Ana de Armas recalls screaming and running for her life on set of new movie
Cuban-Spanish actress Ana de Armas has two major blockbusters coming out this summer - but she was scared for her life on the set of one of them that filmed in Australia
Ana de Armas has revealed she was left screaming and running for her life on the set of her latest film. The 37-year-old Cuban-Spanish actress has the lead role in new action film Ballerina - itself a spin-off of the Keanu Reeves fronted John Wick film series.
The new movie sees Ana playing a character named Eve Macarro, who was training as a ballerina before falling into a world of espionage and peril. While promoting the new film, Ana also shared anecdotes from the set of another action film she stars in.
She is among the cast of Ron Howard's survival thriller Eden - which was initially released in 2024 but is set to be released in the UK in July.
The action flick, which also stars Jude Law, Vanessa Kirby and Sydney Sweeney, was filmed in Australia - but the set was frequently invaded by scaly visitors. Ana has explained that a snake catcher was on hand at all times to remove such unwanted pests.
Speaking to Stellar Magazine, Ana revealed that the cast and crew would run screaming at the warning of reptiles. She recalled: "I remember at random times on set, people just screaming, 'Snake!'
"Stopping the take right away – whatever was happening, whoever was talking – we literally dropped everything and ran away, waiting for the guy to come with the stick and take the snake out."
She added: "But I think we were fine... no accidents happened."
While Ana has a busy summer ahead of film releases ahead of her, she has been attracting even more interest from fans in recent months as rumours swirl that she is dating Tom Cruise. The pair have been spotted out for dinner together and Tom has even flown the actress around in helicopters.
Ana is no stranger to dating high profile men - having been married to Spanish model Marc Clotet from 2011 until 2013, dated Ben Affleck from early 2020 until late 2021, and more recently she was linked to the stepson of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel. But she has reportedly been warned about getting close to 62-year-old Tom.
After they were spied seemingly enjoying a Valentine's meal together earlier this year, a source insisted to People that the pair were merely "discussing potential collaborations down the line." They added that the pair "appeared to have no romantic connection, just friends."
Fans have been left unconvinced, however, and many have taken to social media to comment about the apparent bond between the Hollywood stars - while also expressing concerns about Tom's dramatic, headline-grabbing past.
He has not had the best luck on the romantic front - having been married three times, with each marriage resulting in divorce. He has also been linked to the controversial religion Scientology.
He reportedly joined the Church of Scientology in 1986 after allegedly being introduced by his first wife, Mimi Rogers. The organisation has been slammed as a cult by many and it was invented by science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard in 1954.
The secretive society reportedly sees members unlock different levels within the organisation by paying certain amounts of money to rise up through the ranks - while also allegedly handing over personal details. Many who have escaped the organisation have claimed they have been followed and intimidated by other members.
It has been suggested that Tom's dedication to the organisation sparked the collapse of his marriage to his second wife, Nicole Kidman - however the Aussie star cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for her request for divorce when they split in 2001.

Love Island fans call out Ben over bizarre claim as he's DUMPED by Shakira
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island fans poked fun at Ben after an intense conversation he had with Sabrina in the Spanish villa during Friday's episode. The model from Gloucester was paired with Mancunian beauty, but their relationship was rocky from the outset as Sabrina constantly questioned their chemistry. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 3 Ben and Sabrina are no longer an item on Love Island Credit: Eroteme 3 Fans mocked Ben for saying he agreed with Sabrina's decision Credit: Eroteme Earlier this week, she was accused of leading Ben on in the ITV reality series, but during the latest installment, dumped him outright. Sabrina gave a range of reasons for her decision, including telling Ben that he "dulled my sparkle." "We don't speak of anything of note," she told him as the pair argued. Fans watching at home noticed that Ben looked devastated during the chat, but then thought it was bizarre that he outwardly agreed with Sabrina's reasoning. "Nah Ben looked like he was abt to cry when Shakira said he dulled her sparkle," one Love Island fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter. Another added with a meme of a someone wearing multiple masks: "Ben telling Shakira he's on the same page as her." And a third wrote alongside a skull emoji: "Ben pretending he felt the same way as Shakira." A fourth person commented: "Talk about different pages… not sure Shakira and Ben are even in the same book." Even though she's now flying solo in the Love Island casa, Shakira may be rekindling her fling with Harry after the pair had a conversation about their future. "I wanted to see how you were feeling, I think initially you were number one and I f****d it," Harry told her. Love Island game of 'spin the bottle' kicks off as Shakira snogs Harry - and Megan's left furious over Tommy's kiss with co-star They also discussed his romantic indecision as he is paired up with Helena, but also seems interested in Yasmin as well. Sabrina told Harry: "It was you, and still is you. But it's your behaviour for me that I can't tolerate." And Harry pressed her for the potential for a second chance: "If that could possibly be arranged?" He also told Sabrina: "You're the one," despite his moves on Yasmin and Helena. But the pair seem like they're definitely going to get close again as a teaser clip for Sunday's episode shows them snogging. The preview showed the Islanders playing a messy game of 'spin the bottle' on Sunday. In the teaser clip's edit, it seemed as though the Islanders were asked to snog who they'd most like to be coupled up with. It then cut to Shakira smooching Harry as Helena and Ben looked at their current love interests with disgust.

Conor McGregor links up with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers in Ibiza days after 'punch' incident
McGregor has been pictured linking up with Celtic manager Rodgers in Ibiza, just days after the former UFC champion was allegedly involved in a nightclub altercation Conor McGregor has been spotted rubbing shoulders with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers in Ibiza. The UFC star - who previously claimed he has held discussions to become a Celtic shareholder - took to social media on Friday evening to post a photo of himself alongside the Hoops boss, who was cradling a baby in the image. "LEGENDARY DOUBLE CHAMP LINK UP! NEXT YEAR, TREBLE! GOD IS GREAT! @CelticFC @ufc Congrats to the Rodgers family on the new addition to their family," McGregor captioned the picture on his social media platforms. This encounter between Rodgers and McGregor occurred shortly after the latter was reportedly involved in a scuffle at an Ibiza nightclub. The Sun published footage early Tuesday from Pacha nightclub, which purportedly shows McGregor leaning down to speak to an unidentified man on the dance floor. Seconds later, the 36 year old seems to launch two punches. Following the incident, the man was seen hitting the ground, prompting witnesses to share their accounts of what transpired. One eyewitness told The Sun that it seemed there were no repercussions for the ex-dual-weight UFC titleholder. "The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away," they reported to The Sun. "There [didn't appear to be any] consequences for Conor." Another recounted: "About five people fell to the floor as the guy stumbled back. It was a bit like bowling pins, but the guy was really shaken." They continued: "About a minute later, the bouncers came and got him on the back and took him out of the club. "It was right before close anyway," they added. "There was no messing around; they just removed him. Conor left through the garden a bit later; he didn't look very happy." Since then, McGregor has shared that he was in Ibiza after treating his football teammates to a trip to the Spanish resort. The UFC star has been playing in an over 35's league with his local pub team and celebrated their recent league victory. "To celebrate winning the league I took the @blackforgeinn football squad away on holiday to Ibiza! All expenses paid, VIP's," McGregor posted on social media along with a selection of snaps and clips from their getaway. He elaborated: "LEAGUE CHAMPIONS, BABY! Reach out, link up, join a team! Get active! For the sake of your mental health you will thank yourself! #ibizapartyisland." Three years ago, McGregor stated talks took place with Dermot Desmond about his shares to provide financial backing for the Parkhead side.
