Returning action show with "close-shave thrills" drops new episodes on Netflix today
Action comedy series FUBAR has returned on Netflix with new episodes.
The series, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, follows a CIA agent who learns that his adult daughter is also secretly working for the CIA, before they are paired up for an undercover mission.
Two years after the first season debuted, the second has dropped all eight episodes as of today.
Alongside Schwarzenegger, the series features A Complete Unknown's Monica Barbaro, as well as Warped!'s Milan Carter, The Mindy Project's Fortune Feimster, and You's Travis Van Winkle.
After its debut, FUBAR was quickly renewed for a second season, having attracted big viewing figures of 88.94 million hours in its first four days of release.

Speaking after the renewal news, Schwarzenegger said on social media: "It was really interesting how many of the fans loved the last episode. Because the interesting thing is, it is also my favourite episode. I don't want to give it away, but there is some really wild stuff and it really sets it up for the next season."
The first season of the show garnered a more mixed reception with critics, however, earning a 50% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes from 58 reviews.
"This is a fun, fundamentally unserious save-the-world romp with close-shave thrills, nonsensical plots and breezy comic relief. But that's it and that's all," wrote the Financial Times.

The Evening Standard added: "It's fairly standard fare which is a perfectly acceptable vehicle for Arnie coming back, but which also feels a little bit like a wasted opportunity."
In a more scathing review, USA Today called the show an "embarrassment", adding: "The series is all cliché, followed by painful cringe and then rounded out by dumbfounded confusion. There are humans talking, but I don't believe humans wrote the dialogue."
FUBAR seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Netflix.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Thinks THE RUNNING MAN Remake Could Actually Be Better Than His 1987 Film — GeekTyrant
Arnold Schwarzenegger is the first to admit his The Running Man adaptation had room for improvement. While promoting FUBAR Season 2 in a new interview with Grae Drake for CBR Presents: DRAW!, the action legend opened up about the 1987 cult sci-fi film and his honest take on the upcoming Edgar Wright remake. Schwarzenegger said of the original film: 'It was great, but it could have been better. I think it would have been great if we would have been better prepared for this movie, if we would have had more money… the visual effects, the technology of visual effects, that they have today, all of those things I wished after the movie came out.' As for the remake, Schwarzenegger seems genuinely hopeful it will take the concept to the next level. 'I love the idea that they're doing a sequel to Running Man, or a remake. I don't know what it's going to be…I think that they have a good chance now with the new Running Man to make it better. And I hope, for their sake and for my sake, I hope that they will be successful.' The original film, directed by Paul Michael Glaser and based loosely on the Stephen King novel written under the Richard Bachman pseudonym, followed Ben Richards (Schwarzenegger), a wrongly convicted man forced to survive a deadly game show for entertainment. The cast included Maria Conchita Alonso, Jesse Ventura, Yaphet Kotto, and Richard Dawson in a truly unhinged performance as the game's host. Now, Edgar Wright is stepping into the arena, bringing his signature style to the remake. Co-written with Michael Bacall, the film stars Glen Powell as Richards, joined by a wild ensemble including Katy O'Brian, Michael Cera, Lee Pace, Josh Brolin, William H. Macy, and Colman Domingo. With today's tech, a bigger budget, and Wright behind the camera, the world The Running Man with its dystopian media, violent spectacle, corporate control feels even more relevant now. The idea that this remake could tap into that with more bite is pretty exciting. The Running Man remake is set to hit theaters on November 7, 2025.

This romantic drama that makes me swoon every time is leaving Netflix soon — catch it before it's gone
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Given the sheer size and scope of Netflix's catalogue, the popular streaming service changes up its selection of TV series and films frequently, which means that you always have something new to watch — but also that some of our favorites unfortunately have to leave the platform to make room. That's the case with this month, which will see one of the best LGBTQ+ romances of the past decade sadly saying farewell to the streamer: "Carol," the 2015 historical romantic drama directed by Todd Haynes and starring Cate Blanchett and Roonie Mara, will leave Netflix on Tuesday, June 17. But before it goes, you should add the emotional, sumptuous queer movie — centered on a forbidden affair between an aspiring female photographer and an older woman going through a difficult divorce — to your next watch list, especially since Pride Month is quickly passing by. If you need even more convincing, find out more about the acclaimed drama below. Based on the 1952 romance novel "The Price of Salt" by Patricia Highsmith and set over the Christmas season, "Carol" sees Rooney Mara play Therese Belivet, an aspiring photographer who is working in Frankenberg's department store in Manhattan when she encounters a glamorous older woman named Carol Aird (Cate Blanchett), who is searching for a doll for her daughter. When Carol leaves behind a glove on the counter, Therese mails it back to her using her name and address on file at the store. That fateful meeting, though, turns into something more when Carol calls Frankenberg's to thank Therese for returning her glove and to invite her to lunch. Their relationship grows over charged trips to Carol's home in New Jersey and clandestine meetings in New York but is complicated by the fact that Carol is in the midst of a divorce from her husband Harge (Kyle Chandler), who is threatening to expose her homosexuality publicly so he could gain full custody of their daughter. Nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Blanchett, "Carol" was widely lauded by awards bodies and professional critics alike. On Rotten Tomatoes, the drama boasts an excellent 94% rating and was the best-reviewed romance film of all of 2015 in the site's annual Golden Tomato Awards. Aided by Haynes' deliberate pacing, the two extraordinary lead actresses offer a heart-stopping portrait of romantic desire, built by careful gestures and stolen glances, two women navigating a world that isn't the most understanding about their sex or their sexuality. For the Los Angeles Times, Kenneth Turan wrote that their love affair is "a serious melodrama about the geometry of desire, a dreamy example of heightened reality that fully engages emotions despite the exact calculations with which it's been made... "Carol's" lush but controlled visual look is completely intoxicating. This is filmmaking done by masters, an experience to savor." One watch, and you'll fall in love with "Carol," too. ‘Fubar' Season 2 Debut Barely Makes Netflix Weekly TV List Amid Steep Audience Decline As ‘Ginny & Georgia' Remains On Top
Arnold Schwarzenegger's FUBAR returned for its second season last week, but it appears audiences had other streaming priorities. Season 2 generated about 2.2M views in its opening weekend after debuting on June 12, placing it at No. 10 on the weekly Netflix Top 10 English TV charts. That's quite a fall from grace compared to the first season, which racked up about 11M views during its own premiere weekend back in May 2023. More from Deadline 'The Mortician' Becomes HBO's Most-Watched Documentary Series In Over 5 Years 'Land Of The Lost' Series Reboot In Works At Netflix From Legendary Television 'Love Island USA' Season 7 Sets New Bar For Series, Soaring Past 1B Minutes Viewed In Week After Debut, Per Luminate Instead, Ginny & Georgia Season 3 was the big winner, managing 16.9M views from June 9 to 15. It was comfortably atop the English TV list for the week. Once again, Seasons 1 and 2 also benefitted from the popularity of the new season. Season 2 came in fifth place with 4.2M views, while Season 1 took sixth with 3.3M. In second place was The Survivors, an Australian whodunit series that tallied 9M views in its second week on the streamer. Sirens also continued to perform fairly well, coming in third place with 4.3M views. That was closely followed by crime thriller Dept. Q in fourth place, also with 4.3M views. As for the film side of things, Tyler Perry's Straw picked up an impressive 48.9M views, making it both the biggest week this year for a movie and the biggest week for a 2025 launch. That's a positive sign that we may see it eventually land among Netflix's most popular English films of all time. Audiences also revisited the OceanGate submersible disaster in the new Netflix documentary Titan, which premiered recently at Tribeca Film Festival. The film took in 17.4M views, putting it at No. 2 on the weekly English films list.
