Cardi B sets the summer on fire with bold comeback single ‘Outside'

Cardi B is officially back, and she's not easing into the spotlight. With her new single 'Outside,' released on June 20, 2025, the rapper delivers a blazing anthem that blends summer heat with lyrical fire, marking her first solo drop of the year. Cardi's post for the track To tease the new track, Cardi wrote on her social media page, 'We OUTSIDE this Friday!!' She also shared the song's photo art, which features the remains of a summer block party in New York City, including an overflowing fire hydrant and red Solo cups, dominoes, and blunt wrappers spread across the ground. The track production The track is produced by 'Charlie Heat,' 'HeyMicki,' and DJ 'SwanQo,' and it turned into a bold re-entry into the rap scene after a really quiet 2024. From the opening beat, 'Outside' pulses with Cardi's signature bravado. The chorus '(I'm goin' out) On the pop out (Side) 'Cause it's hot out / (I'm goin' out) You was playin' gamеs, (Side) Now you on time-out,'—sets the tone for a song that's equal parts party starter and personal statement. Cardy aims at her ex Lyrically, Cardi doesn't hold back. She takes aim at her ex-partners and double standards with lines like, 'When I tell you these ns ain't st, please believe me / They gon' f** on anything, these n***s way too easy.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What She Did Mid-Air Left Passengers Speechless medalmerit Learn More Undo The verses are raw, unapologetic, and covered with the kind of punchy one-liners that have made her a cultural force. The single's cover art is a visual love letter to New York City summers, red cups, random food, and the glamour of a party in full swing. It's nostalgic, aggressive, and undoubtedly Cardi. 'Outside' also arrives with a wave of expectation for her long-awaited sophomore album about the sophomores, the follow-up to 2018's 'Invasion of Privacy.' While Cardi has hinted that delays are due to pending collaborations, this solo release proves she doesn't need anyone else to make a statement. The live show Fans got a sneak peek of the track earlier this week when Cardi performed it live at an experience hosted by the most used song application during the Cannes Lions festival in France. The performance, paired with her social media teaser—'We OUTSIDE this Friday'—sent her fandom into a pure madness. With 'Outside,' Cardi B isn't just dropping a song—she's reclaiming her throne. It's a reminder that when she steps out, she does it loud, proud, and on her own terms.

Yesterday (May 21st), the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) announced that multiplatinum, Grammy-winning superstar Cardi B will be honored with the distinguished ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award. The Bronx native made history in 2020 as the first woman to receive the esteemed ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year Award two years in a row. This added to her multiple ASCAP accolades, including eight ASCAP Pop Music Awards and a whopping 23 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards. Five years later, the world-renowned rapper returns to accept the ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award, which is presented to ASCAP members who have had a major influence on music and culture, to recognize their success as creators and change makers. Among her seemingly endless list of accomplishments, she stands as the highest-certified female rapper of all time on the RIAA's 'Top Artists (Digital Singles)' ranking, the female rap artist with the most RIAA diamond certifications, and the only female rapper with multiple billion-streamers on Spotify. On the platform, her chart-topping, Grammy-winning, four-times RIAA platinum-certified debut album, Invasion of Privacy , remains the most-streamed album by a female rap artist to date. All 13 tracks on Invasion of Privacy are now certified at least platinum, and the smash 2018 album also includes the history-making diamond-certified 'Bodak Yellow.' With an extensive list of awards, nominations and high-profile honors, Cardi B's additional nods include nine total Grammy Award nominations, eight Billboard Music Awards, six Guinness World Records, five Spotify One Billion Streams Awards, six American Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, three iHeartRadio Titanium Awards, six BET Awards, 14 BET Hip Hop Awards, inclusion on TIME 's 'TIME100: The 100 Most Influential People of 2018,' being named Entertainment Weekly 's 2018 'Entertainer of the Year' and Billboard 's 2020 'Woman of the Year,' along with countless other triumphs. 'Cardi B has left an indelible mark on the culture of hip-hop by redefining and challenging the norms for women,' said ASCAP Chairman of the Board and President Paul Williams. 'Having broken through countless barriers with her unapologetic authenticity and talent, she continues to use her voice to advocate for and inspire others, a true testament to her undeniable impact. We are proud to present Cardi B with this year's ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award.'
