Tiranga Urban Park: Heart of the Celebration

n Chandigarh, the central event at Tiranga Urban Park, Sector 17 witnessed over 2,000 citizens joining a mass yoga session led by the Punjab governor and UT administrator Gulab Chand Kataria. He praised yoga as "a people's movement that empowers individuals and strengthens communities," linking it to India's ancient heritage and its contemporary global relevance.
PM's Address Echoes Across Nation
The celebrations included a live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address from Visakhapatnam, where a record 3 lakh participants joined along a 26-km beachfront stretch. PGI Champions Yoga in Healthcare
At PGIMER, Chandigarh, over 3,350 participants—including doctors, faculty, students, and staff—joined hands in celebrating the day under the aegis of its CCRYN Collaborative Centre for Mind-Body Intervention through Yoga. Director Prof. Vivek Lal emphasized yoga as "the synchrony of inner and outer self," highlighting its role in nurturing physical health, mental clarity, and emotional resilience.
Science Meets Tradition at PGI
Certified trainers led the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), scientifically validated by PGI, with sessions also streamed live for residents on hospital duty. PGIMER's Yoga Centre, operating daily, has been integrating yoga therapy into patient care and workplace wellness, covering 19 departments and providing interventions like SMET, DRT, MSRT, and QRT.
The event also marked the launch of a new evidence-based Integrated Approach of Yoga Therapy (IAYT) module for managing chronic low back pain, developed in collaboration with S-VYASA, Bangalore.
Researchers involved in the project were felicitated for advancing yoga-based clinical science.

The day was celebrated at the 12 Wing Air Force Station, Chandigarh. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Vayu Yodhas and their family members. Air Warriors, trained as yoga instructors, led the mass yoga session by following the Common Yoga Protocol. The programme included various yogic kriyas, meditation exercises, sankalpa, prayer, and demonstrations.

In SAS Nagar (Mohali), more than 12,000 individuals performed yoga at 33 locations under the supervision of the District Administration, Ayurveda and Unani Department, and 'CM di Yogshala'.

The district-level event at the Multipurpose Sports Stadium, Sector-78 was attended by key officials including SDM Damandeep Kaur, DSP Harsimran Singh Bal, and Dr.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court also observed the occasion with a dedicated yoga session led by Hon'ble Chief Justice Mr. Justice Sheel Nagu. Judges, lawyers, and court staff participated under the theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health," guided by professional trainers who reiterated yoga's potential for inner balance and stress relief in today's high-pressure world.

A district-level event was held at the Red Bishop Convention Hall in Panchkula.
Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma, the chief guest, actively participated in the session alongside other attendees. In her address, Sharma highlighted yoga as a treasured part of India's cultural heritage that has now gained global recognition.
The event also featured a soul-stirring classical music performance by renowned artist Subhash Ghosh, adding a spiritual dimension to the celebration. Senior BJP leaders and government officers were also present.
Kalka Embraces Yoga As Path To Wellness
In Kalka, the day was celebrated at Government Postgraduate College, led by MLA Shakti Rani Sharma. Addressing the participants, Sharma shared the message 'Yoga removes disease', encouraging everyone to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for improved mental and physical well-being.
Sharma drew parallels with ancient sages who lived healthy lives for over a hundred years through disciplined yoga practice.
The yoga session in Kalka was conducted by Ramphal Jagda's Patanjali yoga team, who also educated attendees about the wide-ranging benefits of regular yoga practice.

Nandyal: As part of the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations, District Collector G Rajakumari emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for better physical and mental well-being. A grand district-level 'Yogandhra' event was held at Tekke Market Yard in Nandyal on Saturday. The event was marked by widespread participation, with officials and citizens joining in synchrony with the national event broadcast live from Visakhapatnam, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu led the proceedings. The Collector, along with MLC Ishaq Basha, District SP Adhiraj Singh Rana, Joint Collector C Vishnucharan, former minister Erasu Prathap Reddy, district officials, public representatives, students, and the general public—totaling over 5,500 participants—performed yoga asanas as per the national protocol. She noted that the State Government's flagship initiative 'Yogandhra' had been actively implemented from May 21 to June 21, during which a variety of yoga-related activities were conducted across 5,500 locations, engaging more than 9 lakh people throughout the district. She extended her gratitude to all participants and acknowledged the role of yoga organisations such as Patanjali, Ramachandra Mission, and Yoga Chaitanya Mandali in providing training at village and mandal levels. She commended the efforts of master trainers, health departments, municipal bodies, and Ayush officials for their consistent work in promoting yoga over the past month. She reiterated that the primary goal of both Central and State Governments is to encourage enthusiastic participation in yoga and build a healthier society. She said the government's vision to transform Andhra Pradesh into a 'Healthy and Wealthy' state is being implemented actively by the district administration. She thanked public representatives, media personnel, and the public for their immense cooperation in making the Yogandhra initiative a success. Tirupati: Practicing Yoga every day not only improves the mental fitness but also brings physical stability in body, asserted the TTD Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary. Following the clarion call given by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and under directives of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu, the International Yoga Day was organised by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams at its Parade Grounds behind the TTD administration building in Tirupati on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Yoga Day is being observed across 190 countries worldwide. He said that with yoga, spiritual, mental, emotional, physical and other factors can be kept under control. TTD employees and students participated in this fete. Meanwhile, the Yoga fete began with 1500 participants in the Parade Grounds after formally offering prayers to Sri Venkateswara Swamy. Later, the Annamacharya Project Special Officer Dr Medasani Mohan elucidated the importance of Yoga in Hindu Sanatana Dharma. An hour-long Yoga Asanas and Pranayama were carried out in a systematic manner as instructed by the Yoga instructors from TTD and also from the ISHA Foundation. Later the officials gave away participant certificates to the students. TTD has arranged 4 LED screens, yoga mats, drinking water bottles, breakfast and t-shirts for the event. TTD board members Panabaka Lakshmi, G Bhanu Prakash Reddy, JEO Veerabraham, CVSO Murali Krishna, HDPP Secretary Sriram Raghunath, DEO Venkata Sunilu, and many other officers, students, Srivari Sevaks were also present.
