Warring EastEnders legends put feud to bed after major news is issued

You might want to sit down before reading on – Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth) made some sort of truce in tonight's EastEnders.
I wouldn't expect it to last, either.
Let's face it, the two women haven't seen eye to eye for almost four decades. After all, Cindy is the one who tore Kathy's golden boy Ian's (Adam Woodyatt) life to shreds on more than one occasion.
There was no joyful reunion between the pair when Cindy miraculously 'returned from the dead' in 2023, revealing that she had spent 25 years in witness protection.
Kathy even warned Ian on numerous occasions that his apparently devoted partner would cheat on him again, and her suspicions went into fruition when Cindy hopped into bed with her former step-son Junior Knight (Micah Balfour).
Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) decided to expose the affair on Christmas Day, also revealing that the mother-in-law from hell had been supplying her with drugs throughout her pregnancy.
To cut a long story short, Kathy then picked up a snow shovel and whacked Cindy around the head with it.

In a dramatic confrontation, Cindy learned her attacker's identity, shot Ian, and then pushed him towards a car that would go on to cause an explosion to ignite from within The Queen Vic pub.
A shamed Cindy then fled the area, and upon her return, wanted revenge. She demanded that Kathy and Ian hand over their home and businesses to her, and eventually got her hands on The Prince Albert bar.
But her revenge plan didn't stop there – she then played a video of Kathy kissing Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) in front of everyone.
In tonight's episode, they came face to face once again during Lauren's hour of need.
She had rushed her newborn baby Jimmy to the hospital, noticing that there was something strange with his eyesight. With Ian and Peter (Thomas Law) also heading there, youngster Louie (Jake McNally) had been left in Kathy's care.

As he tucked into his chicken nuggets, Cindy swanned in and demanded some time with her grandson.
Kathy was uncertain, but given the circumstances, she wasn't in the mood to argue. The two then kept vigil, anxiously awaiting for an update.
Ian then called and broke some heartbreaking news – Jimmy's eyes haven't formed properly, and he will be visually impaired for the rest of his life.
Suddenly, the animosity disappeared between Cindy and Kathy. As tears filled their eyes, they leaned onto one another for support.
But for Cindy, is this a guilty conscience? Was she responsible – indirectly – for causing Jimmy's blindness?

Legendary BBC presenter quietly bows out after almost 50 years of TV hosting

BBC and ITV sports presenting icon Steve Ryder gave his last broadcast on Sunday as he presented the British Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park for ITV4 Sports presenter Steve Ryder has announced his retirement from broadcasting after an impressive 48-year career. The 75-year-old covered major sporting fixtures for both the BBC and ITV over the course of his time on the air. On Sunday, the star was broadcasting from the British Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park in Cheshire when he revealed he would be hanging up his microphone. He was covering the event for ITV4 when he announced the news of his departure from the screen. ‌ A montage of clips was then shared showing drivers including Lando Norris, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, Jenson Button and David Coulthard all bidding farewell to the broadcaster. Over the years, he has hosted Sportsnight and Sports Personality of the Year, as well as the BBC's coverage of every Olympic Games between 1988 and 2004. ‌ He departed the BBC in 2005 and joined ITV where he presented coverage of Formula One, as well as the football and rugby World Cups. His final appearance proved to be a muted exit, but he has previously explained why he decided the time had come to quit. He told the Daily Mail: "The biggest emotion as you get into the last two minutes of something like that is, 'For God's sake, don't c**k it up.' "Because you'd be thinking about that for the next 20 years. I've probably outstayed my welcome. I've been hugely lucky with the places that the career has taken me. Away from sport, Steve also won praise for being open about a battle against prostate cancer after he was diagnosed with the disease in October 2023. He underwent emergency surgery which stopped the cancer from spreading. He previously told BBC Breakfast: "They took one look and said, 'We're going to operate in two weeks'. "No messing around. We did Brands Hatch for ITV on the Sunday and I had the operation on the Thursday. So it slotted into the schedule quite nicely!"

He said: 'A s a dad, it's been very difficult, I've found it very hard to understand. ‌ "I've spent 62 years enjoying eating and it's very hard not to say 'Just eat, it's easy'." He also reflected on the progress his daughter made, admitting she's 'come through this on her own'. But Phillip candidly admitted his family are not out of the woods yet, and there are still tough situations to navigate. He added: 'Christmas a very difficult time of year because people suffering with anorexia get booze and food shoved at them - and that's very hard to deal with." Phillip's daughter first stepped into the public spotlight with her journey back in 2020 when she took to social media to post a comparison image of herself. In one of the pictures, she was at the height of the devastating illness, and in the second recent snap, she looked happier and healthier and working towards healing, as reports Devon Live. ‌ Brave Clementine aimed to empower others with her words, and said: "Never think you can't escape." She then went on to detail her battles with anorexia and bulimia, explaining she thinks the catalyst was the end of a significant relationship. She believes the internal turmoil led to feeling disassociated from her life. She disclosed that in 2011, she made herself vomit 'about eight times' on New Year's Eve, waking up on New Year's Day "full of shame and utter self loathing". I will always talk about eating disorders, and I'll always be honest. I don't post things like this for any praise or anything like that but to show others that you can get your life back." ‌ She said she is now committed to raising awareness about eating disorders. She went on: "I will always talk about eating disorders, and I'll always be honest. I don't post things like this for any praise or anything like that but to show others that you can get your life back. And also because I genuinely believe EDs are still very misunderstood and that kills me a bit. 'This is a hard time to go through, especially if you have an eating disorder but know that there can be life on the other side. And know that you really are strong enough to get there."
