Narendra Modi to flag off first locomotive export to Guinea from Bihar on June 20

In a big boost for Indian manufacturing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the first locomotive built in India for export to the Republic of Guinea on June 20, 2025. The engine has been built at the modern railway factory situated in Marhowrah, Bihar, and marks the start of a major export deal between India and a country in to the agreement, India will export 150 top-of-the-line locomotives worth more than Rs 3,000 crore to Guinea over the next three years. The locomotives are being supplied for the SimFer's Simandou iron ore project, one of the largest mining projects in Board official Dilip Kumar explained that 37 locomotives will be supplied in this financial year, 82 in the next financial year, and 31 in the third. All locomotives will have air-conditioned crew cabins, and each will be capable of pulling up to 100 wagons in pairs at the highest allowed speed. The locomotives are newly built with modern safety and comfort features such as:Best-in-class emission standardsFire detection systemsErgonomic cabins with a refrigerator, microwave, and waterless toiletDPWCS (Distributed Power Wireless Control System) for better freight handlingadvertisementTo facilitate such manufacturing, the Marhowrah plant has laid a total of three types of tracks: broad gauge, standard gauge, and cape gauge, which also allows the plant to manufacture locomotives used in various parts of the project for export was won by global competitive bidding, reflecting India's capacity to meet global competitive standards. The officials noted that this deal will lead to job creation, the expansion of local industries, and the transformation of Marhowrah into a global hub for locomotive exports."This is a perfect representation of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) driving global economies," said Dilip Kumar. "We want to see more nations put such orders with Indian companies."The Railway Ministry also added that this export will improve Guinea's infrastructure and strengthen India-Africa ties.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday visited Bihar's Siwan district on Friday and laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects. The PM also addressed a public rally. Modi's visit to Siwan has energised workers of the BJP, which is gearing up for the assembly elections due later this year. The party is relying heavily on the appeal of its most popular leader to boost its prospects in the upcoming elections. To boost infrastructure in the region, the PM will inaugurate the new Vaishali–Deoria railway line project worth over Rs 400 crore and flag off a new train service on this route. Additionally, in a major fillip to connectivity in north Bihar, Modi will also flag off a Vande Bharat Express between Patliputra (Patna) and Gorakhpur via Muzaffarpur and Bettiah. Modi will also flag off a state-of-the-art locomotive, built at the Marhowrah plant, for export to the Republic of Guinea. This is the first export locomotive manufactured in this factory. In line with his commitment to conserve and rejuvenate the river Ganga, the PM will inaugurate six sewage treatment plants (STPs) under the Namami Gange project worth over Rs 1,800 crore, catering to the needs of people in the region. Modi will also lay the foundation stone for water supply and sanitation projects worth over Rs 3,000 crore in various towns across Bihar, aiming to provide clean and safe drinking water to the citizens of multiple towns. He will also lay the foundation stone for 500 MWh battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Bihar. Standalone BESSs are being installed at 15 grid substations in the state, including those in Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Bettiah, and Siwan. The PM will also release the first instalment to more than 53,600 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) in Bihar. He will also hand over keys to a few beneficiaries to mark the Grih Pravesh ceremony of more than 6,600 completed houses under the PMAY-U project.

BHUBANESWAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of multiple projects worth over Rs 18,600 crore to mark the first anniversary of the first BJP government in the state here on Friday. The projects will cover critical sectors including drinking water, irrigation, agriculture and health infrastructure, rural roads and bridges, national highways and a new railway line. He will also flag off new train services extending rail connectivity to Boudh district for the first time. In a major boost to clean energy and sustainable transport, Modi will flag off 100 electric buses under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) system. He will release the Odisha Vision Document anchored around the landmark years of 2036 (when Odisha completes 100 years as India's first linguistic state) and 2047 (when India celebrates 100 years of independence). The vision document outlines an ambitious and future-ready roadmap for inclusive growth. The state has set an ambitious target to become a $500 billion economy by 2036 and $1.5 trillion by 2047. As a tribute to the contribution of eminent personalities of the state, the prime minister will launch the 'Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana' initiative which to transform their birthplaces into living memorials through museums, interpretation centres, statues, libraries and public spaces honouring Odisha's heritage while promoting cultural tourism. Celebrating more than 16.5 lakh Lakhpati Didis as symbols of prosperity and self-reliance, Modi will felicitate women achievers from across the state at the event. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday reviewed the preparations at Janata Maidan, the venue for the grand celebration of the first anniversary of the state government. Expecting a huge turnout of people from across the state, Majhi inspected the entire venue and all arrangements in detail, especially those concerning the prime minister's security aspects. The chief minister directed government officials to ensure that all arrangements are completed without any lapses in view of the PM's visit. State BJP president Manmohan Samal, Works minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, BJP Odisha in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar and co-in-charge Lata Usendi accompanied the chief minister during the inspection. Chief secretary Manoj Ahuja and additional chief secretary Industries Hemant Sharma briefed him about the preparations made for the event.

Speaking to persons ahead of International Yoga Day tomorrow, she said, "Tomorrow I will practice Yoga on the banks of Yamuna... Tomorrow will be celebrated like a festival in many places in Delhi... The Delhi government will celebrate this International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm." Earlier in the day, she said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi made Yoga Day recognised on the world stage in such a way that every country in the world is adopting Yoga with great affection today. Addressing an event at a Yoga, Meditation, and Medical Camp in Delhi's Shalimar Bagh ahead of International Yoga Day tomorrow, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, "PM Modi got Yoga recognised on the world stage in such a way that every country in the world is adopting Yoga with great affection today... India will be able to prosper only if it remains healthy." As India is gearing up to celebrate the 11th International Day of Yoga on June 21, the government is organising a multitude of events nationwide to mark the occasion with "Yoga for One Earth, One Health" as this year's theme. Yoga Sangam, the main event, will orchestrate a synchronised mass yoga demonstration based on the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) at over 1 lakh locations across India on June 21, 2025, from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the national event at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This collective celebration aims to reaffirm our shared commitment to the timeless practice of yoga and its enduring relevance in today's world. This year marks the 11th International Day of Yoga, with the theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health". This theme echoes a vital truth about the interconnectedness of health, sustainability, and the environment, aligning with India's "One Earth, One Family, One Future" vision highlighted during its G20 presidency. The International Day of Yoga 2025 will not just be a one-day observance--it will reflect India's enduring commitment to holistic health, environmental harmony, and global well-being. With "Yoga for One Earth, One Health" as its guiding principle, India continues to lead the world in connecting physical fitness with mindful living.
