Princess Diana's former personal trainer, Jenni Rivett, has revealed that she used to beg the Royal not to share her secrets for a heartbreaking reason.
Rivett, 65, was by Diana's side during one of the most turbulent periods of her life, as her marriage to Prince Charles publicly crumbled.
The couple were embroiled in what was often referred to as the 'War of the Waleses', as they each tried to present their side of the story to the public during their bitter separation.
Rivett had a front-row seat to Diana's struggles during this challenging time, having worked with her for six years from 1991 until her untimely death in 1997. They were even scheduled to continue their workout sessions after Diana's planned return.
Tragically, Diana died in a car crash in Paris in August 1997 while on holiday with her then-boyfriend Dodi Fayed. The driver, who was intoxicated, crashed the car while trying to evade paparazzi, reports the Mirror. All but one passenger perished in the accident.
Rivett and Diana were set to resume their training sessions just days later, but that day never came. The South African trainer learned of her long-time client's death through a friend, and it's taken her nearly three decades to feel ready to talk about Diana and the wonderful memories they created together.
Jenni shared with the Mail Online that her bond with Diana was strong, yet there were moments she implored the Princess to hold back on sharing intimate details of her life for a heartbreakingly valid reason.
"Sometimes Diana would tell me things so personal I would ask her: 'Please don't say any more because if it ends up in the papers tomorrow, you will think it was me.'"
"I would give her the very best advice I could, yet I'd pinch myself – here I am, consultant to the Royal Family! But saying that, I knew my place. I never brought up subjects myself, I never overstepped the line, and I think she appreciated that," Jenni recounted.
She also disclosed that Diana had never aspired to the path her life took and that her true focus was on her husband and sons - Prince William and Prince Harry, who meant the world to her.
"Diana loved her boys; they were everything to her. She would have been devastated at what is going on between them today," the fitness coach remarked.
Jenni recalled the initial intimidation she felt when Diana's butler, Paul Burrell, informed her that the most famous woman in the world sought her fitness expertise.
During their thrice-weekly fitness sessions, Jenni observed Diana's transformation as she navigated through her sorrow and emerged into a newfound chapter of confidence.

Meghan Markle stuns fans with pricey new lifestyle product range
Meghan Markle has unveield the newest range of lifestyle products with her brand As Ever, shocking many royals fan with the limited availability and outrageous prices. Meghan Markle has officially unveiled the latest drop from her luxury lifestyle brand As Ever, with many of her loyal fans shocked at the inflated prices and availability of her second brand launch. The Duchess of Sussex's second launch includes a selection of new food items, including a swanky apricot spread, a limited edition orange blossom honey, and a brand new Rosé wine, marking her foray into the world of alcoholic drinks, reports the Mirror. The 2023 Rose, which hails from the vineyards of Napa Valley, California, will be sold on As Ever from July 1, with Meghan's eager fans excited about their new summer tipple. As well as a range of new products, various fan favourites have been restocked - including the flower sprinkles, crepe mix, herbal teas, and shortbread cookie mix. While some royal watchers are buzzing with excitement over Meghan's latest line of summer goodies, others have been left scratching their heads by the price. Meghan is flogging orange blossom honey for a whopping $28 (£21), while a pot of apricot jam in her now-trademark 'keepsake' jar will set fans back $14 (£10). International fans have also been let down by the release, as the products are only available for shipping within the United States. The Duchess first teased the sweet treats on her lifestyle brand's Instagram earlier this week, writing in the caption alongside a picture of a stack of pancakes: 'Oh yes, honey …sweet things await. We're bringing back your favorites, plus some delicious surprises you won't want to miss!' In a newsletter to fans, she said: "First off, a sincere thank you for making the debut of As Ever absolutely extraordinary. We had a feeling there would be excitement, but to see everything sell out in less than an hour was an amazing surprise. "We are pleased to share that on June 20th, we're going live with the products you love – plus, some new delicious surprises," adding that "so much love has gone into this". The new release of the new products come after Meghan revealed that she would be focusing more on her lifestyle brand, and not renewing her podcast for a second season any time soon. Speaking candidly on the Aspire podcast with host Emma Grede, Meghan acknowledged "that there is so much excitement and desire for another season" of the podcast, but added, "I need to focus on my business. People seem to forget that very rarely do people see everything that's happening behind the scenes." In addition to Meghan's podcast and lifestyle brand, she is also working on a second season of her Netflix show - With Love, Meghan - which is expected to premiere later this year. Joking with podcast host Emma Grede, Meghan said: "At a certain point, the only thing I want spread thin is my jam."

Huge Coronation Street star set to make dramatic return and filming has started
Coronation Street is reportedly bringing back a chaotic character, with the actor expected to be back on screen later this summer which will no doubt delight fans Coronation Street icon Amy Robbins, best known for her role as Christina Boyd, is reportedly making a comeback to the cobbles despite her sudden exit from the long-running programme. According to reports, the 54-year-old star, who made her first appearance on Corrie in early 2023, has already started filming. Amy made her exit from the show as nightmare mum of Daisy Midgeley earlier this year as part of Daisy's exit storyline. Amy played the role of Christina on and off since 2023. It was confirmed earlier this year that Charlotte Jordan, who played her on screen daughter, would leave the soap after four years, in a bid to "explore other opportunities." Daisy might have left, but there's still a big storyline waiting for Christina, with fans able to expect her back on screen soon. A source recently claimed to The Sun that Amy is filming new scenes, explaining: "Christina will be back to her usual tricks causing chaos on the cobbles. There's going to be some incredible scenes with her and Jenny clashing. 'And this time she's back for a long stint. She returned to filming recently and she'll be back on screen later this summer. It's definitely going to be explosive.' When Charlotte left the show, she said: "My time at Coronation Street is something I'll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it's time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.' Amy returned as "hot mess" Christina earlier this year to make sure her on-screen daughter had an exit to remember. Despite having a turbulent relationship, Daisy reached out to her mother, insisting she needed help. For the first time, the mother and daughter worked together as a duo, and unfortunately, Daisy's step mum Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) got the brunt of it. Speaking of her previous return, Amy said to the Mirror at the time: "For the first time you see the two women work together. When push comes to shove, she's relying on her flesh and blood to help her out of it. "Christina runs to her rescue to finally get revenge on Jenny, which is what she's always wanted to do." At the time, she also claimed it was her last stint on the cobbles and insisted a return for Christina was "highly unlikely" after Daisy's departure. The Mirror have reached out to ITV for comment.

Channel 5 quietly axe popular show after just one series – despite being branded the new Wife Swap
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) CHANNEL 5 have quietly axed one of their reality TV shows after just one series. The programme was launched to much fanfare and was tipped to be the modern-day equivalent of iconic hit Wife Swap but it has been revealed that it won't be back for a second series. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 3 Channel 5's Wife on Strike has been axed after just one series Credit: Channel 5 3 Wife on Strike featured plenty of fed-up wives quitting Credit: Channel 5 Wife On Strike was first launched in November 2023 but as the series continued, ratings for the show began to dip and it soon fell below one million viewers. Bosses decided to pull the series after just two episodes and instead re-launched the remaining episodes last July as Mums On Strike with a slightly re-tooled edit and premise. However, insiders have now confirmed to the Mail Online that the show has been shelved despite the revamp. A source told the publication: "Wife On Strike was reminiscent of the Wife Swap days when millions of nosey viewers would tune in for their reality fix. "But it just failed to catch on with the audience and was underperforming in the highly competitive prime time slot where original dramas could easily pull in double the numbers. "While the rest of the series eventually aired under a new name, a decision was made to quietly rest the show with no further episodes planned." The Sun has reached out to Channel 5 for comment. In the programme, it saw the wives of the household move out of the home and give up all household chores and jobs. They left the family home leaving the rest of their family to pick up the pieces and undertake all the jobs normally left to them. Wife On Strike bore striking similarities to popular Channel 4 show Wife Swap. Axed Channel 5 show Mum On Strike returns to air in shock U-turn The programme which featured two totally different wives swapping households to see how others approached family life was first launched in 2003 to huge appeal. It produced many iconic moments and continued to run until 2009 when the format was axed. It aired a total of eleven series across its six years on air.
