Coronation Street star teases 'big' scenes ahead amid dangerous drugs plot
Coronation Street's Summer Spellman actress Harriet Bibby has revealed all about the ITV soap's LSD storyline, while she teased to The Mirror 'big' scenes are on the way
One Coronation Street star has promised "big" scenes ahead on the ITV soap in the coming months.
Summer Spellman actress Harriet Bibby spoke exclusively to The Mirror about the upcoming storylines for her character. She also teased the 65th anniversary plans for later this year, and the big Emmerdale crossover airing in 2026.
After months of not being onscreen much, Harriet explained to us that she was having a quieter year following the huge and emotional 2024 storyline, that saw Summer's father figure Paul Foreman die after battling motor neurone disease. Summer featured heavily in this storyline, with lots of difficult scenes for actress Harriet.
Often in soaps when a character features in a massive storyline, they tend to then go quiet which is what has happened with Summer. But that's all about to change as next week, she takes centre stage once more.
This time, Summer and other characters are caught up in a drugs storyline, as three characters take LSD at a house party. What follows is a dramatic and devastating sequence of events.
Teasing more from Summer ahead, Harriet told us: "I've had a quieter year this year after the big storyline with Paul last year. It was brilliant, we loved doing it even though every day we were in tears.
"We will be seeing more of Summer in the coming months." Harriet also teased the big stuff on the way, saying: "I'm really excited about the crossover. It's never been done before. It will be fun and a little different.
"I am hoping to be a part of it but we have no idea. I'd love to meet the Dingles." When asked about the 65th, she said: "I'm the worst person to ask, everything you're asking me I'm asking the bosses! It will be something big though."
As for the huge drugs storyline that is coming up, Harriet teased what the fallout will be with it clear something has happened, and that Summer and pal Nina Lucas have been witnesses to something while high. Revealing "the night takes a turn", she teased: "Even with no drugs in their system they'd be feeling really shocked, upset and concerned about what's just happened.
"So times that by 10 with the LSD they've got in their system and they're distraught. They're really worried and really scared about what's just happened." Harriet went on: "They figure out that they've witnessed something.
"They have different opinions on what to do with this and it causes a little bit of friction between them. Nina thinks they should tell someone and report it whereas Summer is more convinced that they don't know what they've seen because they were affected by the LSD so there's no point in reporting anything as they don't know for sure that something happened.
"They're very confused by what they think they saw because they're unsure about what was reality and what was not." On the future impact of the huge plot, she shared: "I think when you find yourselves in quite dangerous situations, and it's not just Summer and Nina who are affected, you look back and think that was a really stupid idea. It affects a lot of different people in different ways and it could have been avoided if these drugs were not at the party."

A number of celebrities were in attendance at the final day of the Royal Ascot on Saturday - where King Charles and Queen Camilla cheered on the horse racing events Celebrities and Royals mingled together for the 2025 final of the Royal Ascot on Saturday. King Charles III and Queen Camilla were in attendance to oversee an afternoon of high adrenaline - and high stakes - horse racing. His Majesty The King showcased his infamous quintessential style wearing a summer suit - with a pop of colour coming via a pastel yellow waistcoat. The King added a top hat to his look and carried a smart umbrella as the forecast carried a risk of downpours. Meanwhile the Queen donned a light-weight pleated white dress with a matching white jacket. She completed her look with a white had and white heels - and too was ready for any eventuality on the weather front by carrying an umbrella of her own. The royal couple arrived via horse drawn carriage and looked in high spirits as they prepared to supervise an afternoon of equestrian sport. Also in attendance was Princess Eugenie, 35, who stood out in a red dress and hat for the day ahead. While a range of celebrities also turned up to watch all the sun-soaked action. Good Morning Britain star Charlotte Hawkins was among those in attendance at the event on Saturday. She sported a floaty, yellow summer dress with a matching coloured hat resting lightly on her head. The TV star has been giving commentary for ITV about the event - and admitted she might sound more knowledgeable when speaking on air than she really is. In a behind-the-scenes post on Instagram, Charlotte revealed how she frantically makes notes about the various VIPs and royals that will be attending the races. She revealed: "Every day, we get sent an email with the carriage list, and we find out who is going to be in each of the carriages. But sometimes, you know, there are some names that we need to explain. Who they are, what they do." Sharing a look at her cheat sheet, she went on: "I do have this sort of master sheet, which has a whole load of people... And it does become a bit like a craft project, because I get my little handy scissors, I'll snip out who it is, and then I will piece it together on these sheets here. So I'm letting you into all my secrets here." She added: "This is all my own research, but I am actually just double checking that I've remembered exactly who is because there nothing worse than getting your people mixed up and you're talking about something as important as the Royal procession." Also among the stars in attendance on Saturday was EastEnders icon Rudolph Walker - who has played Patrick Truman on the BBC soap since 2001. The 85-year-old looked dapper in a suit with a cream waistcoat and tie, and a jaunty top hat. Meanwhile, Escape to the Country star Nicki Chapman who looked chic in a delightful pink summer jacket and dress. She matched her outfit with a pink hat and carried a small silver clutch. Talking fans through her look on Instagram, the TV star said: "Welcome to Chappers catwalk, getting ready for Royal Ascot today. So let's start off with the hat by Laylaleigh. She made it specially for me... it matches the dress. "And then [hair stylist] Nina [Nikol] has done such a beautiful job on the hair, so you don't see any of the paraphernalia keeping it in place. So together, they really complement each other." She went on to explain that she got her dress from Self Portrait, her bag from LK Bennett, and her shoes from Zara. She then revealed she would be getting some advice later in the day from her mother. Nicki revealed: "Mummy, you're going to give us some good tips. Yes, she is. She's going to stay here and tell us what we should be betting on. But looking forward to today, absolutely." Punters stood to win impressive prizes by betting on the right horse - while those taking part in the sport could win as much as £1 million if they managed to ride their horse to the finish line fastest. Reviewing the events, Paddy Power notes: "Every renewal is worth at least £110,000, the minimum value of a Group 1 has been increased to £650,000, while the most lucrative contests of the week boast £1,000,000 funds." Shearing details of the day ahead, the betting company added: "Among the attractions are Treanmor and Moments Of Joy going head-to-head in the opening Chesham Stakes at 14:30, while the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at 15:40 looks a wide-open contest as Lazzat, Inisherin, Santono Reve, Storm Boy and Topgear all have claims." Despite the Royal Ascot being a fixture in the society diary, horse racing fans were shocked this week when celebrations descended into bloody violence. Two men came to blows at the grounds on Friday, leaving fans stunned. The Daily Mail reported on the violence, revealing: "A group of men attempt to separate the brawling pair. The group could briefly be heard telling the fighting men: 'Stop, stop, boys.' "While one man, dressed in a grey suit, was dragged away, the other was picked up from the ground with blood gushing from his face. "The bloodied racegoer wiped his visage and then bloodied his cream trousers as he seemingly yelled at the man he had fought only moments before." It is unclear what caused the unexpected burst of violence.

Billi Mucklow posts incredible revenge snaps in swipe at ex-husband Andy Carroll
After TOWIE star Billi Mucklow was left looking after ex-husband Andy Carroll's children while he 'gallivanted' with his new girlfriend Lou Teasdale, she has shared a series of unreal revenge snaps Billi Mucklow shared a series of stunning photos as she returned to her 'happy place', following rising tensions with her ex Andy Carroll. The TOWIE star, 37, looked unreal as she posed for snaps in Mallorca, where she is taking a well-deserved break as she attends a family wedding in the Balearics. Mum-of-three Billi beamed as she shared flawless photos of her in a black bikini holding a glass of white wine, another photo saw her wearing a tiny sky-blue two-piece. She was then photographed in a red, off-the-shoulder maxi dress, while another post was dedicated to the wedding she attended. Billi previously jetted out to Mallorca with her TOWIE pals Georgia Kousoulou and Shelby Tribble, just as her marriage was hitting the rocks after Andy was accused of cheating on her. Showing her ex exactly what he's missing, she returned to the island, writing: "Back To My Happy Place." Footballer Andy swiftly moved on after 11 years with Billi, and is now daying celebrity make-up artist Lou Teasdale. The couple have been showing off their new relationship on social media, with Andy sharing numerous photos of them on holiday, unable to keep their hands off each other. One image saw them kissing on a sunbed, while a video uploaded showed them enjoying a pool party, their arms around each other as they sang. But reports suggest tensions were rising while Billi watched on from home. A source claimed that not only was she caring for their three children, she was also looking after his two children from his previous relationship with ex-fiancee Faye Johnstone. A friend of Billi's told The Sun: "Everyone thinks Andy is acting like an utter p***k and is making himself look like a total fool posting so many sexy shots with Lou - who he moved on with alarmingly quickly after separating from the mother of his kids. "While he is off gallivanting around the party island, posting all these snaps that scream 'we are having hot sex!', Billi is at home looking after not only their children, but his two kids from a previous relationship with ex-fiancee Faye Johnstone. It's a silent gut-punch to Billie, who is an angel and adores the kids - looking after them and protecting them from this circus is her number one priority." The Mirror previously contacted Billi and Andy's reps for comment. Billi and Andy share three children - Arlo, Wolf, and Marvel Mae. Billi is also caring for his two older children, Emilie Rose, 15, and Lucas, 14 from his past relationship. The former TOWIE favourite often shares photos of all five of them on Instagram. Her family and friends are said to be furious with Andy's behaviour. Their marriage was turbulent from the start, with Andy's stag do antics leading to Billi moving out of their Essex home. She ditched her £200,000 engagement ring after he was pictured in bed with two women as he lay passed out on his stag do in Dubai. The photos were circulated on social media, with Billi coming round after he apologised and insisted nothing ever happened with the women. The women who shared them also apologised and said they never had sex, with Billi ending up tying the knot with Andy.

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Bradley Walsh said 'they sadly let me go' as he opened up about a major setback earlier in his career. The 65-year-old is known to many now as the popular host of ITV quiz show The Chase. Before that he appeared on a host of TV shows, including a two-year spell as Danny Baldwin on Coronation Street. But Bradley's career could have taken a very different turn early on. Aged just 18, in 1979, he signed a professional contract with football team Brentford. His time as a professional footballer saw him going on loan at Barnet as well as having spells with Tring Town, Boreham Wood and Chalfont St Peter. Although, at 22, he was forced to give up his playing career after suffering an ankle fracture. On the Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? podcast in 2024, Bradley opened up about the moment he signed for Brentford as well as being let go by the club. He explained: 'I was playing locally for my mum's hospital team, she worked in a hospital, and I was playing in a match, I'd played for the county and things like that, and I'd been a Watford junior, and then, unbeknownst to me, I'd been watched for about a month. (Image: BBC) 'I'd had a good month and it was the groundsman who was the chief scout at Brentford and he came and watched me and he gave me the opportunity to play on a Monday evening against Southend United and I scored the winning goal. 'That was it, and I signed on for two years. I played about 50 games and I scored two goals.' Bradley says he '100 percent' would have had a 'full football career' if he could. He believed he was 'on the brink' of making it through to the first team before he started suffering with injuries. He added: 'Sadly, I suffered a quite bad injury, I was always recovering from an injury, and that's one of the reasons they let me go in the end. I was just too injury prone.' (Image: sean wilton) After his football career came to an end, Bradley became a bluecoat at Pontins before working as a stand-up comic. It was then he was recruited by what was Anglia Television. His first venture into presenting game shows was with Wheel of Fortune in 1997. In 2020, Bradley fronted a Christmas edition of Blankety Blank. The programme was a hit, watched by 5.26 million people, prompting the BBC to commission a full series. The show sees a panel of six celebrities attempting to help a contestant fill in the blanks and win prizes. This week's famous faces are Sue Perkins, Iain Stirling, Dermot O'Leary, Naga Munchetty, Ellie Simmonds and Layton Williams. Blankety Blank will air tonight (June 21) at 8pm on BBC One.
