Ruben Amorim told he faces Man Utd sack and it could come sooner than he thinks

Ruben Amorim has endured a torrid time in charge of Manchester United since being appointed in November and could quickly find himself under pressure next season without improvement Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has been warned he could soon be under pressure at Old Trafford if he does not start next season well. The Portuguese head coach saw the Red Devils finish 15th last season following his first months in charge. Amorim arrived in November to replace Erik ten Hag, just months after the Dutch coach signed a new deal with the club. And while under contract until 2027, the former Sporting boss will find plenty of scrutiny have failed to improve United's form during his time at the club so far. ‌ The 40-year-old guided United to the final of the Europa League but c ould not prevent them missing out on European qualification as his team struggled to put a run of wins together. But this summer will provide the f irst opporunity for Amorim to spend pre-season with his squad to implement his methods. ‌ United's spending has already proven significant with the addition of Matheus Cunha from Wolves. The club could yet land Bryan Mbeumo and another striker in the transfer market too. And former United coach Rene Meulensteen reckons Amorim will need to hit the ground running in 2024/25. If not, the Dutch coach believes that his position may be in jeopardy before the end of the year. "If things carry on into next season and getting towards Christmas, Ruben Amorim's job will be on the line," Meulensteen told InstantWithdrawalBettingSites. "The club hierarchy will have no choice but to discuss if he is the right man going forward after how badly last season went – that's why a good start to the season is a must." Meulensteen suggests that Amorim's rigid style could yet hold the team back, even with the club's activity in the transfer market. The current players linked do not fix all of United's issues in the mind of Alex Ferguson's former assistant. "When you're managing Manchester United the target should always be to win the title, but if Ruben Amorim said that now then people would think he is mad," he added. ‌ "If United somehow get to Christmas with only one or two draws and defeats then people might think the club are back, but I can't see it happening because Amorim is stuck in his system and they are massively vulnerable. "I think if United start the season with Andre Onana and Harry Maguire in defence then there will still be a lot of question marks in the unit and other teams will take advantage of that. "You can strengthen with Viktor Gyokeres, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo alongside Bruno Fernandes but the midfield and the defence will still be overrun. "The minimum has to be to get back into the Champions League, but Amorim has to be careful because not having an adaptable system is not a clever thing to do. You have to be flexible and be able to adapt when needed." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Andre Onana's cryptic response and Man Utd stance as new transfer route appears

Andre Onana has spent the last two seasons in goal at Old Trafford since a £44million move from Inter Milan, but it's been something of a rollercoaster ride for the Cameroon stopper, signed at the behest of Erik ten Hag Monaco have emerged as contenders to sign goalkeeper Andre Onana from Manchester United. Although a change of goalkeeper was not viewed as a priority at United this summer, the club are willing to listen to offers for every one of their players. Onana, signed from Inter Milan for £47.5million two years ago, endured another unconvincing campaign last season for United, but that has not put the French side off enquiring about him. ‌ Cameroon star Onana, 29, is currently on holiday but gave a cryptic reply when approached by a news crew this week. ‌ When asked if he could leave United this summer, Onana replied: 'Will I leave? I don't know, we'll see!' Monaco keepers Philipp Kohn and Radoslaw Majecki did not entirely convince last season, which has led the club to start looking for a new first-choice keeper this summer. As well as Onana, Chelsea's Djordje Petrovic has emerged as a target for Monaco, after returning from a loan spell at Strasbourg ,with the Serbia stopper not expected to have a future at Chelsea. An exit for Onana would see United push for a new No.1 goalkeeper. Aston Villa's Emi Martinez has been linked. And Amorim is looking for new arrivals to be brought in quickly. Amorim wants his new signings on board for the club's pre-season tour of the USA in four weeks' time. United have been slow to recruit this summer, with £62.5million winger Matheus Cunha from Wolves their only signing so far. Amorim is impatient for the new signings to be on the plane for United's three-game tour of the States, which sees them face West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton in the Premier League Summer Series. The United boss sees the tour as the ideal environment in which new signings can fully integrate with the squad, as well as enabling them to adapt to the team's system, so they can hit the ground running when the new season starts. Ruben Amorim growing impatient and wants Man Utd transfers completed urgently

Man Utd's only signing of the summer so far is Matheus Cunha, with boss Ruben Amorim wanting new arrivals on board in time for the summer tour of the US in four weeks' time Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim wants his new signings on board for the club's pre-season tour of the USA in four weeks' time. United have been slow to recruit this summer, with £62.5million winger Matheus Cunha from Wolves their only signing so far, despite the need for a radical overhaul of Amorim's squad. Targets for United include Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike and Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, who played under Amorim there. ‌ Amorim is impatient for the new signings to be on the plane for United's three-game tour of the States, which sees them face West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton in the Premier Leahue Summer Series. ‌ The United boss sees the tour as the ideal environment in which new signings can fully integrate with the squad, as well as enabling them to adapt to the team's system, so they can hit the ground running when the new season starts. Amorim also wants United to offload players he does not want as quickly as possible, chiefly Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony. None feature in Amorim's future plans and must be sold to help raise funds to reinvest in new signings. But United are finding it difficult to attract buyers for their outcasts, primarily because of the high wage demands of the players concerned, as well as their poor form last season, which has left clubs unwilling to meet their market valuations. Rashford wants a move to Barcelona, but there has been little progress on that front, while Napoli have expressed interest in Sancho and Garnacho, but want to pay significantly less that United are demanding. The transfer window opened from June 1 to 10, to allow teams to recruit in time for the Club World Cup, and reopened on Monday, closing on September 1. ‌ Despite United enduring their worst-ever Premier League campaign last season, finishing in 15 th place, Bruno Fernandes has been shortlisted for the PFA Players' Player of the Year award. Fernandes is up against Liverpool duo Mo Salah and Alexis MacAllister, as well as Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice and Chelsea forward Cole Palmer. United skipper Fernandes scored eight goals in 36 league appearances last season and 19 in all competitions. The award will be presented at a ceremony in Manchester on August 19. The last time a United player won the accolade was Wayne Rooney in 2010, with Manchester City and England forward Phil Foden the current holder.

Ruben Amorim to brutally 'axe four Manchester United stars' from pre-season tour

Manchester United could be set to bid farewell to some huge players this summer with Ruben Amorim seemingly nudging some towards the Old Trafford exit door before the Red Devils return Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are among four misfits set to be axed from Manchester United 's pre-season tour. The Red Devils are set to travel to the US in July for a clutch of lucrative matches as part of their preparations for the new campaign. They will take on Premier League rivals West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton as part of that tour. But Ruben Amorim is set to take a brutal approach to his squad with many stars expected to leave Old Trafford this summer. ‌ According to The Sun, four out-of-favour stars are set to be left behind at Carrington for the tour should they fail to seal moves away from United before then. That includes academy graduate Rashford after Aston Villa turned down the chance to sign him permanently following his loan spell. ‌ The forward has since been linked with Barcelona. He is set to be joined by Jadon Sancho after he too saw a permanent move to Chelsea collapse following a loan spell last season. Napoli have since emerged for his services but are struggling to afford his wages as it stands. Alejandro Garnacho also faces little prospect of a future at United - the Argentine having also been linked with Napoli. The final player that Amorim wants to leave behind is Antony. The Brazilian winger has struggled since his big-money move from Ajax and while he impressed with Real Betis last term, the Spanish side are yet to make a renewed move. Explaining Amorim's hardline stance, a source quoted by The Sun said: 'Amorim is stamping his authority on the club. It was hard arriving mid-season but he now has the opportunity to shape the team in his image. And he's wasting no time. 'He only wants players who would die for the shirt and are on board with his ideas. He also wants a smaller squad to create an intimate team bond so that everyone gets enough game time to be at peak fitness when called upon. He doesn't want any bad apples or distractions.' ‌ Who else should Man United sign this summer? Share your thoughts in the comments below While Amorim is set to axe a few faces from his squad for United's pre-season commitments, there could also be a few new additions to the squad. Matheus Cunha is due to join up with the Red Devils following his £62.5m move from Wolves. He could yet be joined by Bryan Mbeumo, who remains at the heart of a tug of war between United and Tottenham. As it stands, he favours a move to Old Trafford but United chiefs are yet to agree terms with the Bees over the Cameroon forward.
