TTD officials dismiss Bhumana's accusations

1 2 Tirupati: Dismissing the accusations levelled by its former chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams reiterated that several reforms were introduced by the temple body in the last one year to uphold the sanctity and spiritual ambience of the hill town. Bhumana alleged that TTD was planning to end Veda Parayanam at the temple, which he said would be a sacrilege of the highest order. "A senior temple official recently called Veda Parayanam a waste of time. It is unfortunate that those who are supposed to uphold the sanctity of the temple are degenerating the significance of the Vedas," the former TTD chairman alleged. He further claimed that Tirumala temple priests were being subjected to hardships and humiliation and are being forced to undergo physical frisking, a practice which never existed in the past, adding that it's the duty of TTD to uphold the dignity of priests. Ridiculing TTD's proposed plans to take the help of artificial intelligence (AI) to reduce the waiting time for devotees, he said the temple body is now artificially keeping the outside queue lines empty by preventing devotees from even entering the queue lines. "The temple trust was formed to facilitate darshan for visiting devotees, not to prevent or turn them away," the veteran YSRCP leader alleged. Responding to the accusations, TTD said Bhumana's accusations about plans to stop Veda Parayanam are "completely baseless". .

Case against ex-Nellore MP's relative for encroaching mutt land

Tirupati: Nellore rural police registered a case against Narendra Reddy, a close relative of former YSRCP MP Adala Prabhakar Reddy, on charges of illegally occupying lands belonging to Ahobila mutt in Nellore rural assembly constituency. The land parcel, measuring 1.8 acres in survey number 195 of Kanuparthipadu village abutting the Chennai-Kolkata national highway, was illegally occupied by the encroachers. The approximate market value of the land is Rs 15 crore. While mutt authorities have been fighting legally to reclaim the land, the protracted fight by the mutt's Nellore unit secretary KC Varadarajan reached a flashpoint on Friday when he released a video through social media, accusing the former MP of trying to usurp the land after promising to render justice for over 12 years. "Mr Prabhakar Reddy purchased the land from dubious sellers who fraudulently claimed it to be their ancestral property. However, after coming to know of the fact, he agreed to 'do justice' to the mutt, but dragged his feet for 12 years," Varadarajan said, adding that the culprits also tampered with revenue records by using forged documents. When the mutt's representatives visited the site to erect a board in the presence of revenue officials on Thursday, the former MP's followers reportedly manhandled them and pushed the board down. Some official documents in the possession of VRO DV Ramanaiah were also allegedly snatched away, after which he lodged a complaint at Nellore rural police station. Nellore rural legislator Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy has assured to render justice to Ahobila mutt besides initiating action against those behind the encroachment.

'Rappa Rappa': Chandrababu Naidu Vs Jagan Reddy Over YSRCP Worker's 'Pushpa 2' Dialogue

Last Updated: The YSRCP worker, who was previously affiliated with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), compared opposition leaders to goats being lined up for sacrifice A fresh political storm erupted in Andhra Pradesh on Friday after a YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) supporter invoked the dialogue 'Rappa Rappa" from the Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2, during a recent public meeting, comparing political adversaries to sacrificial animals. The YSRCP worker, who was previously affiliated with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), compared opposition leaders to goats being lined up for sacrifice, citing the Gangamma Jatara tradition. He used the line 'Rapa Rapa Narukutham" (we'll chop heads one by one) during Reddy's public rally to symbolise their supposed fate, drawing outrage from the ruling TDP. Defending the remarks, Jagan Mohan Reddy said, 'Even though he was a TDP member, he joined the YSRCP, displaying a sense of regional anger against the government for its failure on promises. He made statements like 'Rappa rappa, like Gangamma Jatara…' meaning what?" He added: 'He meant to say that people are that angry with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, that he has failed them and betrayed them. The anger is such that even a Telugu Desam Party karyakarta jumped to our party and said, 'Just like in Gangamma Jatara, where an animal is sacrificed by beheading, they will behave towards TDP — rappa rappa." 'Is it wrong to use a movie dialogue in a democracy?" Reddy questioned. He further accused the Chief Minister of misrule and claimed the comments were a reflection of people's frustration with the TDP's tenure. 'If there is a dialogue in movies that is a joke, can it be put on a flex banner? Do you think that people are killed in movies and it is okay to kill them outside?" he asked, warning that such language fuels a culture of violence. He continued, 'If a person thinks, 'I will do anything, I will kill my Babai,' who are you to say? What is the trend? What is the message you're trying to send to the public?" — calling Jagan's endorsement of such language deeply irresponsible. 'We have been seeing certain individuals in the state lately behaving like maniacs, making statements such as, 'We will cut off, we will kill, we will behead people.' This is the mindset of criminals," Naidu further said. TDP leader and IT Minister Nara Lokesh also took to social media to condemn the rhetoric. 'Will you slaughter them like sheep, @ysjagan? … Your attitude is very dangerous for democracy," he posted on X (formerly Twitter). Remove Ads Nara Lokesh calls Jagan's stance 'dangerous' A fresh political clash has erupted in Andhra Pradesh between Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy , this time over a film-inspired dialogue used by a YSR Congress Party supporter at a public meeting. The supporter, a former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) member who recently joined YSRCP, compared political opponents to sacrificial animals, echoing a scene from the upcoming film Pushpa 2 and referencing the Gangamma Jatara ritual known for animal beheadings. Instead of distancing himself from the violent remark, Jagan repeated and defended it, prompting sharp criticism from Naidu and senior TDP leaders. The exchange has reignited tensions between the two rivals and raised questions about the use of violent imagery in political rhetoric.A former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) worker, now with the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), told the crowd that opponents should be treated 'like in Gangamma Jatara,' a village ritual that involves animal beheading. He used the phrase 'Rappa rappa,' a local idiom meaning 'one by one.' Jagan cited the remark on stage, saying the defector's anger showed how badly the TDP 'failed' voters and asked, 'What is wrong?''Even though he was a TDP member, he joined the YSRCP, displaying a sense of regional anger against the government for its failure on promises. He made statements like 'Rappa rappa, like Gangamma Jatara...' meaning what?' Jagan asked the crowd during an address. 'He meant to say that people are that angry with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, that he has failed them and betrayed them… 'Just like in Gangamma Jatara, where an animal is sacrificed by beheading, they will behave towards TDP — rappa rappa. Good only he said! What is wrong?'' he chief and current Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said such language crosses a line. 'If there is a dialogue in movies that is a joke, can it be put on a flex banner? Do you think that people are killed in movies and it is okay to kill them outside? Do you think that because rape is shown in films, it is acceptable outside as well?' he asked.'If a person thinks, 'I will do anything, I will kill my Babai,' who are you to say? What is the trend? What is the message you're trying to send to the public?' Naidu said. He called recent statements about 'cut off… kill… behead' proof of a 'mindset of criminals.'Andhra IT Minister Nara Lokesh challenged Jagan on social media: 'Will you slaughter them like sheep, @ysjagan? What does it mean that you are defending the language of your admirer? Your attitude is very dangerous for democracy.' He used the hashtags #BloodOnYourHandsJagan and # Minister Payyavula Keshav said, 'When you say, 'People will be killed, rappa rappa,' whom exactly are you planning to kill? If a youth repeats such a line, as a former Chief Minister, Jagan should have condemned it. Instead, he responds with amusement, thereby encouraging such behaviour — which could result in more people fighting and even killing each other.'

Jagan instigated violence in Palnadu: MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy

NELLORE: Senior TDP leader and Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy on Thursday came down heavily on former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of instigating chaos, promoting betting culture, and misusing public emotions over the suicide of a YSRCP activist. Addressing the media at Duttalur, Somireddy blamed Jagan for encouraging betting culture in the State through slogans like 'Why Not 175?' 'It was this illusion that pushed YSRCP activist Nagamalleswara Rao into betting losses, and ultimately to suicide. When Nagamalleswara Rao died on June 9, 2024 Jagan was the caretaker Chief Minister? Why are they now blaming the TDP-led NDA government for the YSRCP activist's suicide?' Somireddy asked. He condemned the rally held by Jagan at Rentapalla in Palnadu district in the guise of a condolence visit. 'Jagan has held a provocative rally, which led to the death of two innocent persons. If anyone tries to break the law, they will be dealt with sternly,' he asserted.
