007: Next James Bond Rumored to be DCU Star
A new rumor surrounding the James Bond franchise suggests that a forthcoming DCU star is one of several actors being eyed for the highly coveted role of James Bond.
According to noted insider Daniel Richtman (also known as DanielRPK), Aaron Pierre is one of several names being considered for the role of the legendary spy. Pierre broke out into superstardom following his role in 2021's Old, and Netflix's Rebel Ridge, as well as 2024's Mufasa: The Lion King.
Pierre will also next appear in the next season of Apple TV+'s The Morning Show, and will play John Stewart in the DCU for the series' Lanterns series.
Richtman didn't mention any other names that are being considered for Bond.
The James Bond franchise is now in the hands of Amazon MGM Studios following the shocking announcement earlier this year that longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson would be stepping back from their long-time status as producers on the franchise, allowing Amazon MGM Studios to take creative control of the franchise. The agreement sees Amazon MGM Studios and the duo forming a new joint venture house to house the intellectual property rights for the Bond franchise.
The three parties will remain co-owners of the Bond series, but now Amazon MGM Studios will have creative control, something that Broccoli and Wilson had retained before. Prior to the announcement, both Wilson and Broccoli had been known as fiercely protective over the franchise, but in a statement on the move, Wilson noted that he was stepping back to focus more on art and charitable projects, while Broccoli said she would be focusing on other projects now.
Information about the future of the James Bond franchise, as well as what the next film will be about, remains mysterious for now.

Kelsey Parker has announced the loss of her third child, a baby boy she was expecting with partner Will Lindsay. The podcast host and widow of The Wanted's Tom Parker shared in an Instagram post on Sunday that her first child with Lindsay was "born sleeping". Director Danny Boyle famously shot his post-apocalyptic classic '28 Days Later' on Canon digital cameras, making it easier for him to capture eerie scenes of an abandoned London, and giving the movie's fast-moving zombies a terrifying immediacy. To make his decades-later sequel '28 Years Later' (which opened this weekend), Boyle turned to a different piece of consumer tech — the iPhone. Boyle told Wired that by using a rig that could hold 20 iPhone Pro Max cameras, the filmmaking team created 'basically a poor man's bullet time,' capturing the brutal action scenes from a variety of angles. Even when he wasn't using the rig, Boyle (who once directed a biopic of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs) said the iPhone was the movie's 'principal camera,' albeit after disabling settings like automatic focus and adding special accessories. 'Filming with iPhones allowed us to move without huge amounts of equipment,' Boyle said, adding that the team was 'able to move quickly and lightly to areas of the countryside that we wanted to retain their lack of human imprint.'
