Ruben Amorim threatened to quit job after TWO GAMES as Man Utd boss offers to walk away ‘without compensation'
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Ruben Amorim offered to quit with no pay-off if the board and fans decide his time is up.
Amorim, 40, made that sensational statement shortly after United's heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the Europa League final, which ended the club's only hope of Champions League qualification.

According to transfer insider Guillem Balague, the Portuguese tactician offered to walk away TWICE during his brief six-month spell at Old Trafford if the club felt he wasn't the right man for the job.
Balague insists this is not a "plea for attention" but instead a "genuine offer" as he "simply doesn't want to be in the way".
Amorim did the same when he was in charge of two other teams during his seven-year managerial career.
The first time took place way back in 2018 during his first ever coaching job at Casa Pia.
The Man Utd head coach lost his first two matches in charge of the Portuguese outfit, who were then playing in the third tier, and promised he would quit if he lost the third with his pride hurt.
But that was when Amorim first adopted his signature 3-4-2-1 formation and Casa Pia's fortunes immediately changed as he remained unbeaten at the club.
The second time took place in his third year at Sporting Lisbon back in 2023 when he could only manage a fourth-place league finish.
Amorim held showdown talks with then Sporting director Hugo Viana and told him he wanted to leave because he felt his project had failed and that people no longer believed in him.

Viana refused to accept his resignation and insisted everyone had full faith in him.
The incoming Manchester City director of football then called in everyone, including players, board and staff, to express their confidence, faith and love in him despite a poor season.

Amorim went on to win a second league title the following season and practically set the foundations for a third this term before moving to Man Utd in November.
Nevertheless, the United board have full confidence in the ex-Sporting boss and are planning to back him during the summer transfer window where a major squad overhaul is expected.
That is despite the Red Devils' worst ever Premier League campaign and the fact they missed out on a £100million windfall.

Marcus Rashford has been tight-lipped on his uncertain future so far this summer but now the Manchester United star has broken his silence, hinting at a dream move to Barcelona Marcus Rashford has dropped his biggest hint yet that he wants to join Barcelona.
