NEW DELHI:
Nationalist Congress Party
(Sharadchandra Pawar) [NCP (SP)] chief
Sharad Pawar
on Tuesday said that the split in the NCP, which he co-established 26 years ago, was unforeseen.
Speaking at the foundation day event of the party, Pawar reflected on the party's journey and the recent split that occurred in 2023.
"The party faced some challenges, but you (party workers), without getting discouraged, continue to take the party ahead. A split occurred in the party. We never thought that a split would take place in the party, but it happened," he said at an event commemorating the NCP's 26th foundation day.
"Some people went with other ideologies, and this split widened. I do not want to talk about it today. But those who remained loyal to the party, it was because of our party's ideology," the NCP (SP) chief added.
Pawar projected optimistic outcomes for upcoming elections, highlighting that unity within the party and dedication to public welfare are key to success. "Do not dwell on who has left or who has joined. If we stay united and remain committed to the common people, we will not face any problems," Pawar said.
Pawar mentioned that many of his party workers are committed to public service and are the party's strength. He said, "Don't worry about power.

If we remain united, power will follow. I can see that possibility emerging in the state."
The NCP was formed by Sharad Pawar in 1999. The party split in July 2023 when Sharad Pawar's nephew,
Ajit Pawar
, joined the Shiv Sena-BJP coalition government. The Election Commission assigned the NCP name and its clock symbol to the Ajit Pawar faction. Sharad Pawar's faction was named NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) thereafter.

Cong team visits Gopalpur beach, meets locals, SP

1 2 Berhampur: A five-member all-women Congress fact-finding team on Saturday visited Gopalpur beach in Ganjam district, where a 20-year-old college student was allegedly gang-raped by 10 men, including four juveniles, on June 15. The team, led by AICC general secretary Deepa Dasmunshi, visited the crime scene and interacted with locals about the state of police patrolling. The delegation also held discussions with SP (Berhampur), Saravana Vivek M. Rajya Sabha MP Ranjeet Ranjan, a team member, condemned the incident. "The area lacks adequate lighting and police presence despite being a major tourist spot," the MP said. The team, which includes MPs Praniti Shinde, S Jothimani and former spokesperson Shobha Oza, will tour other areas in the state over the next three days to document incidents of violence against women. "We will submit our findings to the AICC and also meet President Droupadi Murmu," Ranjan added. She alleged the state govt failed to take women's safety seriously, citing the suspension of Congress MLAs from the assembly after they demanded a debate and committee on the matter. "At least three gang-rape cases have been reported in just a week," she added. Former Berhampur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu said the BJD was the first to protest against the incident. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo "Several former MLAs met the SP and demanded swift action. BJD president and former CM Naveen Patnaik expressed concern over such an incident taking place at a tourist spot," he said. BJP Ganjam district president Saroj Sabat said the state govt had declared the gang-rape case as a 'red flag' offence. He said the crime branch is investigating the case under the supervision of an IG-rank officer, as directed by chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Why Chinese hackers have unleashed cyberattacks on 'friend Russia' since Ukraine conflict, what 'war secrets' are behind these attacks

AI Image Cyber analysts have reportedly discovered a strange cyberwarfare trend. According to a report by New York Times, quoting security researchers, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, groups linked to the Chinese government have repeatedly hacked Russian companies and government agencies in an apparent search for military secrets. There has been increase in Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Chinese government-linked hackers have repeatedly targeted Russian companies and government agencies, seeking military secrets, according to the New York Times report. The cyberattacks, which intensified in May 2022, have persisted despite public declarations of a 'no-limits' partnership between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Chinese hacking groups 'targetting' Russian businesses The report claims that a Chinese hacking group, Sanyo, impersonated a Russian engineering firm's email addresses in 2023 to steal data on nuclear submarines, as uncovered by Taiwan-based cybersecurity firm TeamT5, which linked the attack to Beijing. 'China likely seeks to gather intelligence on Russia's activities, including on its military operation in Ukraine, defense developments and other geopolitical maneuvers,' TeamT5 researcher Che Chang told the Times. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo A classified Russian FSB document, obtained by The New York Times, reveals Moscow's concerns about China's pursuit of Russian defense technology and battlefield insights, labeling China an 'enemy.' This contrasts with the public Sino-Russian alliance, as Russia relies on China for oil markets and war-critical technology. The document highlights China's interest in drone warfare and software, noting that 'the war in Ukraine fundamentally shifted intelligence priorities for both countries,' according to Itay Cohen of Palo Alto Networks, as quoted by the Times. What techniques Chinese hackers are said to be using against Russia The New York Times also reports that Chinese hackers targeted Rostec, Russia's state-owned defense conglomerate, for satellite communications and radar data, using malicious Microsoft Word files to infiltrate aviation and state entities. Groups like Mustang Panda, suspected of ties to China's Ministry of State Security, have hit Russian military and border units, the Times notes, citing Rafe Pilling of Sophos. Pilling told the Times, 'The targeting we've observed tends to be political and military intelligence gathering.' Proprietary malware like Deed RAT, used by Chinese state-sponsored hackers, has been deployed against Russian aerospace and defense sectors, the report said, citing Positive Technologies. Despite 2009 and 2015 agreements barring mutual cyberattacks, the Times notes that experts view these as symbolic, with hacking spiking post-Ukraine invasion. 'The activity — we saw it immediately in the months following Russia's full-scale invasion,' Cohen told the Times, highlighting the tension beneath the public narrative of Sino-Russian unity. Israel-Iran war: US moves B-2 bombers to Guam, one aircraft can carry 30000-pound bunker-buster bombs

Several B2 bombers reportedly moved to Guam amid Israel-Iran war. Several US Air Force B-2 bombers reportedly have taken off from a base in the United States and moved toward the Pacific island of Guam while President Donald Trump has taken two weeks' time to decide whether the US should take part in Israel's strikes against Iran. Flight tracker data showed the B-2 aircraft, which can carry the 30,000-pound bunker-buster bombs Trump is considering deploying against Iran's underground nuclear facilities in Fordo, taking off from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. What is a B-2 bomber? The B-2 Spirit is a long-range, stealth strategic bomber developed by Northrop Grumman for the United States Air Force. Introduced in 1997, it features a distinctive flying wing design and radar-absorbing materials that allow it to evade detection and penetrate heavily defended enemy airspace. Capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear weapons, the B-2 can deliver up to 40,000 pounds of ordnance and fly more than 6,000 nautical miles without refueling. Operated by a two-person crew, it plays a vital role in U.S. military strategy and nuclear deterrence. With only 21 ever built and a unit cost exceeding $2 billion, it is one of the most advanced and expensive aircraft in the world. Will Trump deploy bunker buster bombs if the US decides to join the strike? According to reports, Trump suggested to defense officials that it would only make sense for the US to launch strikes against Iran if the bunker buster bomb was guaranteed to destroy the Fordown facility embedded in the mountains. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The Guardian reported that Trump was told that dropping the GBU-57s, a 13.6-tonne (30,000lb) bomb would effectively eliminate Fordow but he does not appear to be fully convinced, the people said, and has held off authorizing strikes as he also awaits the possibility that the threat of US involvement would lead Iran to talks. Earlier Saturday, Israel launched a wave of airstrikes against missile sites and a nuclear facility in Iran and claimed its strikes had killed three commanders of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, the most powerful military force in the country.
