Cardi B makes explosive return with new song Outside
Cardi B has made an explosive return with new song Outside.
The rap sensation debuted the fiery track, her first of the year, at the Cannes Spotify Beach Party on Wednesday (18.06.25)
The new tune follows March 2024's Enough (Miami).
Cardi recently explained why her new album is taking so long.
Fans of the WAP hitmaker have had a lengthy wait for the follow-up to her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy.
And it seems there is still a way to go, as the rapper is waiting on her featured artists to deliver the goods.
During an Instagram Live in May, she said: 'I really need these f****** features.
'And it's like I'm not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down. But it's like, come on now! I need that! I need that right now! Helloooo! Y'all don't want to miss this opportunity. I'll sing this s*** myself! But I really need y'all and I need y'all to hurry up and I love y'all. I feel like nobody want to miss being on this album.'
Cardi - who has collaborated with the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, Bruno Mars, Lizzo and Migos in the past - revealed she has worked with artists she has teamed up with before and some new faces, too.
She went on: 'I don't have a lot of features, but I'm working with artists, some that I have worked with before and some that I haven't worked with before. And the ones that I have not worked with before, I feel like it's gonna really, really surprise y'all.'
She teased: 'It's such a vibe. I'm 100 per cent confident with this album. I just don't think what I got is out there.'

Cardi B 'would have killed' Offset if they'd stayed together
Cardi B would have "ended up killing" Offset if they were still together. The 32-year-old rapper married the Migos star - with whom she has children Kulture, six, Wave, three, and eight-month-old Blossom - in 2017 but filed for divorce until 2020, though they later continued an on/off relationship before parting for good in July last year, and she's admitted she felt she was "losing [her] mind" towards the end of their marriage. Speaking on X Spaces, People magazine reports she said: 'I don't think people understand how tired I was. How tired, how mentally drained I was. 'Drained, drained, drained. Couldn't eat. I was getting frequent headaches. I was literally losing my mind. 'I was literally losing my mind. And I gave it chances after chances after chances after chances after chances after chances. "[If I was] still there, I was going to end up going to jail, 'cause I was going to end up killing them. Seriously, with my own bare hands. 'Cause it was just getting so … it was just getting too much." The 'WAP' hitmaker stressed there were "more" problems in their marriage than just infidelity. She noted outsiders view the situation as: "Oh, you left somebody because they were cheating on you.' But she explained it was also "the constant lies, the gaslighting." She added: "It was really messing up with my head. 'I was so depressed, 'cause the lies, the constant drama. I would wake up every single morning paranoid." At one point, before she and Offset reconciled and had their third child, Cardi's worried management team wanted her to see a therapist. She said: "I did therapy and I tried and I fell back in love again and I decided to have my baby and everything, and it's just like, when it's the end of something it's literally the end of something. 'And I don't know what people wanted me to do.' But the 'Up' rapper is now in a good place and enjoying her romance with Steffon Diggs. She said: 'I'm in a place right now that I'm very happy and I feel like I'm crawling. It's like I'm learning how to do things. 'Dating is new to me. It took a long time for me to open up to somebody. Cardi had "built a friendship" with the 31-year-old sportsman before they started dating and she hadn't 'been this happy in a very, very long time". She added: 'I went through a lot of f****** trauma. And I had to learn myself. Before I even got with somebody, I had to learn myself. I had to come at peace with myself, and I had to shed a lot of f****** tears so I could finally be like, 'Yeah, I'm feeling good.' And I'm sharing that.' 'Let me share that because this is really my life, that everybody having a f****** opinion on. So shut the f*** up.'
