I tried hand held fans – my bargain winner keeps you cool AND can be used as a phone stand
Find out which bargain winner was our favourite FAN OF YOU I tried hand held fans – my bargain winner keeps you cool AND can be used as a phone stand AFTER months spent moaning about the cold and rain, warmer weather has finally hit the UK. And whilst you might invest in cooling bedding and tower fans for the home, having a portable fan in your pocket or handbag could be a lifesaver for many. 8 Consumer reporter Lynsey Hope tries out six different household fans Credit: Oliver Dixon 8 Lynsey was blown away by the bargain winner which cost less than £11 Credit: Oliver Dixon Many can sit on your desk at work, or hang around your neck as you swelter on public transport. Lynsey Hope tested dozens to find out which were most effective - and her best buy was less than £11. Here, she reveals her favourites: Bush Black Portable and Handheld Fan £15, 8 This Bush fan has a sleek design and is small enough to fit into your handbag Credit: Oliver Dixon Easy to operate with a single push button control and it has three speed settings, which varied enough to allow users to customise to their desired level of cooling. The folding handle meant you could sit it on a table or desk for hands-free cooling and you could vary the angle to suit. It's a sleek, inoffensive design and was small enough to fit into a handbag. The best thing about this, however, was the battery life, which was brilliant. It could last up to 18 hours on a single charge. Performance: 4/5 Value: 3/5 Overall score: 7/10 John Lewis Anyday Handheld and Portable Desk Fan £12, 8 This one was impressive for how powerful it is despite its small size Credit: Oliver Dixon Quite impressed with this little gem. It was a handy size for putting into a handbag, so was a lifesaver for travelling on hot days and it's lightweight too. You can also fold it and put it on your desk or I sometimes used it whilst I was doing my hair or make-up to stop me getting hot. There are three speeds to choose from and it performed well even on the lowest setting. I was surprised how powerful the third setting was given its compact size. It's easy to charge and the cable is included. It comes in a range of stylish colours so is great if you need a fan for events and meals out. Performance: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Overall score: 9/10 Mountain Warehouse Foldable Hand Held Fan £13.99, 8 This one felt a bit flimsy and it wasn't as powerful as other models Credit: Oliver Dixon The stand on this wasn't wonderful - it kept wobbling over and it felt a bit flimsy compared to other, cheaper options. It did come with a strap if you want to wear it, as well as a USB cable. It also has five speed settings but I didn't find them as powerful as they were on other models. The sound was quite loud and shrill. It can run for up to 10 hours once fully charged. Performance: 3/5 Value: 3/5 Overall score: 6/10 Vonhaus 3 in 1 Handheld Fan £10.99, 8 The Vonhaus version was Lynsey's favourite - and you can even prop your phone on it Credit: Oliver Dixon Beat the heat with this brilliant little fan from Vonhaus, which was my favourite on this list. For less than £11, this fan comes with a lanyard strap, foldable neck and stand and it has five speed settings. You could pop it on your desk, or hold it, or use the lanyard to wear it around your neck. What's more, the stand even has a lip so you can prop your phone on it, taking Zoom calls with a pleasant breeze. It's easy to use - simply go through the settings by using the single button on the front. It's not too noisy either. For less than £11, it's a real bargain. Performance: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Overall score: 10/10 JisuLife Handheld Mini Fan £19.99, 8 This one is a bit fiddly to open and close but it's great value for money Credit: Oliver Dixon If all you want is something to keep you cool, there are better options than this. The fan has two speed settings which do provide a bit of airflow to keep you cool, though not the most powerful in our test. It's a little fiddly to open and close and it makes a surprising amount of noise for such a small device. However, it does have some extra features that make it good value for money. It doubles up as a power bank and it has a surprisingly strong flashlight built in - incredible given its size. The battery power was also great, lasting up to 21 hours. Performance: 3/5 Value: 4/5 Overall score: 7/10 Travel Log Rechargeable Handy Fan £6, 8 This one is good for a quick fix but its battery life could have been better Credit: Oliver Dixon Surprisingly powerful for £6, this fan from Tesco has three settings and was very easy to operate and did a decent job of keeping me cool. It has three settings, and it comes with a wrist strap and USB cable. The battery life could have been better. Even when fully charged, this one only lasted two and a half hours and it took 90 minutes to charge. For a quick fix, though, it's ok. It doesn't look as fancy as others, but it did the job. Performance: 2/5 Value: 4/5 Overall score: 6/10

John Galsworthy's novel series The Forsyte Saga is coming back for a new reboot, which has just received a major update. Running for two seasons across 2002 and 2003, The Forsyte Saga's cast also includes Homeland's Damian Lewis, Sherlock's Rupert Graves, Bad Boys: Ride or Die's Ioan Gruffudd, and Andor's Ben Miles. It follows the titular well-off family, with a specific focus on the arrogant Soames, who is in loveless marriage with Irene and views his wife as a possession more than a person. Related: Best streaming services in 2025 When news of her affair breaks, the family is engulfed in scandal. McGee, who played Jackie Laverty in the first season of Line of Duty, took on the role of Irene in ITV's adaptation – the character being played by Gibson in Channel 5's new reboot. Related: There is no release window for the new version just yet, but is expected to air this year. Filming for the second season has already begun in Bristol. As well as Gibson, the rebooted version will star Joshua Orpin, Francesca Annis, Jack Davenport, Stephen Moyer, Tuppence Middleton and Eleanor Tomlinson, with Galsworthy's novels being adapted by Debbie Horsfield. Returning action show with "close-shave thrills" drops new episodes on Netflix today
Action comedy series FUBAR has returned on Netflix with new episodes. The series, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, follows a CIA agent who learns that his adult daughter is also secretly working for the CIA, before they are paired up for an undercover mission. Two years after the first season debuted, the second has dropped all eight episodes as of today. Alongside Schwarzenegger, the series features A Complete Unknown's Monica Barbaro, as well as Warped!'s Milan Carter, The Mindy Project's Fortune Feimster, and You's Travis Van Winkle. After its debut, FUBAR was quickly renewed for a second season, having attracted big viewing figures of 88.94 million hours in its first four days of release. Related: Best streaming services Speaking after the renewal news, Schwarzenegger said on social media: "It was really interesting how many of the fans loved the last episode. Because the interesting thing is, it is also my favourite episode. I don't want to give it away, but there is some really wild stuff and it really sets it up for the next season." The first season of the show garnered a more mixed reception with critics, however, earning a 50% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes from 58 reviews. "This is a fun, fundamentally unserious save-the-world romp with close-shave thrills, nonsensical plots and breezy comic relief. But that's it and that's all," wrote the Financial Times. Related: The Evening Standard added: "It's fairly standard fare which is a perfectly acceptable vehicle for Arnie coming back, but which also feels a little bit like a wasted opportunity." In a more scathing review, USA Today called the show an "embarrassment", adding: "The series is all cliché, followed by painful cringe and then rounded out by dumbfounded confusion. There are humans talking, but I don't believe humans wrote the dialogue." FUBAR seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Netflix. Digital Spy's first print magazine is here! Dune 3 gets an exciting filming update which will reassure fans
Dune fans who are eagerly awaiting the third instalment will be pleased to hear that filming should be underway very, very soon. According to Deadline, filming on Dune 3 will begin in July which tracks with previous reports that the production was aiming for a summer start. Last July Dune 3's release date was confirmed for 18 December, 2026 and hopefully the film should still be on track to come out as planned. Dune 3 will see Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya and Florence Pugh all returning to the franchise. Pugh's character Princess Irulan is expected to take on a bigger role in the third instalment with director Denis Villeneuve previously comparing her importance to Zendaya's character Chani. Related: Best streaming services in 2025 He told Moviefone: "Of course, if there's a Dune Messiah as we plan, [Irulan will] become one of the prominent characters of that whole series. I'm doing a bit of what I did with Zendaya in the first movie. "I introduced Chani in Dune and then she becomes one of the main characters in Part Two. I do the same with Florence, I just introduced her in Part Two and if there's a Dune Messiah, she becomes one of the main characters." One more surprising name that will also be back is Jason Momoa whose character Duncan Idaho died in the first movie and was not present in the second. Related: Dune 3 will adapt Frank Herbert's 1969 novel Dune Messiah where Momoa's character Idaho is cloned and brought back to life as an artificially created human known as a ghola. The cast of Dune 3 may also have a big name addition as in April it was reported that Robert Pattinson had been offered a role, though his casting has not yet been confirmed. Dune 3 will be released on December 18, 2026. Dune: Part Two is available to buy in the UK from , , and more. Digital Spy's first print magazine is here! Coronation Street reveals a dark change for Dylan in early ITVX episode
follow from , which is available to watch now on ITVX but hasn't yet aired on ITV1. Coronation Street's Dylan Wilson turns threatening in tonight's episode after being released from the Secure Training Centre. Dylan is given a chance for a fresh start after serving his time in the STC, but it seems that his troubles are far from over as he continues his feud with Brody Michaelis. As Dylan settles back into Weatherfield life, he insists on a low-key comeback and turns down his dad Sean's ideas for a celebration. Dylan suggests a quick lunch at the café instead, but when Brody pops in, it's clear that it won't be easy for the lads to live in such close proximity to each other. Related: Sean frets over Brody's presence, promising Dylan that he won't let him get hurt. Darkly, Dylan responds that Brody is the one who needs to be worried – feeling cocky after previously beating up his rival during their time together in the STC. Later, Dylan goes further by following Brody to the ginnel and laying down a few ground rules now that he's back. Dylan warns: "You won't be giving me any orders. Pushing me around. Making me feel small. That's done with, right? "This is the only warning you're going to get, you understand? You see me coming, cross the road." Related: Dylan's menacing moment is interrupted when Glenda Shuttleworth comes round the back of The Rovers, which prevents the situation from getting out of hand. Has Dylan changed after his time in the STC – and if so, how will Sean cope with his son's behaviour? Coronation Street airs these scenes tonight at 8pm on ITV1, or the episode is also streaming now on Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
