Aberdeen player ratings as Dimitar Mitov is Celtic heartbreaker with penalty heroics to put Dons in Scottish Cup dreamland
Jimmy Thelin and his troops are the Scottish Cup winners and end the Hoops' hopes of a domestic Treble
Aberdeen are the Scottish Cup winners after an incredible afternoon at Hampden.
Dimitar Mitov was the hero as he denied Callum McGregor and Alistair Johnston from the spot to send the Red Army wild.
Jimmy Thelin's men also bank the bonus of guaranteed European group stage football in a huge double prize boost at Hampden after the game ended 1-1 after 120 minutes.
Record Sport rates the Aberdeen players as they get ready to party into the night after a day to remember in Glasgow's south side.
DIMITAR MITOV
Had very little to do before he picked the ball out of his net. Brilliant stop to deny Meada in stoppage time. Double penalty hero 8
JACK MILNE
A surprise starter in a change of formation. Was a presence and his pace meant he was a solid presence. Booked. 7
ALFIE DORRINGTON
Really unlucky at the ball cannoned off him. Decent defensively, composed and also tried to drive forward. Subbed late on. 7
MATS KNOESTER
The Dutchman was the most experienced defender and kept the others right. Made a couple of important second half blocks. 7
ALEXANDER JENSEN
The Dane kept Daizen Maeda quiet. Put in a decent shift but more as right back than wing back. 7
ANTE PALAVERSA
The midfielder didn't really get much time on the ball going forward. Spent most of the time closing the space. Booked. 6
GRAEME SHINNIE
Moved back into a midfield role. Put in his typical doggish and all-action performance. Drove his team forward. 7
LEIGHTON CLARKSON
Fired a free kick straight at Kasper Schmeichel. Couldn't dominate the way he hoped. His set plays were Aberdeen's best option. 6
NICKY DEVLIN
Came back in at left wing-back. Hasn't had a lot of football but put in a shift before he limped off. 6
TOPI KESKINEN
Played as a central striker but got no service and spent his time chasing shadows. Wasn't able to use his pace. 5
KEVIN NISBET
Had a good chance but his header flew over. Tried to lift the Aberdeen fans. Subbed late on. 6
SUBS
Pape Gueye: Introduced in the 56th minute for Topi Keskinen. His presence and pace was a threat. 6
Dante Polvara: Came on in defence. Solid and also missed a good chance. 4

SunSport told you last month how the Scotland international had penned a pre-contract to return to Parkhead this summer as a replacement for Scott Bain. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Ross Doohan is back at Celtic Credit: Kenny Ramsay Doohan, 27, left Aberdeen at the end of his contract following the Scottish Cup final win at Hampden and it didn't take long for Brendan Rodgers to swoop in. He's been handed a three-year deal in Glasgow. Doohan told the Celtic website: 'I'm over the moon. Coming through the Academy, spending 11 years there and now to be coming back, it's an amazing feeling. 'It was always the dream to come back. I knew at the starting point of my career that I needed to go away and play games and hopefully the opportunity would come up to come back to the club, which I always wanted to do and thankfully that's happened now. 'I'm buzzing to get going and to meet all the boys and hopefully it'll be another successful season for the club." Celts boss Rodgers said: 'I am really pleased that we are bringing Ross back to Celtic. He knows the club so well and has grown up understanding the demands of the club. 'He has gone away, got some great experience, really focused on developing himself at some good clubs, so much so that he has now achieved his first Scotland cap, a great moment for him and his family. 'Ross is a really talented goalkeeper, hungry to achieve more, but he is a humble guy with a tremendous attitude to the game. I am sure he can be a real asset to our squad'. Rangers 'enter transfer race' to sign Croatian defender
Reports in his homeland have suggested Russel Martin is looking for a new centre-back, and the 25-year-old fits the bill. Jelenic is believed to be on his way out of Osijek this summer, just 12 months after joining. He arrived from NK Varaždin for a fee of around €800,000 (£685,000). The powerful defender made 40 appearances in all competitions. He gained some European experience too when he featured in the Europa Conference League qualifiers last summer. Read more: Now, despite having two years left to run on his deal, Croatian media outlet 24Sata says he's expected to leave Osijek in the coming weeks. The report claims Rangers are one of the interested teams. Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes are also vying for his signature. No asking price is mentioned, however, it's believed Osijek will seek 'serious money' for one of their prized assets.
