'I've kept Diana's secrets for decades - here's what she told me after divorce'
Princess Diana's former personal trainer, Jenni Rivett, has revealed that she used to implore the Princess not to divulge her secrets, for a deeply saddening reason.
Jenni, 65, was closely involved with Diana during what was arguably the most turbulent time in the royal's life, as her marriage disintegrated in the public eye.
Diana and King Charles - then Prince of Wales - found themselves embroiled in a PR skirmish often referred to as the 'War of the Waleses'. They were both trying to present their side of the story to the public amidst their bitter separation.
As Diana's personal trainer, Jenni had a front-row seat to the Princess's life during this challenging period. She worked with Diana for six years from 1991 to 1997, right up until the royal's premature and tragic death.
The pair had even scheduled further workout sessions for after Diana's planned return, reports the Mirror.
Tragically, Diana died in a car crash in Paris in August 1997 while on holiday with her then-boyfriend Dodi Fayed. Their driver, under the influence of alcohol, crashed the vehicle while attempting to evade paparazzi who were pursuing them.
All but one passenger perished in the accident.
Jenni and Diana had training sessions booked just days later - sessions that would never take place. The South African trainer learned the devastating news of her long-time client's death through a friend.
It's taken her nearly three decades to feel ready to talk about Diana and the cherished memories they created together.
Jenni shared with the Mail Online about her bond with Diana, revealing that their connection was strong but there were moments when she had to implore Diana to hold back on confiding too private details of her life.
"Sometimes Diana would tell me things so personal I would ask her: 'Please don't say any more because if it ends up in the papers tomorrow, you will think it was me.'
"I would give her the very best advice I could, yet I'd pinch myself – here I am, consultant to the Royal Family! But saying that, I knew my place. I never brought up subjects myself, I never overstepped the line, and I think she appreciated that," Jenni recalled.
She also disclosed that Diana's ultimate path wasn't what she had hoped for herself; in Diana's heart, what truly mattered were her husband and sons - Prince William and Prince Harry, who meant the world to her.
"Diana loved her boys; they were everything to her. She would have been devastated at what is going on between them today," Jenni added.
The initial contact with Jenni regarding training the "most famous woman in the world" came through a call from Diana's butler, Paul Burrell, which left Jenni feeling incredibly daunted at the prospect.
Training with Diana for three hours weekly, Jenni observed as the Princess worked on her fitness and witnessed a transformation, as Diana grew into a new chapter filled with confidence despite her tribulations.

Actress in grovelling apology after accusing Air India crash survivor of lying
An Indian film actress has been compelled to apologise publicly after alleging that the sole survivor of an Air India plane disaster was dishonest about his incredible escape. Suchitra Krishnamoorthi removed a contentious social media post in which she urged British man Vishwash Ramesh to face "some serious punishment" for allegedly fabricating his story. In her now-erased post, she questioned: "So this #vishwaskumarramesh lied about bng a passenger on the plane and the only survivor? This is seriously weird. Didn't his family in the UK corroborate his story?". She continued with her scepticism, asking: "What about his brother's funeral that he was seen giving kandha to? Deserve not only some serious punishment but some mental asylum time if this is true uff." Her remarks incited anger and prompted people to demand an explanation. She subsequently retracted her original post and issued an apology, reports the Mirror. Her statement of regret affirmed: "Took out my last tweet on the air india crash survivor. Seems to be false news circulated for God knows what reason. My apologies." The 40 year old British man, who had boarded Air India flight 171 destined for London Gatwick alongside his brother, miraculously survived when the aircraft crashed shortly after take-off, claiming the lives of all other passengers. The accident's lone survivor later related his feelings of "guilt" at having lived through the tragedy. Mr Ramesh has confided in friends about his profound grief, admitting he wishes he "was not alive" and tortured by thoughts that his brother might have lived. His brother Ajay was situated on the opposite end of the ill-fated Boeing 787 Dreamliner during the cataclysmic crash, while Mr Ramesh miraculously made it out with minor injuries after scrambling out through a gap in the fuselage. He agonizes over the thought that their chances of survival could have been doubled had they sat together as he had tried to arrange before the flight. The bereaved father lamented that he had attempted to secure adjacent seats, but his plans were thwarted because one was already occupied. Describing his heartbreaking ordeal, he said: "If we had been sat together we both might have survived. I tried to get two seats together but someone had already got one. Me and Ajay would have been sitting together." Haunted by the loss, he shared: "But I lost my brother in front of my eyes. So now I am constantly thinking 'Why can't I save my brother?' It's a miracle I survived." Bearing the emotional scars, he expressed: "I am okay physically but I feel terrible that I could not save Ajay." Mr Ramesh, who is also a father, reflected with despondence: "I wish I was not alive."

Wayne Lineker reacts after Conor McGregor allegedly punches 'close pal' at club
Wayne Lineker has shared his 'disappointment' at Conor McGregor after the MMA fighter allegedly punched his 'close friend' earlier this week. McGregor is alleged to have been involved in an altercation at Pacha nightclub in Ibiza on Sunday night. The Sun released footage where McGregor is seemingly leaning over to speak to an unidentified man on the dance floor. The man hit by what looks like a punch falls to the ground shortly afterwards. Almost immediately, several people close to McGregor step in to separate him from other partygoers, reports the Mirror. In a now deleted post on social media, Wayne Lineker identified the man McGregor punched, sharing his disappointment about the Dubliners alleged behaviour. He said: "I've since deleted my post of Conor at ocean on Sunday.' Lineker had previously welcomed McGregor to his O-Beach Club but removed the picture of McGregor with Wayne's brother, Gary, which was captioned: "@thenotoriousmma the man is back." Speaking after the alleged altercation, Wayne wrote: 'To say I'm disappointed is an understatement... we at @obeachibiza @obeachdubai will always put our family first #wearefamily,' he added. McGregor, 36, has now updated his social media for the first time since the alleged incident. The Dubliner took to his social media accounts with several updates. On Wednesday evening, he shared on X - formerly known as Twitter - "You won't speak bad about my country and its people and that's ever. Vote McGregor." Later on, the 'Notorious' shared multiple photos of himself on Instagram, including one with a group of lads and another where he's seen beneath an image of Al Pacino from the iconic 1983 movie Scarface. Earlier in the week, McGregor was spotted on the party island alongside TV star Katie Price. Sporting a hat and shades, McGregor posed for a snap with Price and her mate Ryan Mira at O-Beach Club. McGregor and Price are not the first influx of celebrities that Lineker has welcomed to his day club over the years, with a number of A-listers making time to visit the wonderful white beds of Ocean Beach. Soccer brothers Jude and Jobe Bellingham were spotted relaxing with Lineker last month, as was former welterweight UFC champion Leon Edwards. Meanwhile, the likes of Jack Grealish, James Maddison, Ivan Toney and Declan Rice have all been spotted living it up at the open-air club in the past.
