Will Rhian Ramos enter politics? Actress answers

GMA Network14-06-2025

Does Rhian Ramos have plans to enter politics?
Rhian guested on Friday's 'Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,' and opened up about her perspective on politics after witnessing the recent mayoral bid of her boyfriend, Sam Verzosa, who lost in Manila.
'I have to say I was a bit brokenhearted for him kasi 'pag mahal mo 'yung isang tao, you don't want them to be in pain, 'di ba? Ayaw mo silang makita na malungkot or—I was scared na siya 'yung ma-bo-brokenhearted,' she said.
Rhian also recounted that Sam cried, which she found understandable given the significant effort and investment he put into the campaign every day.
'He has every right naman kung iiyak siya for himself kasi malaki 'yung tinaya niya, 'di ba? At tsaka every day niyang pinaghirapan 'yon. Pero 'yung iniyak niya sa 'kin, 'yung mga ni-let down niya daw na tao,' she said.
When asked if she would consider a career in politics herself after processing Sam's experience, Rhian said, 'Dati sinabi ko ayoko. Nagbago na isip ko. Ayaw na ayaw ko na pala.'
'Ayaw ko talaga. Ang lungkot kasi. I mean, I don't know, siguro just based on what I've seen and what I've experienced, parang I feel like politics is a system that might even work against you pa nga eh. So ayon, depende,' she said.
Manila elected Isko Moreno as mayor in the recent election.
Meanwhile, Rhian is set to star in 'Sang'gre' as Mitena.
She is the twin sister of Cassiopeia, a character played by Solenn Heussaff in the series that aired in 2016. Cassiopeia is the first queen of Lireo.
"Sang'gre" is a spinoff of the iconic Kapuso fantaserye "Encantadia."
It will introduce the newest keepers of the brilyantes: Flamarra (Faith Da Silva), Deia (Angel Guardian), Adamus (Kelvin Miranda), and Terra (Bianca Umali).
Aside from Rhian, "Sang'gre" will feature a new set of characters which include Ysabel Ortega as Armea, the late Ricky Davao as Governor Emil, and Sienna Stevens who will take on the role of younger Mitena.
"Sang'gre" will premiere on GMA Prime on June 16.

Marcos: OFWs deserve 'full support'

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Saturday that overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) should receive "full support" from the government as he provided updates on initiatives aimed at improving their welfare. In his speech to the Filipino community in Osaka, Japan, Marcos stated that the government is making sure that opportunities are available to OFWs who choose to retire in the Philippines. (We also want your arrival and departure from our country to be smooth. That is why we have provided an OFW Lounge at the airport so that you can have a place to rest. We are also actively engaging with various countries that receive our workers to craft bilateral labor agreements so that we can ensure that work is safe and humane and that our compatriots are given the opportunity to succeed.) Marcos also recognized the sacrifices of OFWs to provide for their families in the Philippines. ''And that is why we will never tire of honoring you and finding ways to improve your lives. You are at the heart of our government's efforts, and you deserve not only our gratitude but also our full support,'' he said. Filipinos in Japan can also play a role in building "even stronger connections in shared values for a mutually stable, secure, and prosperous relationship between our two countries," the President said. 'This is why I hope you will join me and the Philippine nation in helping our community here in Japan to grow even more in love with the Philippines, to learn and embrace fully your Filipino identity, and to support our nation's aspirations for unity, for peace, and for prosperity,' he said. Marcos is in Japan for a working visit, which includes meetings with local businessmen and a visit to the Philippine Pavilion at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka. He is expected to return to the Philippines on Sunday. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News

Ralph De Leon addresses ex-housemates' 'paasa' allegations regarding AZ Martinez

Ralph De Leon caught heat from the duo challengers over his closeness to AZ Martinez on Saturday's episode of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" The former housemates questioned his choosing of Will Ashley as his final duo when he nominated him before. Asked if he did not feel bad for AZ, who had also wanted to be his final duo, Ralph said that he developed a closeness with Will, and he did not "push the loveteam, hindi ko pinilit." Emilio Daez said, "Teka lang ha, lapit ka ng lapit sa kanya (AZ)." Kira Balinger jumped in, telling Ralph, "Stop using her, honestly, Ralph, ang kapal ng mukha mo." "Why do you keep going near her?" she added. "If you really have no intention of having anything to do with her, why do you keep going near her?" Other housemates chimed in and said he was "paasa." Ralph took the question in stride and said that he was "there for AZ." "I don't think you can blame me for genuinely caring for another person in this house," he said. "And that's the sole reason why I keep making it clear every single time that I do not want any feelings miscommunicated," he added. Dustin Yu and Bianca De Vera defend relationship from duo challengers: 'Totoo to'

Dustin Yu and Bianca De Vera defended their tandem from the 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition' duo challengers on Saturday's episode. During their Big Tapatan time, Dustin said that his bond with Bianca was unexpected. However, the duo challengers countered this. Kira Balinger said that Dustin used to always mention her name, whereas AC Bonifacio said that he asked every girl in the house if they were single. Dustin answered that Kira is 'girlfriend material' physically. Kira then asked, 'So if 'di ko naging ka-duo si Josh [Ford], what would you do?' 'To be honest Kira, hindi kita nakikitang magiging duo ko nung mga araw na 'yun. Honestly, 'till lumabas ka, hindi naman talaga tayo naging close so 'di kita pipiliin,' Dustin replied. Dustin then told the duo challengers, 'Sa lahat ng dito, wala 'kong idea diyan sa loveteam loveteam na 'yan.' Kira asked, 'So, ano 'to?' Dustin quickly answered, 'Totoo. Totoo 'to, Kira. Alam mo 'yan.' Kira asked why Dustin chose Bianca to be his final duo if it wasn't for the loveteam. 'Kasi gusto ko siya,' Dustin said. 'Hindi namin kailangan i-explain kung ano 'yung meron sa 'min.' Kira said that should their relationship be true, she asked the duo why they were so toxic, "Ang daming selos selos na nangyayari, hindi pa naman kayo. Don't you get how that's affecting the other housemates? Ramdam nila 'yan. Selos selos, 'di naman kayo,' Kira said. Bianca then admitted that she was 'scared na nagiging toxic na' especially since they aren't in a relationship yet, and acknowledged the jealousy they felt. 'Merong times na sobrang babaw ng mga pinagaawayan namin and yes, may mga tasks na nadala kayong lahat and for that, we're really, really sorry, Ate Klang, we're really, really sorry,' Bianca said. 'But just like with any type of friendship or relationship, we believe that from those obstacles, we've grown. We've grown a lot,' the actress added. 'With the toxic part, I feel like I did, I thought we were. Pero, feeling ko hindi naman pala. I think it was just a vital part of what we had to go through inside our journey in this house.'
