Jagan accuses Naidu of governance failure, launches ‘Manifesto Recall' campaign
Vijayawada: Alleging that chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is resorting to diversionary tactics to mask his governance failures, former chief minister YS
Jagan Mohan Reddy
said that rising anti-incumbency sentiments — evident from the massive turnout during his recent tours — reflect growing public dissatisfaction within just a year of the NDA assuming office.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Jagan accused Naidu of displaying authoritarian tendencies by suppressing dissent and allegedly misusing the police to target YSRCP leaders. "Their modus operandi is simple — catch the small fry, use coercion for confessions, and slap cases on our key leaders, hoping the public won't notice the manipulation," he said.
To hold the ruling party accountable, Jagan announced the launch of "Recalling of Naidu's Manifesto," an initiative that will encourage people to question
TDP
leaders about unfulfilled promises.
The campaign will include QR codes enabling citizens to access the manifesto. "Before the elections, the TDP circulated a 'Babu Surety, Future Guarantee' bond to every household. Now it's time to ask tough questions," he added.
He said that the huge success of betrayal day organised by YSRCP shows that anti-incumbency has set in very fast as none of the super six promises were implemented. He said that his visit to Sattenapalli on Wednesday in a curfew like situation shows the measure of repressive methods being adopted by Naidu government.

He said that the government tried to scuttle his Podili visit by imposing huge restrictions.
Jagan said that Naidu deceived women and all sections of people by not implementing his poll promises more so the Sthri Nidhi, Talliki Vandanam, free bus travel, Deepam scheme and other schemes even one year after assuming office. Atrocities on women and young girls are growing and no complaint is being received nor investigation taken up.
He said that Naidu reacted on Kuppam incident only after he was trolled in social media.
Jagan said that the farmers were in distress and not getting minimum support prices (MSP) to any crop. He said that the debt percentage in the state's GSDP was 4.08% during his regime while it shot up to 5.12% in just one year under Naidu's rule. The ex-CM further said revenue deficit has reached staggering 3.61% which was was 2.65% during YSRC regime. "We took a total debt of ₹3,32,671 crore during five years, but Naidu led NDA secured ₹1,61,301 crore in loans — 48.5% of our 5-year debt in just one year," said Jagan.
Responding to YS Sharmila's accusations about telephone tapping in Telangana, Jagan said he was unaware of any such developments.

"Rain Of Lies": Lalu Yadav Posts AI Video Of PM Modi, Nitish Kumar Dancing
New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav today released a 'Bihar AI' parody video taking swipes at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a visit to the state where the assembly election is scheduled to be held later this year. The video has a mix of lookalikes created using artificial intelligence software and genuine footage from PM Modi's public events. A song that accompanied the video repeatedly mentioned the words "jumlo ki baarish" - a familiar line that the Opposition has been using while criticising PM Modi and his party, BJP. "Weather warning in the interest of Bihar - today, there will be heavy rain of lies, false promises and illusions in Bihar, hailstones of false and tempting promises along with thunder, be careful," Lalu Yadav wrote in Hindi in the post on X. The video also features AI lookalikes of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and PM Modi dancing together in rain and in front of a bridge that had crumbled. Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United), or JD(U), is a member of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The JD(U) was also briefly with the opposition's Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) before he returned to the NDA family. Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD MLA and Lalu Yadav's son, was portrayed in the video as a leader who helped the common people. In one scene, an AI rendition of Tejashwi Yadav was shown helping an old woman pick up a heavy cane basket full of fruit. #Bihar #TejashwiYadav #RJD — Lalu Prasad Yadav (@laluprasadrjd) June 20, 2025 The RJD's parody video comes amid PM Modi's fresh attack alluding to Lalu Yadav over the RJD chief's alleged insult to BR Ambedkar during his birthday celebrations recently. At a rally in Bihar's Siwan today, PM Modi referred to the instance of a portrait of BR Ambedkar being placed close to the feet of Lalu Yadav, for which the RJD leader has been drawing criticism from the NDA. "Ambedkar was against dynasty rule. But they (RJD and its allies) do not like it. So they have his portrait placed at their feet. On my way, I saw posters demanding an apology for this insult to Babasaheb," PM Modi said at the Siwan rally. "But there has been no apology. This is because they hold Dalits in contempt. In contrast, Modi has Babasaheb in his heart and would like to keep his portrait close to his chest," the Prime Minister said. The RJD said the controversy began due to the "camera angle" at Lalu Yadav's house while his 78th birthday celebration was going on earlier this month. The party said Lalu Yadav's feet were on a sofa because of "medical advice", and a party supporter stood close carrying the portrait of BR Ambedkar.

PM accuses RJD of insulting Ambedkar, praises Nitish
1 2 Patna: Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Friday launched a scathing attack on the RJD, accusing it of insulting Dr B R Ambedkar and contributing to Bihar's backwardness. He contrasted this with his praise for CM Nitish Kumar, crediting him with pulling the state out of the "jungle raj and loot" that he said prevailed before 2005 under the rule of Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi. "Nitish has brought Bihar back on track from the jungle raj and prepared the launchpad for the state's development," Modi said while addressing his fourth public rally in Bihar this year. The event followed the remote inauguration and foundation-laying of projects worth Rs 9,518 crore at Jasoli in Siwan district. The projects included the launch of a Vande Bharat Express train between Patliputra Junction in Patna and Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, the first consignment of diesel locomotives from the Marhaura rail factory in Saran and several schemes under the rail, energy and urban development departments. Referring to a recent controversy, Modi cited an incident where a portrait of Dr Ambedkar was placed near Lalu's feet by one of his supporters during the RJD chief's birthday celebration on June 11. "I know they will never apologise for disrespecting Ambedkar. By insulting Baba Saheb, these people want to show themselves as bigger than him. The people of Bihar will never forget this insult. They have no respect for Dalits and extremely backward people," he said. "RJD keeps Baba Saheb at its feet, but Modi keeps him in his heart," he added. Modi accused the RJD and Congress of turning a once-prosperous Bihar into a symbol of migration. "They are now trying to grab power again by resorting to different tricks. But I have faith in the youth. They will keep them away from power. Together you have eradicated jungle raj in Bihar," he said. Modi also targeted the previous govts for their slogan-driven politics. "The youth have only heard stories about the plight of Bihar but have no idea what the jungle raj people had done to the state," he said. Highlighting his participation in the recent G7 summit, the PM said world leaders now recognise India as the third-largest economic superpower. "Bihar is definitely going to play a very big role in the country's prosperity," he said. At the event, Modi handed over house keys to 6,684 beneficiaries in Bihar and took a swipe at past govts. "While Congress and RJD kept shouting the 'Garibi Hatao' slogan for decades, the NDA govt has shown how poverty can actually be reduced. More than 25 crore people have come out of poverty in India, including 3.75 crore in Bihar, in the last decade," he said. "Our slogan is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, but those with lanterns and the hand (RJD-Congress) believe only in parivar ka saath, parivar ka vikas," Modi said.
