Huge Robert shock in early Emmerdale ITVX release
The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has returned to the Emmerdale village and as much as he won't accept it, he isn't the same man who left all those years ago. We saw Robert a few weeks ago, when he interrupted Aaron Dingle's (Danny Miller) wedding to John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). It became apparent that Robert had been released after appealing, but he was quickly sent back inside after breaking the rules of his bail conditions. But with his small sentenced served, Robert was allowed back out of prison and wasted no time in heading back to the Dales. When he got there yesterday, Robert entered Mill Cottage flat due to John assuming he was the pizza delivery guy. Robert announced that he was back to spend time with his family – though it was obvious he had an ulterior motive as well. In tonight's episode, Robert told Vic that he'd spend the day trying to find a new job. He had passed the early hours of the morning walking through the village because he couldn't sleep, but told his sister it was because he had missed the fresh air. Robert headed up to the depot to see Caleb Miligan (William Ash) and spun a story about his life that didn't feature him in prison. Unfortunately for Robert, Caleb saw right through his lie due to being told about him by his brother. However, Caleb could see that Robert wanted a chance and gave him one. It made John angry later in the pub, even more so when Caleb failed to listen to him about Robert being bad news. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? That afternoon, while Vic was at the shop, Robert tried to catch up on some sleep. When she returned, Vic set about pouring a drink for the two of them. As she chatted away, she failed to realise Robert was suffering a bad dream about his time in prison. More Trending Vic tapped Robert's leg to wake him up but just as he opened his eyes, his confused state led him to punching Vic in the face. Robert tried to help her, but a panicked Vic told him to leave. Can she live alongside Robert and his trauma following years behind bars? Hollyoaks confirms unexpected new love interest for Clare Devine in dark story
Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) ups the ante in Hollyoaks next week as part of her plan to get Tori (Harriet O'Shea) back in her life – and she uses Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) in order to do so. The legendary schemer, who has done some pretty bad things in her time, stated earlier this week that she had been diagnosed with cancer, claiming the treatment isn't working. In typical Clare fashion, there is no truth to such claims and the development came rather out of the blue, with the villain devising the plan after a trip to the hospital to visit sister Grace Black (Tamara Wall). Upon seeing patients receiving treatment, she formulated a plan, hoping she could use her cancer claims as a way to manipulate herself back into daughter Tori's life. Dodger, who had been hostile towards Clare previously over her role in the exploitation operation, softened once she stated that she had cancer. Sienna Blake (Anna Passey), however, knew full well that Clare was up to no good, urging her brother to proceed with caution where the returnee is concerned. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Clare subsequently asked Dodger for help in shaving her head – and he complied, with a spark seemingly forming between the two. Determined to get Tori back, Clare capitalises on this growing connection next week, with new pictures shared with Metro revealing a first look at the scenes to come. Dodger stumbles upon Clare in a seemingly weakened state and, horrified, he offers to lend a hand. With the undercover cop falling for her lies almost instantly, Clare is delighted and thus she proceeds with the next step of her plan, which entails making him feel very guilty over taking Tori from her given her condition. Mission accomplished. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? Afterwards, a heart-to-heart ensues, with Clare stating that she simply believed Alistair (Drew Cain) was having an affair – not that he was a hardened criminal involved in exploitation. The pair grow incredibly close but a phone call interrupts them, scuppering Clare's plot. For now. More Trending Ever the opportunist, the schemer concocts a plan to get Dodger over to the flat later in the week. Dodger apologises for thinking she had a role to play in her late husband's crimes. The chemistry sizzles and Dodger starts to worry that the lines are getting blurred as he comes to realise that he's starting to fall for Clare. Will Clare succeed in getting what she wants? Or will Dodger see through her lies before it's too late? View More » Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4's streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4. Coronation Street cast hit by fresh blow as budget cuts continue to bite
The Coronation Street cast have been hit by a fresh blow amid the ongoing budget cuts - which have seen a number of changes in the long-running ITV soap throughout the year The cast and crew of ITV soap Coronation Street are reportedly said to be "furious" over the latest impact of budget cuts. Earlier this year, it was reported the long-running soap had made changes to filming in a bid to cut back on expenses. Now, the cast and crew have been hit with another huge blow, as the latest impact has reportedly left them forking out for their own summer party. In January, it was reported the show had infuriated some of the cast by reducing the number of established characters filming inside the iconic Rovers Return pub in a bid to save money. The show has also seen a number of departures this year including Colson Smith (Craig Tinker) and Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgeley). The latest change reportedly means the cast have had to organise their own summer party, which each person paying £22 per for the bash. They'll also be paying for drinks on top of the sum, which covers venue, entertainment and security. A source told The Sun: 'It's been a difficult few months and people were really looking forward to the party, but it puts a bit of a dampener on things that they have to pay. 'It might not be a lot to some of the bigger known stars but for some staff it is. The fact that drinks aren't included is a real blow too. People aren't really that surprised though considering the constant budget cuts.' The Mirror understands that the Coronation Street crew organised the party, not ITV bosses, and the whole team is said to be looking forward to the event. The Mirror have contacted Coronation Street and ITV for comment. The news comes months after it was announced the soap would be cutting down to five hours a week, rather than six. However, it's not the only ITV soap to have their hours cut, as Emmerdale will also follow suit. The change is set to take place at the beginning of 2026. From January, there will be a soap 'power hour', with Emmerdale airing for half an hour each day at 8pm. Coronation Street will air straight after at 8.30pm each day, again for half an hour, as the drama from the Cobbles returns to its daily offerings. However, there's also a huge positive in January for both soaps, as for the first time ever, they'll join forces in an unprecedented, one-off special episode to launch the broadcaster's new power hour. It will mark the first time a crossover has happened in British soap history, will see characters from both soaps come together in a celebration of the soap genre.

Nina and Summer in Corrie witness horror incident that stuns them to silence
A midsummer party turns into a drug-fuelled nightmare for some of Coronation Street's usually more well-behaved residents in upcoming episodes – and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) are involved in a horrific incident. The party is at the home of the Alahans, where Aadi (Adam Hussain) has lately been bemoaning the fact that his life is a bit dull. To spice up his life he decides to throw a party, and Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) suggests a midsummer theme, because of it being midsummer and she loves a bit of a pagan vibe. Summer and Nina opt for some floral headwear as a nod to the occasion, while Brody (Ryan Mulvey) decides that nothing is more likely to get the party started and his bank balance boosted than supplying a few illegal drugs to the party-goers. Aadi spots him trying to sell LSD and throws him out, though Brody doesn't leave without a fight. It's not his first run-in with Aadi, after all. Once he's gone, Aadi, Summer and Nina prepare to sample the drugs, although Aadi is distracted by a commotion and his share ends up being taken by someone else – with shocking results. Later, feeling the effects of the LSD, Nina and Summer leave the party and head towards the cafe. Nina lets them into the darkened establishment – and it's there that things take a sinister turn. As they're freaked out by the sound of sirens in the street they cling to each other in terror as a terrifying scene unfolds. The next day they're shell-shocked and try to make sense of what happened the night before. Retracing their steps, they try to piece together what happened. More Trending Nina, however, is so troubled by what happened that she talks to her uncle Roy Cropper (David Neilson), telling him that she took hallucinogenic drugs at the party. She says her memories of what happened don't entirely make sense to her, but Roy urges her to tell the police what she remembers, as it's clear that something very troubling happened that evening. Ryan Hawley's character faces danger in worrying scenes, as killer John Sugden strikes again according to some rather cryptic spoilers. While it's being kept a mystery on what actually happens, what we do know is that John wants to get rid of his brother after seeing him as a threat. After finding out about his husband Aaron Dingle kissing his ex Robert, and with Robert desperate to expose him and win Aaron back, John wastes no time in seeking an opportunity to get rid of his sibling for good. Events next week reach a scary point where a lifeless Robert could well become John's next victim. The Mirror's soap insider has teased "tense" and "edge-of-your-seat" moments set to air based on the spoiler release, as fans will no doubt be screaming at their TVs for John to leave Robert alone. Spoilers revealed that after Robert is drugged by his date, John drives off with Robert in the back of his van. It's not been made clear if John has orchestrated the drugging or not, but he's soon very much involved. Robert soon finds himself at the mercy of killer John it would seem, or at least that's what the soap has teased, as he's left lifeless - and images see John looming with a syringe in his hand. But will Robert really go as far as to kill his sibling? Our soap insider shared: "There's tense scenes planned for sure, and fans will no doubt be on the edge of their seats as John makes his feelings clear. There's a perilous moment for Robert and he has no idea of the danger he's in." It all kicks off when Robert spirals, having been rejected by Aaron and his sister Victoria Sugden. As he struggles, he hits the bottle and turns to hook-ups in a bid to make Aaron jealous. It seems he lashes out at his sister too in upcoming scenes as she's sporting a black eye and he feels guilty. He moves out thinking it's for the best leaving his sibling concerned, while Robert's hopes for a job also look set to fall flat despite Caleb Miligan offering him an opportunity. John finds out and pressures him into ending the trial, and when Caleb does so it's Jai Sharma who lets slip to Robert that John was to blame. Robert confronts his half-brother, who is determined to do whatever it takes to get him out of the village. After he tries to get Victoria to report Robert for hitting her, Robert fears the worst and is devastated. This doesn't go as John plans though, and soon we see a concerning twist unfold with Robert unconscious in the back of his van. "It looks as though John is preparing to take deadly action, hovering over a lifeless Robert with a syringe in-hand," our soap insider went on. "Fans know only too well what happened the last two times John was seen wielding an syringe, with poor Nate Robinson and Aidan Moore learning the hard way." While spoilers have hinted Robert wakes up, it's yet to be revealed if there's more scenes with John or if he remains in danger. Our insider teased: "John will take whatever measure necessary to see Robert out of his life, and Aaron's. "He's rattled, he's scared and he knows the only thing that could lead to him losing Aaron for good is Robert. As far as John's concerned, his brother is in the way. Family or not, he wants him gone." But is Robert in danger, and would John really go so far?
