Peacemaker: James Gunn Teases John Cena vs. Batman in DCU
James Gunn wants to see John Cena's fight Batman in the DCU.
Gunn and Peter Safran's DCU officially kicked off last December with the animated Creature Commandos series. Gunn's Superman movie is now being released in United States theaters next month before Peacemaker Season 2, which is part of the new shared DC universe, arrives in August 2025.
At CCXPMX 25 this past weekend, per ComicBookMovie, Cena and Gunn were both asked who they'd like to see Cena's Christopher Smith character fight at some point in the DCU.
While Cena didn't have an answer, Gunn said that he wants Peacemaker to fight Batman at some point.
At this time, it's not clear who will be playing the Dark Knight in the DCU, as no official casting announcement has been made. A Batman movie titled The Brave and the Bold is currently in the works and is being directed by The Flash's Andy Muschietti, though there haven't been a lot of substantial announcements since that project in some time.
Peacemaker Season 2, meanwhile, premieres on HBO Max on August 21, 2025. The season will have eight episodes in total.
'The new season follows Christopher 'Chris' Smith, aka Peacemaker, the vigilante Super Hero as he struggles to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost,' the official logline reads.
Along with Cena, the cast of Peacemaker Season 2 includes Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sol Rodríguez as Sasha Bordeaux, Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury, Michael Rooker as Red St. Wild, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Filion as Guy Gardner, and Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord.

007: Next James Bond Rumored to be DCU Star
A new rumor surrounding the James Bond franchise suggests that a forthcoming DCU star is one of several actors being eyed for the highly coveted role of James Bond. According to noted insider Daniel Richtman (also known as DanielRPK), Aaron Pierre is one of several names being considered for the role of the legendary spy. Wilson would be stepping back from their long-time status as producers on the franchise, allowing Amazon MGM Studios to take creative control of the franchise. The agreement sees Amazon MGM Studios and the duo forming a new joint venture house to house the intellectual property rights for the Bond franchise. The three parties will remain co-owners of the Bond series, but now Amazon MGM Studios will have creative control, something that Broccoli and Wilson had retained before. Prior to the announcement, both Wilson and Broccoli had been known as fiercely protective over the franchise, but in a statement on the move, Wilson noted that he was stepping back to focus more on art and charitable projects, while Broccoli said she would be focusing on other projects now. Information about the future of the James Bond franchise, as well as what the next film will be about, remains mysterious for now.

All About David Corenswet's Wife, Julia Warner
Superman actor David Corenswet plays a man leading an epic double-life. The star has some experience there, because he keeps his off-screen world extremely private. Corenswet is married to his wife, Julia Best Warner, with whom he shares one child. But his Instagram is almost entirely promotion for the upcoming DC flick and he has shared very little info about his family. And she and Corenswet share a Cavalier King Charles spaniel named Ira: 'He's less of a doggy, more of a toddler,' Corenswet told People, adding that the seven-year-old dog 'has a wonderful mohawk, a natural tuft of hair right between his eyes, which is the reason he's disqualified from being shown [making him] adoptable.'
