PHOTOS: Megan Moroney kicks in some country to get Boston Calling 2025 rolling
The self-proclaimed 'Emo Cowgirl' turned some heads in Boston on a rainy Friday night and it's not just because of those shiny white boots, bright red dress and matching lipstick.
Megan Moroney took the stage after Sheryl Crow and got the country fans in attendance ready for two-time Country Music Association Award for Entertainer of the Year winner Luke Combs with her own award-winning country twang.
Moroney, 27, went from watching Kenny Chesney in concert from section 312 of Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2018, to dropping a duet with Mr. No Shoes Nation just a few weeks back called 'You Had to Be There.' She first got noticed when she opened for Chase Rice while she was a student at the University of Georgia.
Speaking of Moroney and Combs, she actually made an appearance in his 'Beer Never Broke My Heart' music video back in 2019, well before she dropped her latest chart-topper 'Am I OK?' and 2022 breakout hit 'Tennessee Orange.'
Moroney will be back in Boston this summer, when she hits Roadrunner for a pair of shows in early August.

Boston Calling is held at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 23 through Sunday, May 25.
The festival made several improvements for the 2025 festival after receiving backlash in 2024 over unsafe conditions, crowd control and capacity issues. Among the improvements are a new site map, more water stations and a reorganization of stages.

Vampire Weekend gives penultimate performance on Sunday at Boston Calling (Photos)
Indie rock band Vampire Weekend gave the second-to-last performance of Boston Calling's final night, dazzling audiences with newer material and hits from their early years in the 2000s. Lead vocalist Ezra Koenig, joined by bassist Chris Baio, drummer Chris Tomson and others, serenaded audiences to tunes such as 'Campus,' 'A-Punk' and 'Classical.' Vampire Weekend's set on the Green Stage was sandwiched between ska punk band Sublime, who preceded them, and rock headliner Dave Matthews Band, the final act of the music festival's three-day run. Goth Babe animates audience at Boston Calling with crowd surfing, contest (Photos)
Indie rocker Goth Babe brought the crowd at the Boston Calling Green Stage in on the action during his Sunday set with features such as crowd surfing on inflatable rafts and a dance-off competition for a coveted prize. The singer, whose real name is Griff Washburn, delighted fans with chill beats such as 'Canary Islands,' 'Weekend Friend' and 'Casita' across his 45-minute allotted afternoon spot. On two occasions, Washburn handed off pool floats to volunteers so that they could be carried through the crowd by their fellow spectators. Read More: Vampire Weekend gives penultimate performance on Sunday at Boston Calling (Photos) Some of the rafts eventually toppled, but the riders — assisted by members of the crowd — were lifted back into position. Spectators also bounced around beach balls of varying sizes through the air as Goth Babe dove through his discography. At one point, Washburn divided the crowd into left and right sections and asked concertgoers to out-dance one another, with one lucky fan winning the prize of an inflatable boat. The left side won the battle.
