Coronation Street legend to stage TV return just weeks after exit
Coronation Street's Colson Smith is very busy following his departure from the soap. Colson played Craig Tinker from 2011-2025. The character was killed a few weeks ago while on duty as a police officer. 'Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinker's time on the Cobbles is to come to end in 2025,' he wrote on Instagram earlier this year, confirming his departure. 'I've loved every single second of my 14 year stay as a resident on the greatest street in the world. I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation Street. 'I've learned pretty much everything about life from the people who call it home. I'm excited to play out the exit story for our Craigy. For me, this is the end of the beginning. 'I genuinely can't wait to see what chapter two has in store for me.' Chapter two for Colson, so far, involves popular TV gameshows. The star previously revealed on the podcast On The Sofa that he will appear on Celebrity Mastermind soon, but he's also set to add another tense quiz show to his list. Colson confirmed in a chat with his co-stars, friends and fellow podcast presenters Jack P Shepherd and Ben Price that he's due to feature on The Weakest Link, hosted by Romesh Ranganathan. The actor went on to share that he's also been approached to appear on BBC One's Pointless, but he obviously needs to do this with a mate. 'They've also come in and asked about Pointless, but I've got to do it with a buddy', Colson said. 'Oh I'll do that. Yeah, I'm good at pointless!', Jack responded. The actor previously told Metro and other publications that it was his decision to be killed off from Corrie, wanting a more finite exit storyline. More Trending 'For me to go, I would want to leave,' he explained. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? 'I would want to die, I would want the door to be shut, so then I can know in my head that Corrie has been this, Corrie has done that, and it is now done, and Craig's journey is over. 'So in a really weird way, it was the right thing for me to be killed. I didn't want that 'we might have you back', knowing that it would be very unlikely, and knowing that it would feel a bit like unfinished business and an unfinished job. Coronation Street star devastated as business burns down in fire
Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote, 34, has been left devastated after her business burned down in a fire. The Katy Armstrong actress has been working as a nail technician alongside acting for the past four years, and took to Instagram to share the news. 'Unfortunately my beautiful little studio was affected by a huge fire within the storage world unit in Middleton last night,' she explained. 'Not only has my business burnt down, but so has many other peoples. Along with peoples most loved possessions. My heart goes out to them all. 'Even though as beauticians we can move into a new space, our stock and tools, which we spend years collecting have all gone. We can no longer work. My friends and fellow beauticians have to literally start again. With no way of even making the money to buy these tools. Some of them have children. 'I am asking if you could please help us all by just giving a little towards helping my friends rebuild their businesses. We would be eternally grateful. 'Fire is the most devastating thing. Thousands of pounds of stock has gone in seconds,' she concluded. Georgia starred as Katy Armstrong on the cobbles from 2010 until 2015. During her time in Weatherfield, Katy fathered son Joseph Brown (William Flanagan) and had an affair with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott, played at the time by Sol Heras). In 2017, she was killed in an off-screen car crash while living in Portugal. In an Instagram Q&A last year, a fan asked if Katy was 'disappointed' that her character was killed off. More Trending 'I wouldn't say disappointed at all,' she replied. 'I'm one of those people when I leave a job I'm ready for the next adventure. In recent scenes, she left Todd and her parents stunned when she revealed that she was pregnant. However, in tonight's episode, a shock twist revealed that she had been lying. Todd was left dumbfounded when Theo asked Millie to stay with them longer, after the teen explained how Danielle's fussing over the unborn baby had been stressing her out. More Trending However, when Theo returned home, Millie made out that Todd had turfed her out, causing tension between the couple. After they argued about something else, Millie goaded Todd about how much easier he was making her job of tearing them apart by pushing Theo away himself. Coronation Street's Georgia May Foote suffers huge loss as fire rips though her beauty business
Former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has suffered a huge loss after a fire ripped through her beauty business on Wednesday. The actress-turned-beautician, 34, who is best known for playing Katie Armstrong on the ITV soap, explained how the storage unit near Manchester caught ablaze. She said a slew of small studios and businesses, including her own, were affected by the blaze in an update shared to Instagram. Speaking in the clip, Georgia said: 'Unfortunately my little business was affected by a huge fire within the storage works unit in Middleton last night. 'Not only has my business burned down, but so has many other people's most loved possessions.' The former Strictly contestant then pleaded with fans to come forward with a donation, to help cover the costs of all the stock and equipment lost in the fire. Georgia continued: 'Even though as beauticians we can move into a new space, our stock and tools which we spend years collecting have all gone. 'We can no longer work, my friends and beauticians have to start again, with no way of making the money to buy these tools. I'm asking you all to give a little to help my friends rebuild their business.' The actress has endured a tumultuous time of late as she's recently opened up about a series of health struggles, including the skin condition vitiglio. Last year she appeared on This Morning Live, where she spoke about the condition which is caused by a lack of pigment in the skin. Then after a holiday to Egypt in May 2024, she shared a photo of her hands with the caption: 'Every time I go on holiday and I get a beautiful tan, I see how much my vitiligo has spread more than ever before. 'I would be lying if I didn't say it gets to me. It makes me feel super insecure at times. But seeing how the people around me support me and still love me the same makes my heart feel full. 'I've noticed people staring, having a good old nosey with their faces screwed up, and that's when my heart drops. 'So this is just a friendly reminder to those people to be kind. I'm sure the way it makes you feel is nothing in comparison to how the person with it feels.' After a holiday to Egypt, the Strictly Come Dancing runner up shared a picture of her hands and uploaded a lengthy post urging people to be kind The TV actress then expressed her wish to be a spokesperson for the unsightly condition. 'I'm proud to be a voice for people like me with the condition. I battle with how I feel about it every day,' she said. 'Today's one of those days I remember there is nothing I can do about it. So here we are. Showing it in all its glory (I do have lipstick on, but my whole colour has now gone in and around my lips).' During her time on Corrie, Georgia's character Katy was the youngest daughter of Owen Armstrong (Ian Puleston-Davies) and the sister of Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston). Georgia enjoyed some spicy storylines, including a surprise pregnancy and an affair. But then in 2017 showrunners gave her character an offscreen death, after she was written out via a car accident, closing the door on any future comebacks. Aside from showbuisness, Georgia is married to musician Kris Evans and the pair celebrated a year of being married last July.

Michelle Keegan raking in six figures while on maternity leave making £8k a week
Former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan gave birth to her first child in March of this year alongside husband Mark Wright, with the happy couple raking it in during the new mum's maternity leave Michelle Keegan is reportedly raking in six figures while on she's maternity leave as she's able to make £8,000 a week. The actress gave birth to her first daughter Palma back in March but it's thought that she can still make money while not taking on new acting projects. The new mum reportedly raked in a huge £441,082 while she was pregnant which brings her net worth to more than £4million in total. Michelle's performing arts firm Rosie Promotions' filings show that Michelle was raking the money in while she was off on maternity leave. Accounts filed at Companies House show that she made the equivalent of £8,482 per week for the year up to September 30, 2024. This increases the net worth of the company to £4,032,277 after bills. The Sun reports that the firm has £3,473,623 in cash and £610,370 in property which includes a flat in Altrincham which was bought in 2022. Michelle made £280,000 in her firm's first year of trading and she exceeded £2 million in 2021 before £3 million in 2023. Another way Michelle makes money is by co-directing clothing business Mysa Active with her husband Mark Wright. Michelle has reportedly landed a six-figure deal to become the new face of Sky. It's thought that the star will film promo clips alongside fellow British actor Luther star Idris Elba. She managed to bag the deal after she has been a Sky staple in her comedy Brassic which is one of the most popular series on the channel. A source said: "Michelle has really been enjoying maternity leave with Palma, but she'll be back to work soon to film these new adverts for Sky. She has signed a six-figure deal for the job and is thrilled to have been chosen to appear alongside Idris, who has been their 'face'. "Brassic is ending after the seventh series and Michelle is keen to still be a part of the Sky brand. Landing this ad is huge for Michelle, as she's fast becoming a brand in her own right. Everything she touches seems to turn to gold." Michelle has found fame over the years through her acting career. She is best known for her roles on Coronation Street and Our Girl. However, being a famous actress wasn't always on the cards for Michelle. She didn't have any plans when she first left school and found herself working at Selfridges in the Trafford Centre on a make-up counter and at Manchester Airport as a check-in agent. But this didn't last for long as she them turned her hand to acting and she found success soon after. She secured first acting appearance on Coronation Street when she was offered the role of Tina McIntyre after just her second audition as an actress.
