. We know how good a team they are and we will have to be prepared for it." Jorginho, who spent the last two and a half years at Arsenal, has joined a Flamengo side who are top of the Brazilian league and through to the knockout phase of the Copa Libertadores, a competition they last won in 2022. He will have to wait until next month to run out for his new team at the legendary Maracana in Rio, but his debut for Flamengo came in their 2-0 victory over Tunisian side Esperance in their opening Club World Cup game at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday. "I have not yet had the chance to play at the Maracana and I can't wait for that but I think it was a good debut for the whole team. The fans were right behind us as always. It has been easy for me to adapt and settle in," he said. Jorginho is working under another former Chelsea player in Filipe Luis, the 39-year-old who took over as coach late last year. Flamengo have real ambitions of making a big impact at the Club World Cup, with their experienced squad also featuring the likes of Danilo and Alex Sandro, two Brazilian international defenders who returned home after spells in Europe. Midfielder Gerson, striker Pedro, Chile's Erick Pulgar and Uruguay's Giorgian de Arrascaeta are others who add knowledge of top-level international football in South America. Flamengo are hoping to extend the impressive unbeaten record so far at the tournament for the six South American representatives -- four from Brazil and two from Argentina. "It is an important competition and those of us who are playing in it are privileged," said Jorginho, who has appeared over 50 times for Italy but grew up in Imbituba, a port town in southern Brazil. He believes his new team can go far at the competition, with Friday's game being followed by a meeting with Los Angeles FC in Orlando next Tuesday. Bayern Munich, Benfica and Boca Juniors are possible opponents in the last 16 if they make it through to the knockout phase. "I believe we have a chance of winning if we keep faith in our squad and in the work we are doing. Brazilian teams don't usually get to play against European teams and everyone is eager to see Flamengo compete."
