James Gunn confirms 'Superman' runtime, debunks studio interference rumors
James Gunn, head of DC Studios, has officially confirmed the runtime for his highly anticipated film Superman and refuted claims of studio intervention regarding its length. The director took to Instagram Threads to address a user's query about the film's duration.
"Inclusive of credits/post credits the runtime is 2 hours 9 minutes," Gunn stated in his direct reply, making a clarification on the widely discussed figure.
Gunn also tackled another persistent rumour: that Warner Bros requested him to reduce the film's length. He dismissed this outright, asserting, "Zero truth to that. And they couldn't even if that's something that they wanted to (do). It's a DC Studios film.' His strong denial emphasises the creative control DC Studios maintains over its productions.
Gunn serves as the writer and director of Superman, previously titled Superman: Legacy. David Corenswet steps into the iconic role of the titular Man of Steel, with Rachel Brosnahan starring opposite him as Lois Lane. Nicholas Hoult portrays the film's antagonist, the brilliant yet megalomaniacal Lex Luthor.
The ensemble cast also features Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific. Superman is Gunn's first film as the head of DC Studios and the first solo outing for the Son of Krypton in over a decade.
The last standalone Superman film, Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, reportedly grossed $670 million globally and initiated a connected DC universe that included titles such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, The Flash, and Wonder Woman. That timeline concluded with 2023's Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Superman is slated to hit theaters on July 11.

James Gunn opens up about his favourite DC project which has 'not been announced at all'
Washington, DC [US], June 20 (ANI): DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has many projects in the pipeline, with his 'Superman' releasing July 11, season 2 of 'Peacemaker' nearly wrapped for an August premiere, and the 'Lanterns' HBO series halfway through filming, reported Variety. However, Gunn is also working on a few TV and film projects, which he has not revealed yet. One project in particular, he kept very quiet because he didn't want anyone to steal the idea, Gunn said, "My favourite thing has not been announced at was one thing that I knew about from the very beginning, that when I pitched to David Zaslav what the DCU would be, I pitched to him, but we did not announce in that first meeting because I felt like it was too easy to rip off by another company. And so that's one of the main things." Gunn said he'll "probably" direct one of his new mystery projects. "Well, I always leave saying I'm going to direct something till I'm actually done with the screenplay, and then I say, 'Yeah, I want to do this.' But it's probably what I will direct. Yeah, probably, to be totally realistic. Yes, probably," he said, reported Variety. The ace director shared that when a well-known actor pitched him a project, he told him he was looking for a "masterpiece." "I told it to one person who came in and pitched something that was an Elseworlds tale," he said. "It was a very, very, very famous movie actor. I said, 'It depends on how the screenplay comes it's a masterpiece, I'll make it, but it has to be a masterpiece.' And he is like, 'I don't know if it's a masterpiece.' He got all funny. He's still working on it, though. He is still trying to do it, so we'll see. Masterpiece might be pushing it, but it's got to be really great." Gunn didn't just tease upcoming movies. He also mentioned another "favourite thing" that's a TV project. "Then there's another TV show that's my favourite thing in all of this, that is hopefully getting made soon," he said. "It's just my favourite thing. And then there's the s--! I don't know what I'm allowed to say or not say, but there are a couple of other movies that are being written, one of which is in pretty good shape, another which is kind of closer to the start, but we feel positive about. And then there's a thing I'm writing, which I think it's okay.... So what will be the next thing after 'Clayface' is not 100 per cent certain, but it's pretty certain," reported Variety. (ANI)

Who is Terrance ‘T.A.' Dixon? Ex-hypeman who filed a lawsuit against rapper Fat Joe
Terrance 'T.A.' Dixon, a name not widely known outside music circles until recently, has come into the spotlight after filing a bombshell lawsuit against Bronx-born rapper Fat Joe. Dixon was Fat Joe's hype man for 16 years, amping up crowds, working closely on tours, and sharing in the energy of live performances. He, also known in the music world as Population One, is better known among electronic music fans for his minimal techno beats. Based in Detroit, Dixon has carved a niche for himself in the underground techno scene, with releases on iconic labels like Tresor and Metroplex. ALSO READ| James Gunn's Superman set to soar at US box office with $135 million opening: Early tracking On Thursday, in a 157-page lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Dixon accused Fat 'Joseph Antonio Cartagena' Joe of a litany of disturbing abuses. Among the most serious claims are 'coercive labour exploitation, financial fraud, sexual manipulation, violent intimidation, and psychological coercion.' Dixon is seeking up to $20 million in damages. The lawsuit details years of alleged abuse, including sexual coercion under duress, surveillance-based humiliation, and forced participation in acts Dixon says he never consented to. 'These sex-based abuses were not private, incidental, or isolated,' the complaint alleges. It also claims Fat Joe used his influence to silence and control those around him. Even more shocking are Dixon's allegations that he witnessed Fat Joe engage in sexual acts with underage girls. The lawsuit names three alleged minors and includes graphic descriptions. 'The allegations against Mr. Cartagena are complete fabrications — lies intended to damage his reputation and force a settlement through public pressure,' said his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, per Variety. 'Mr. Cartagena will not be intimidated.' Dixon's lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn, who has a history of filing lawsuits against celebrities, told The Independent, 'Fat Joe is Sean Combs minus the Tusi.' Blackburn added, 'He learned nothing from his 2013 federal conviction.' 'We didn't just sue a disgruntled former employee trying to revive a false claim from 15 years ago — we sued the lawyer behind it all,' said Tacopina, adding that Blackburn is under scrutiny for unethical legal conduct.
