Maxton Hall Reveals Season 2 Premiere Plan on Amazon — Get Ready for a Long Wait

Yahoo04-03-2025

If Maxton Hall's Ruby Bell looks sad in the below newly released posters, it's probably because she just found out that Season 2 of the Prime Video series won't return until 'end of 2025,' the streamer announced via Instagram.
The popular teen drama — which was one of TVLine's Hidden Gems You May Have Missed from last year's TV — premiered in May 2024, meaning it will be well over a year between seasons by the time the show comes back.

In Season 2, 'those who fly high can also fall low,' reads the official synopsis. 'After their passionate night together in Oxford and her greatest life goal within reach, everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby. But a stroke of fate in James' family changes everything and James himself, of all people, brings her back from cloud nine to a harsh reality.'
'Ruby is devastated. She has never had such strong feelings for anyone as she does for James — and she has never been so hurt by anyone either,' the description continues. 'She wants her old life back, where no one at Maxton Hall knew her and she wasn't part of the elitist world of her classmates. But she can't forget James — especially since he's doing everything he can to win her back.'

Bill Skarsgård's ‘Nosferatu' Gets Prime Video Streaming Date

"Nosferatu" partial poster featuring Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgård. Nosferatu — the 2024 horror hit starring Bill Skarsgård, Lily-Rose Depp and Nicholas Hoult — is coming soon to Prime Video. Directed by Robert Eggers, Nosferatu opened on Dec. 25, 2024. The official logline for the movie reads, 'A gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.' Skarsgård stars as the vampire Count Orlok in Nosferatu, while Depp plays Ellen Hutter, whom the vampire has been haunting in her dreams. Hoult plays Ellen's husband, Thomas Hutter, a real estate agent who is trying to thwart Orlok from preying on his wife. The film also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Simon McBurney, Ralph Ineson and Willem Dafoe. Prime Video has announced that Nosferatu will join its streaming video on demand lineup on Friday, June 27. Viewers who don't have Prime Video can get the streaming service as one of the benefits of being an Amazon Prime subscriber for $14.99 or $139 per year. Prime Video-only subscriptions are also available for $8.99 per month. According to streaming tracker When to Stream, only the theatrical version of Nosferatu will be available on Prime Video when the film makes its SVOD debut on the platform on Friday. The extended cut of Nosferatu, which includes four minutes of additional footage is only available on the Peacock streaming service. Robert Eggers Contacted Bill Skarsgård About 'Nosferatu' After Seeing Him In 'IT: Chapter Two' Nosferatu director Robert Eggers said it was because of another horror role — Pennywise the Clown— that led him to pursue Bill Skarsgård to play Count Orlok. However, it wasn't Skarsgård's portrayal as the clown that inspired Eggers. 'It was [Bill's role] as Pennywise, but in IT: Chapter Two, when he played Pennywise as a middle-aged human man instead of a clown,' Eggers said in a Zoom conversation prior to the film's theatrical release. 'It just had a kind of darkness and depth that I really believed. 'So, that's when I emailed or texted Bill and said, 'Let's talk about Orlok.' I really wanted to work with Bill since I met him almost 10 years ago,' the filmmaker added. 'I cast him in The Northman in a supporting role but because of COVID, it didn't happen. He was always on my mind.' Nosferatu received awards season recognition for films released in 2024, largely in the technical categories. The film earned nominations for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design and Best Production Design for the 97th Academy Awards; and received nominations in the same four categories and a Best Original Score nomination from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards. Nosferatu begins streaming on Prime Video on Friday.

Cardi B Says ‘We're Outside'—And That's Exactly Where We're Going

Source: Antony Jones / Getty Cardi B just gave us permission to be outside all summer long with the official drop of 'Outside.' And the way this track is hitting, you'd better believe we're heading there now with a fresh nail set, poppin lip gloss, and no apologies. Dropped on Friday, June 20, Cardi's song is already shaping up to be the summer anthem. We've been looking for one – and it seems like we have it. After weeks of teasing fans with snippets on social media and lyrics that hit all too well, Cardi finally let the full version loose. And, yes, it's giving everything it needs to give. RELATED: Cardi B Is Flexing A New Man And A New Chapter On Instagram – And We Love To See It Source: Antony Jones / Getty Cardi B previewed 'Outside' two days ago during a performance at the Spotify Beach event in Cannes, France. Knowing the fire she was about to spit, the femee looked the TF good for the stage moment. Braving the summer temps, the New York raptness rocked a striped fringe dress we loved. The custom mini moment hugged her curves just right and oozed retro realness. The flirty design and fun fabric were the perfect complement to the beats – and bars – she dropped. The 'Bongos' rapper paired her dress with a fierce pair of Maison Margiela booties in a matching orange tone, adorned with a touch of fringe magic. Cardi completed her Cannes look with voluminous black curls, a buss-down middle part, and glam makeup. While 'Outside' is built for the club, it was written with raw honesty. Cardi doesn't hold back—and that's exactly what makes this one resonate. 'When I tell you these n—–s ain't shit, please believe me,' Cardi says on 'Outside.' 'They gon' fck on anything, these n—–s way too easy / Good for nothing, low-down, dirty dogs, I'm convinced / Next time you see your momma, tell her how she raised a btch.' In her Instagram Stories, Cardi revealed that she originally wrote the song while angry. (She joked she had to edit a few lyrics because of her raw emotion). 'Outside' isn't just about shaking something (though we absolutely will); it's about living your best life and reclaiming your peace, self-love, and confidence. Whether you're heading to a rooftop party, brunch with your girls, or making a dramatic exit from whatever no longer serves you, Cardi's got you covered. We don't know if a video or remix is coming, but we're sure something is coming. And when it drops, we'll be ready – and already 'Outside.' Jussie Smollett announces engagement to boyfriend Jabari Redd

The "Empire" alum photos from his proposal to boyfriend Jabari Redd. Smollett shared the moment unfolded just one day before his 43rd birthday celebration. "I'll be spending my birthday with my Fiancé," he wrote in the caption. "He said YES. 💍." The snaps in the post captured the moment Smollett proposed to Redd near a restaurant, from getting down on one knee to slipping the ring on his fiancé's finger. The slideshow ended with joyful shots of the couple celebrating with hugs, laughter and a close-up of the ring. Family and friends later flooded the comment section with love and congratulations. "Screaming with tears of joy," Jussie's little sister and actress Jurnee Smollett wrote. "My whole heart loves both of you @jussiesmollett. Welcome to the family @jabriredd." Their other sister, Jazz Smollett, added, "Yaaaass!!! Welcome to the family Jabari!!! Love y'all!! Sooooo happy for you both! 🥰🥰🥰." The news comes after Smollett recently reached a settlement with the city of Chicago in a civil case related to the city's efforts to recover costs from its investigation into a 2019 incident that authorities claim was a staged hate crime. Smollett has always maintained he is innocent. As part of the agreement, the city dropped its lawsuit in exchange for a $50,000 donation from Smollett to a local arts nonprofit, marking a formal end to the years-long legal battle. In a statement shared on Instagram last month, Smollett said he chose to settle by making a charitable donation, not as an admission of guilt, but to move forward from what he described as a "false narrative" that he said "has left a stain on my character that will not soon disappear." "These officials wanted my money and wanted my confession for something I did not do," he said. "Today, it should be clear… They have received neither." He said his decision to settle "was not the most difficult one to make" and announced an additional $10,000 donation to the Chicago Torture Justice Center, saying he stands with others who've had to prove their truth. Meanwhile, the city said in an official statement that the settlement offers "a fair, constructive, and conclusive resolution, allowing all the parties to close this six-year-old chapter and move forward." In November, the Illinois Supreme Court overturned Smollett's 2021 conviction for allegedly filing a false police report about a hate crime in 2019, stating in its decision that the case violated his due process rights and raised questions about the state's obligation to honor agreements made with defendants. In March 2019, Smollett forfeited his $10,000 bond to the city and agreed to perform 16 hours of community service as part of an agreement to drop all criminal charges related to the alleged false report, according to then-Cook County first assistant state attorney Joe Magats.
