Kylie Padilla turns emotional as she shares current outlook on love
Kylie Padilla became emotional as she shared a deeply personal and emotional insight into her current perspective on love, revealing a new approach centered on divine inspiration. In 'Fast Talk with Boy Abunda' Friday, the Sparkle star candidly expressed her journey and her desire not to be defined by past traumas. 'I'm trying something new kasi marami akong—ako, 'di ko na-survive 'yung gano'ng nangyari sa 'kin. Alam niyo naman lahat 'yon. So I'm trying something new where I'm trying to understand how God would love,' she said. Kylie's current outlook is influenced by a divine approach, where she seeks to comprehend and emulate God's love. 'If God can love me and forgive me and come from a place na hindi nauubos, baka kaya ko rin. Lagi akong nagdadasal na teach me how I can love the way you do kasi I don't wanna be shaped by the bad things that traumatized me or that hurt me,' she said. The actress's motivation extends to her children, as she wishes for them to witness resilience and love despite adversity. 'I want my kids to see that no matter what happened to you, you still should come from a place of love. So 'yun 'yung outlook ko with love right now. Kasi for a time din naging bitter din ako, 'di ba? So the only way I feel I can be healed is higher being na,' she said. Kylie has two sons, Alas and Axl, with Aljur Abrenica. Kylie and Aljur parted ways in 2021. Aljur later admitted that he cheated on Kylie. Following the separation, Kylie and the boys moved into their new home. In September 2023, Kylie shared that she does not hold them back from seeing their dad and that she does not want to put him in a negative light. During Kylie's guesting in "Fast Talk" on Friday with "My Father's Wife" co-star Kazel Kinouchi, the two actresses admitted that they are both taken, but did not share details about their partners. Kylie and Kazel will star in "My Father's Wife" with Gabby Concepcion, Jak Roberto, and more. It will premiere on GMA Afternoon Prime on June 23. —Carby Rose Basina/CDC, GMA Integrated News

Is Alzheimer's disease a type of prion disease?
Researchers do not consider Alzheimer's disease a type of prion disease. However, Alzheimer's shares some features with prion diseases. The table below outlines some key similarities and differences at a glance: Prion diseases are rare, transmissible neurodegenerative disorders, which means they involve the progressive death of cells in the central nervous system, including the brain. The most common prion disease in humans is sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (sCJD). Prion diseases have the following three features: They occur due to the buildup of misfolded proteins called prions. They are transmissible. They cause fatal neurodegenerative changes. Alzheimer's disease does not qualify as a prion disease because it does not meet the transmissible criteria. Various factors can contribute to a person's risk of Alzheimer's disease, including: Since prion diseases and Alzheimer's disease both involve progressive neurodegeneration, they may share symptoms, including: memory loss changes in movement changes in mood forgetting to eat or sleep Prion diseases can be asymptomatic for years . However, when symptoms occur, progression is typically quick. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests it can be months or years until a prion disease causes death after symptoms appear. In contrast, Alzheimer's disease progression can vary significantly from person to person. In many cases, symptoms progress slowly over several years. People may initially mistake mild symptoms for natural changes due to aging. There is no cure for prion diseases or Alzheimer's disease. However, healthcare professionals may be able to treat the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease with medications such as: Unlike Alzheimer's disease, there are no treatments for the symptoms of prion disease. People should speak with a healthcare professional if they are concerned about Alzheimer's disease or if they have a diagnosis and experience changes in symptoms.

Kennedy's new US vaccine panel to discuss measles shot for children
A new panel of US vaccine advisers appointed by health secretary Robert F Kennedy Jnr will vote on flu shots that contain a mercury-based preservative called thimerosal and discuss recommendations for use of a combination measles shot for children at an upcoming meeting. The advisers to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will also vote on who should receive the shots for respiratory syncytial virus and influenza at the meeting scheduled for June 25 and 26, according to a draft agenda posted on the CDC's website. The agenda comes days after Kennedy named eight members to serve on the Advisory Committee on Immunisation Practices (Acip), including several who have advocated against vaccines, after abruptly firing all 17 members of the independent committee of experts. 'There isn't any doubt that we're in new territory and things are being done differently than they were before,' said William Schaffner, professor of infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and an alternate liaison to Acip. Schaffner said it would be a shorter meeting than planned, a more limited number of CDC personnel are scheduled to present at the meeting and a number of presenters have not yet been listed. The new panel will discuss proposed recommendations on the use of the combination measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV) vaccine for children under five years of age.
