Bill Pullman & Rick Moranis Returning For New ‘Spaceballs'; Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman Also Set

EXCLUSIVE, updated with new, nonexclusive details: Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis are set to reprise their respective roles as Lone Starr and Dark Helmet in the new Spaceballs movie from Amazon MGM Studios, with Keke Palmer (One of Them Days) joining the cast, sources tell Deadline.
Amazon declined to comment, and character details for Palmer are under wraps, as is the sequel's plot. Also newly aboard in an undisclosed role is Pullman's son, rising star Lewis Pullman (Thunderbolts*), as THR was first to report this afternoon.

The addition of Moranis, though is particularly striking, as the actor hasn't been seen much on screen for decades. As announced this morning, the original film's director and star, Mel Brooks, will also feature in the cast once again, reprising his role as Yogurt. Slated for release in theaters in 2027, the film has been described by those who have not yet read the script as 'A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film.'
Josh Greenbaum (Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar) will direct from a script by Benji Samit, Dan Hernandez, and Josh Gad, as announced in June of last year. Gad is also expected to star and will produce alongside Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Jeb Brody, Brooks, and Greenbaum, with Kevin Salter, Adam Merims, Samit, and Hernandez exec producing.
Released by MGM in 1987, the original Spaceballs is an iconic send-up of the sci-fi genre, which took inspiration from the Star Wars franchise and other classics like 2001: A Space Odyssey. The plot revolves around the evil Dark Helmet (Moranis) and President Skroob (Brooks), who attempt to steal the atmosphere of the peaceful planet Druidia, only to be thwarted by the hero Lone Starr (Pullman), his sidekick Barf (John Candy), and the Druish princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga). Others in the cast included Joan Rivers and Dick Van Patten. The film grossed just over $38.1 worldwide but has endured over the years as a cult classic.
Otherwise best known for turns in iconic works like Independence Day and David Lynch's Lost Highway, Pullman has most recently been seen starring in series like The Sinner, as well as films including The High Note and Dark Waters. Upcoming, he has the Duffer Brothers' Netflix series The Boroughs, A24's Famous opposite Zac Efron, and more.
An icon of the '80s and '90s, Moranis rose to fame with roles in Ghostbusters, Little Shop of Horrors, the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids films and more, after writing and starring in famed Canadian sketch series SCTV. Famously, he for the most part stepped away from acting in the late '90s, focusing on raising his children following the passing of his wife, costume designer Ann Belsky. Most recently, he teamed with Ryan Reynolds on a 2020 ad for Mint Mobile.
Palmer is coming off of success with One of Them Days, a TriStar buddy comedy where she stars opposite SZA, which recently got a sequel set up for development. Next up, she'll be seen in The Pickup, Amazon's heist comedy out August 6, opposite Eddie Murphy; Aziz Ansari's Lionsgate comedy Good Fortune, out October 17; and Boots Riley's Neon pic I Love Boosters.
Pullman is repped by CAA; Moranis by Bailey Brand Management and Nelson Davis; and Palmer by 3 Arts and Hertz Lichtenstein.

Luminate looked at streaming minutes from June 6 to 12 to determine the total. It's the second most-watched streaming show on TV. So, fans are obsessing over tuning in to see what tricks Ariana Madix has up her sleeves next. That definitely makes us feel better about our TV watching habits. It's hard to believe that fans have already watched a billion minutes, and the season hasn't even been on for three weeks yet. That means thousands of people have witnessed antics like Taylor Williams bursting out of his straps after being seduced by Olandria Carthen. It's also a whole lot of people who have seen Huda crash out. Yikes. It took Season 6 nearly a month to crack a billion minutes viewed, so Season 7 is off to a strong start. Surely, with the way things are going in the villa these days, it won't take us long to rack up another billion minutes on this season alone. ‘The Bear' Season 4: The plot, returning cast members, release date and more. Where Carmy, Sydney and the restaurant go from here.

'Every second counts,' and that's made no clearer than on FX's The Bear. Returning on June 25, the Emmy-winning series will transport audiences back to the chaotic fine dining restaurant helmed by tortured culinary genius Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White). FX quietly renewed the series for a fourth season in March 2024. The latest season was filmed back-to-back with season 3, Deadline reported. Ahead, we break down everything you need to know before The Bear returns. The season three finale ends with a foreboding 'to be continued' on the screen. In the final scene of the season, Carmy looks down at his phone to see that the Chicago Tribune review of his restaurant has posted — and that he has a number of missed calls from both Cicero (Oliver Platt) and the Computer (Brian Koppelman). We don't get a close enough look at the review to fully know whether it's positive or negative, though fans have tried to decipher what it says. Carmy angrily exclaims 'motherf***er' after reading it — if that's any sort of indication. And if the review is bad, Cicero will stop funding the restaurant. Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), meanwhile, has a tough decision to make: Will she sign the partnership agreement and stick it out with the Bear or jump ship and take up former Ever chef Adam Shapiro's offer as his new chef de cuisine? Carmy's strict list of non-negotiables and toxic pursuit of culinary excellence could be enough reason for Sydney to cut ties with him and start new elsewhere. In the Season 4 trailer, Carmy seems eager to turn his attitude and the restaurant's morale around, though it may be too late. 'Look, we could do this. We could take care of people. We could make it calm. We could make it delicious. We could make people happy,' Carmy says. Thankfully, we won't have to wait for weekly episode drops. All 10 episodes of the fourth season will be available to stream on Hulu starting June 25 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. It wouldn't be The Bear without the group of chefs — or Jeffs — responsible for running it. The Bear has previously featured a noteworthy roster of guest stars like John Cena as Sammy Fak and Josh Hartnett as the fiancé of Richie's ex-wife Tiff (Gillian Jacobs), who were both introduced in the third season. Jon Bernthal, beloved for his role as Carmy and Sugar's big brother who passed away, and Joel McHale as David Fields, Carmy's abusive old boss from New York, also appear in flashbacks throughout the series. Will Poulter as chef Luca and Olivia Colman as chef Terry emerged as fan favorites during the show's second season. Neither has outright confirmed they're returning, but Poulter's made his adoration of the show common knowledge. 'I really hope so,' Poulter told the Los Angeles Times in April of whether he'd be returning to The Bear. 'I love that show so much. The fact I get to be in it is crazy. When I'm on that set, I'm like, 'Oh, they've let a fan on set.' I literally feel like a competition winner.' The cast has remained pretty mum on details surrounding the Emmy-winning series' fourth season. What we do know, though, is that Edebiri, who made her directorial debut with Season 3, Episode 6's 'Napkins' on The Bear, also cowrote an episode for Season 4 with Boyce. 'Each season I've gotten to do different things,' Edebiri told actor-director Ramy Youssef for Cultured magazine. 'Last season I directed for the first time and this season I've written an episode. It's been a minute since I've written for TV, and I've learned so much since the last time — even something as simple as knowing what it's like to shoot an overnight. So, my episode will be taking place during the day.'

'Summer I Turned Pretty' Season 3 to have two-episode premiere

The first pair of episodes are set to arrive on the streamer July 16, followed by weekly episodes through Sept. 17. The final chapter of the series, which follows an evolving love triangle between Belly (Lola Tung) and brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), will feature 11 episodes. The new schedule is a slight deviation from the sophomore season, which kicked off with a three-episode premiere. All of the Season 1 episodes were released in one block. Both prior seasons contained 8 episodes. A recently released trailer shows Belly announcing her engagement to Jeremiah after his mother's (Rachel Blanchard) funeral service. Jenny Han's books serve as inspiration for the series, which also examines "the complexities of family and the strength of female friendships," according to an official synopsis. Han serves as one of the showrunners and an executive producer.
