Iran Maintains Oil Exports during Conflict with Israel

As tensions between Iran and Israel escalate into direct military confrontation, Tehran is quietly repositioning its oil export strategy to protect a crucial revenue stream and navigate tightening U.S. sanctions.
According to two ship-tracking firms that spoke with Reuters, Iran is continuing to export crude oil largely unabated, using a "shadow fleet" of tankers and adapting its loading operations to minimize risk. While missile exchanges between the two adversaries have targeted strategic energy infrastructure — including Israel's Haifa oil refinery and Iran's South Pars gas field — Iran's main crude terminal on Kharg Island remains intact.
Recent data from energy analytics firm Kpler shows that Iran has loaded 2.2 million barrels of crude per day so far this week, the highest volume in over a month. The loading operations have shifted exclusively to the island's eastern jetty, a move seen as a precaution amid ongoing hostilities.
Floating storage allows Iran to respond quickly to market demand and sidestep sanctions enforcement by disguising cargo origins or swapping cargo at sea. This flexibility becomes even more valuable during wartime or geopolitical instability.
Despite the reimposed U.S. sanctions — and additional restrictions targeting Chinese refiners since March — Iranian oil exports have remained resilient. The International Energy Agency (IEA) reported on Tuesday that exports have held steady at around 1.7 million barrels per day throughout 2025.

Iran Launches 3 Missiles toward Dimona Nuclear Plant in Israel
Taarek Refaat Three missiles are heading toward the Dimona reactor in southern Israel as part of the latest wave of Iranian attacks on Israeli territory, according to El Qahera News, citing Iranian media. Also, the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen TV channel reported that Iran launched a hypersonic missile targeting Israel's Dimona nuclear facility and a major defense headquarters. If confirmed, this alleged strike would represent a significant escalation in regional tensions, raising fears of a wider conflict. Israeli media reported on Friday that the latest wave of Iranian attacks targeting sites in southern Israel has resulted in 18 injuries so far. Social media accounts circulated a video clip of a building in Beersheba, southern Israel, believed to belong to Microsoft, surrounded by smoke after being hit by an Iranian missile on Friday morning. On the other hand, Iranian media announced that it had launched a new wave of missiles a short while ago, targeting several sites in southern Israel, specifically in the Negev and Beersheba. On Thursday morning, Iranian missiles went near Soroka Hospital in the Negev and several other sites inside Israel, causing widespread destruction and material damage. The military escalation between Iran and Israel is entering its eighth day. Iranian Missile Falls Near Microsoft Office in Israel
Taarek Refaat Israeli media reported that an Iranian missile fell in the city of Be'er Sheva, injuring 18 people, according to initial reports. The footage showed a Microsoft building, reflecting Tehran's repeated statements about targeting scientific and intelligence centers and headquarters affiliated with or working for the Israeli military. Videos circulated on social media showing fires in the areas where the rockets landed, including Beersheba, Nevatim, and Rahat, in addition to the burning of several cars parked in the area. An Israeli military spokesperson stated: "The IDF identified missile launches from Iran toward Israel a short while ago, and defense systems are working to intercept the threat. Citizens should head to protected areas and remain there until further notice." After assessing the situation, the Israeli Home Front Command announced that it was permissible to leave protected areas, noting that search and rescue units were operating at the site of the missile strike, stressing the need for the public to continue following security instructions. In this context, the Israeli military announced, in the early hours of Friday morning, that it had intercepted three Iranian drones en route to Israeli territory, amid escalating military tensions between the two sides. In contrast, former commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Mohsen Rezaei confirmed that Iran has so far launched more than 400 missiles and 600 drones toward Israel as part of ongoing military operations. Rezaei added, in statements reported by Iranian media, that his country has used less than 30% of its actual military capabilities, while the potential use rate is only about 5%. Rezaei revealed the existence of new missile capabilities that will be announced soon, noting that naval and land capabilities have not yet been used in the confrontation.
