Special Disability Certificate Camps Scheduled Throughout June at Gadwal District Hospital
Gadwal: The District Rural Development Officer, Mr. Narsinga Rao, has announced that special medical camps are being organized throughout the month of June at the District Government Hospital to issue new disability certificates and renewals for eligible persons with disabilities.
These camps will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday during the month of June. Eligible individuals must pre-book their slots through MeeSeva centers before attending the camp. Those with confirmed bookings are instructed to appear on the scheduled date with all relevant medical reports, newly taken X-rays, and their UDID (Unique Disability ID). Failure to produce the required documents will lead to disqualification.
Mr. Narsinga Rao further informed that the disability certificates will be issued on the same day to those who attend with complete documentation.
The schedule for the camps is as follows:
Tuesdays (June 3, 10, 17, 24): For individuals with visual impairments
Wednesdays (June 4, 11, 18, 25): For those with physical disabilities
Thursdays (June 5, 12, 19, 26): For individuals with both physical and mental disabilities
Fridays (June 6, 13, 20, 27): For individuals with hearing and speech impairments
The initiative aims to streamline the certification process and ensure timely support for differently-abled individuals in the district.

Caregiver support scheme likely for those with benchmark disabilities
New Delhi: To help persons with benchmark disabilities having serious mobility issues, Delhi govt is working on a proposal to provide them with financial assistance to avail themselves of the services of caregivers. "The project was discussed in the cabinet once. We will finalise the proposal soon and place it before the council of ministers again for approval," Singh said. The minister added the kin of persons with a benchmark disability of 80% or more would be provided with financial assistance, benefitting nearly 1,000 families. The department will soon conduct a survey on the number of people who will get the aid. Though the exact amount of the aid was yet to be finalised, the minister said, it could be around Rs 5,000. Delhi govt currently provides a monthly pension of Rs 2,500 to the disabled, but this amount is often too little for people from disadvantaged sections. Persons with benchmark disabilities are those who have not less than 40% of a specified disability, as per the disability certificate or the UDID card. There are 21 disabilities categorised, including locomotor disability, intellectual disability, mental illness, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, among others.

Gadwal Officials Mobilize Precautionary Measures to Curb Seasonal Diseases Ahead of Monsoon
Gadwal: In view of the rising threat of seasonal diseases due to early monsoon rains, Jogulamba Gadwal District Additional Collector Narsinga Rao has instructed health and municipal officials to initiate proactive preventive measures. Participating in a seasonal disease awareness program organized by the Medical and Health Department at the IDOC Conference Hall on Friday, Additional Collector Narsinga Rao emphasized the need for increased vigilance. Speaking on the occasion, he said that early rains this year could lead to the spread of seasonal diseases like malaria, dengue, chikungunya, and filariasis. He urged officials to implement all necessary measures to prevent the outbreak and spread of these illnesses. The Additional Collector stressed the importance of maintaining hygiene in every village and municipal ward, ensuring that rainwater does not stagnate. In view of the reopening of schools on June 12, he directed that sanitation drives be undertaken at schools, hostels, and Anganwadi centers. He also instructed that 'Dry Day' activities be conducted every Friday, including cleaning of drinking water tanks with bleaching powder. Special focus should be placed on sanitation efforts, such as clearing garbage heaps and cleaning drains regularly, he added. The meeting was attended by District Medical and Health Officer Siddappa, DPO Nagendram, Mission Bhagiratha Intra EE Sridhar Reddy, DBO Sunanda, Fisheries Department Officer Shakeel Bhanu, municipal commissioners, concerned medical officials, and other staff.
