Emmerdale's Cain broken and bereft as more sad news hits the Dingles

As if he hasn't got enough going on, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) received even more bad news in tonight's episode of Emmerdale. After learning that Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) had been killed and thrown in a lake, Cain has tried to process his grief, but he's been regularly interrupted by Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh). Following the fight Cain and Nate had before he died, Tracy has now decided Cain killed his own son, and won't give the theory up. Yesterday, Cain arrived in the shop to speak with Tracy about Nate's funeral. He wanted to know what her plans were, but she said they involved not inviting him to the event. Cain was devastated. He tried to make himself feel better by judging Eric's (Chris Chittell) relationship with his own son, but the shop owner hit back and said that his son is alive, unlike Cain's. Eric knew that Cain was lashing out because he couldn't deal with the fact Nate died hating him. The comments made Cain tearful, it was obvious that Eric was right. Cain found solace in a bottle of Zak's homemade whisky, but then drank even more courtesy of John (Oliver Farnworth). He was looking for a high and needed to save someone, so he forced Cain to drink so much he passed out. Moira (Natalie J Robb) returned home just as John was putting Cain in the recovery position. He set him up with a drip, and told Moira that Cain just needs rest. Cain didn't leave the sofa in tonight's episode as he dealt with a hellish hangover. As a result, he got Sarah (Katie Hill) to sort the work that needed doing at the garage. When Charity (Emma Atkins) found out, she was annoyed at Cain. Charity now knows that Sarah has cancer, and knew she should be resting rather than doing her job. More Trending Charity marched over to Butlers and told Cain that Sarah wouldn't be at work for the foreseeable. He obviously wanted to know why and eventually, Charity revealed to him and Moira that Sarah has cancer…despite telling her granddaughter that she wouldn't tell them. The news hit Cain like a tonne of bricks. In the past few weeks alone, he's been told that his son is dead, his daughter Debbie (Charley Webb) moved to Australia without even telling him, and now his granddaughter has been diagnosed with cancer. Moira tried to comfort Cain, but it's certainly going to take him a little while to get his head around all of the upsetting news that keeps being thrown at him. Natalie Cassidy slams 'disgusting and disgraceful' fake news story

Former EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy has slammed a 'disgusting and disgraceful' fake news story that claimed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. The actress, 42, bowed out of her Sonia Fowler role in April following a huge storyline that saw the character wrongly imprisoned for murder. Alongside sister Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) and daughters Bex (Jasmine Armfield) and Julia, they drove off into the sunset for a fresh start on the other side of the world. In the days leading up to her exit, Son's abusive, estranged father Terry Cant (Glen Davies) arrived in Walford to make amends with her, but his true colours soon shone through. After an altercation, the women locked him in their garage before jumping in his hire car and darting off. Towed along in his speed boat, Bianca and Sonia waved on to their adoring neighbours. Natalie has since gone on to host a new consumer series for Channel 4, and will front a documentary for the BBC about training to be a carer. Taking to Instagram yesterday, she alerted her 531,000 followers to a sick hoax that made out she was living with cancer. A screenshot from Facebook read: 'Natalie Cassidy Breaks Down as She Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis: 'I Didn't Want Anyone to Know…' ….. See Details in Comment.' This was accompanied by two pictures of her in character on the EastEnders set. Slamming the vile claims, she wrote: 'THIS IS DISGUSTING AND DISGRACEFUL.' 'So many people are going through this and I have had messages asking if I'm ok. 'It is completely made up and a terrible story. Take this down whoever you are.' Nat's fury comes just days after Emmerdale legend Lisa Riley was forced to record a video, telling her fans not to believe artificial intelligence bots that are pretending to be her. More Trending 'If something is not on my page – and my page is blue-ticked – then it is not real,' she stated, referencing the social media network's notable person verification system. 'It is AI pretending to be me, and there is nothing I can do about it. It's a hoax, it's a scam and it's a lie. 'So please, I'm begging you, don't click on it, don't believe it, don't read it, don't give it any attention. It's not true.' Passion confirmed for Steve and Cassie in Corrie - but a twist follows

Coronation Street couple Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) have tried to keep their hands off each other on numerous occasions in the past, but they keep being drawn back together. This has been tricky in the past, mainly because Cassie isn't the most popular person in the Barlow family. Face it, if you want to ingratiate yourself with a family, do not drug the patriarch's tea. Cassie and Steve realised they were attracted to each other in the aftermath of Tracy (Kate Ford) dumping Steve in favour of former football legend Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn). Even though Tommy turned out to be more interested in football than Tracy and she soon ended up back in Weatherfield, she was perfectly clear that this didn't mean a reconciliation with Steve was on the cards. 'I think Tracy's quite happy to be out of the relationship with Steve because she just got so bored of him,' Kate Ford summarised. 'I think she's just happy with Steve being Amy's dad and keeping him in the friend zone.' Moving swiftly out of the friend zone and into Steve's affections was Cassie, then employed as a carer for Ken (William Roache), who'd been unwell. Cassie liked working for Ken so much that when he threatened to make a full recovery and not need her any more she started adding little something to his beverages to make him a bit sleepy, forgetful and just generally dependent. This was soon discovered and the family were furious at Cassie for risking Ken's life and taking advantage of both his good nature and his bank account. She was quickly ousted from the family home. More Trending But it wasn't long before she and Steve reconnected – much to Tracy's disgust. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? In episodes airing soon, there's a big development in their relationship. Steve kisses Cassie and declares that they're now officially a couple and he doesn't care who knows it. He may want to revise that last statement, though, as someone who already knows is Tracy. Will she be willing to let bygones be bygones and support her ex as he moves on with his life? Joel takes shocking action in EastEnders - and it spells trouble for Tommy

Twisted Joel Marshall (Max Murray) has gained leverage over Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) in EastEnders. Earlier this week, the lads skived off school to take a trip into The City. On their journey home, Joel demanded Tommy whip out his phone and record something shocking. He stumbled through the carriage, falling onto a girl and touching her inappropriately. In the aftermath, Tommy fled the scene, while Joel's step-mother figure Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) met up with the victim and handed her £2,000 in exchange for her silence. Her partner Ross (Alex Walkinshaw), Joel's dad, was furious, but glad that the ordeal seemed to be over. In his absence, Vicki fumed at the teen, ordering him to get his act together as she wouldn't cover for him in the future. In tonight's episode, she became concerned that there could be another threat to Joel's freedom. She broached the subject to the lad, asking him if he thought Tommy would have gone to the police to report the incident. Joel had faith in his mate – despite seemingly being cut off – and asserted that he was just as responsible because he was the one who filmed it. Tommy sat outside in The Square, panicking about the consequences. Vicki marched over and branded him a 'wrongen', and making it clear that if he speaks up, she'll tell everyone that it was his idea to commit the offence. Later, he sat alone in the cafe and Joel arrived. He branded Vicki a 'slapper', hoping to get on the right side of Tommy again, and said that he was ok with them not hanging out – as long as he realised that the video exists, and therefore they're equals. More Trending Tommy knew that he'd have to try and win his support back, as it could be dangerous should they fall out. They made amends, with Tommy deleting the video. Joel requested that he send it to him first, and once received, stated that he now had evidence to incriminate him. View More » Is Tommy is deep trouble?
