The movie is produced by Kosinski under his Monolith Pictures banner, alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman (Jerry Bruckheimer Films).
Seven-time F1 World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton (Dawn Apollo Films), Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner (Plan B Entertainment) also took over the role of producers.

The red-carpet event will mark a return for the film's cast and crew, who wrapped production during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December 2024.
Mohamed Dobay, Acting Director General of Creative Media Authority, said: 'We are looking forward to welcoming back the cast and crew for a fourth F1-related occasion after hosting the team on three different shoots across three years. Not only in terms of duration but also in terms of economic impact, the 'F1® The Movie' production has made a significant difference to Abu Dhabi's creative ecosystem and to host the region's premiere as part of a global tour, this will be a fitting closing moment and celebration to the full lifecycle of the production project and our first official partnership with Apple Original Films.'

The regional premiere is supported by the Creative Media Authority, Abu Dhabi Film Commission, and local production partner Epic Films.
The film was shot across real Grand Prix weekends at global locations, including an intensive 29-day production phase in Abu Dhabi.
Key filming sites included Yas Marina Circuit, Zayed International Airport, and twofour54 Studios.
A total of 284 local crew members contributed to the production, with support from Abu Dhabi Film Commission's rebate scheme and the involvement of fifteen UAE-based interns who trained alongside some of the world's leading film professionals.
'F1® The Movie' follows the fictional story of Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a once-promising F1 driver from the 1990s whose career was derailed by a major crash.
Decades later, he is drawn back into the sport by former teammate Ruben Cervantes (played by Javier Bardem), now the owner of a struggling Formula 1 team on the verge of collapsing.
Hayes is recruited for one last comeback, racing alongside a rising rookie talent, Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), as personal rivalries and past traumas collide on and off the track.
Sameer Al Jaberi, Head of Abu Dhabi Film Commission, added: 'We are incredibly proud to be hosting a premiere for 'F1® The Movie' – a moment which will see many of the cast and crew return to Abu Dhabi after wrapping 29 days of production – including days at the Yas Marina Circuit. As we continue to drive the film and TV production industry of Abu Dhabi forward, milestone moments such as premieres provide us the ideal opportunity to celebrate our collective efforts to support the visions of some of the world's leading directors and producers from Arabic, Bollywood and Hollywood within a welcoming and supportive environment.'
The film is among more than 180 major productions supported by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission since the introduction of its incentive programme in 2013.

Brad Pitt needs to ‘try and be calm' on the road

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Brad Pitt has admitted he needs to 'chill' while driving. The Hollywood star - who plays racer Sonny Hayes in new blockbuster F1 - got to speed around racetracks for the movie, but he acknowledged he should learn to slow down when he's out and about. Noting he is 'trying to be calm in traffic', Brad told Extra: 'I'm one of those that feels like I'm always on the racetrack and I need to, like, chill. 'I just need to chill. So that's this year, just trying to chill. Enjoy the sights, don't sweat the traffic. 'I'm not doing very well, by the way.' The 61-year-old actor's character in the movie is a retired driver making his return to the sport, and Brad has seen parallels with the film world. He said: 'It's nice... It's a funny thing because I see the new generations coming in and it's really exciting what they're doing, and the movies are about a place in time, in our time, and they reflect our time… 'I really enjoy it, but I so enjoy what other people are doing, so it's less of a hunt and more of an appreciation, you know, as the natural evolution happens.' Brad recently opened up about having to learn from his mistakes, as he appeared to reflect on lessons learned following his divorce from Angelina Jolie. He told Entertainment Tonight: 'o matter the mistake, you know, you just learn from (it) and move on.' Brad added about making an error: 'It'll lead to the next success.' The A-lister and and Angelina concluded their divorce in December 2024, more than eight years after the actress, 50, first filed to dissolve their marriage in September 2016. The couple, who starred together in Mr and Mrs Smith, share six children – Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16. Speaking about what keeps him grounded at this point in life, Brad said: 'At this age, you see how important it is to surround yourself with the people you know, the people you love, the people that love you back.'

Formula 1 launches new personalised mobile app and website

Formula 1® has relaunched its mobile app and website to make them easier to navigate and to allow fans to personalise their experience, accessing all the information and content they want more quickly and in a way that suits them. Within the innovative, updated F1 mobile app, fans can now curate their experience by selecting multiple drivers and teams for detailed tracking during sessions, as well as following their overall performance across the season. The redesigned homepage promotes both short-form and long-form video content and introduces new formats such as mobile-first stories and vertical video, which provide a more modern and familiar user experience and integrate best practices from across social platforms and digital entertainment products. Both redesigned platforms will also showcase content from F1 TV for fans who want to watch premium live and on-demand action, as well as key telemetry and data points from the embedded Live Timing subscription service. The ultimate F1 companions, the app and website were tested with the fan-base throughout the development, ensuring their requests were prioritised alongside all of the other enhancements. Accessibility was an important element, with video overlays enabling fans to watch content with or without sound, while the adaptive font-sizes and dark/light modes ensure content is available to the widest possible audience. The app and website changes initially focus on improved content discovery across breaking news, race and technical analysis, location guides, along with the much-loved Fantasy and Predict games, where fans can test their knowledge against each other. Future phases are now planned for the addition of a wider range of exciting content themes, as well as an enhanced F1 Unlocked membership offering. Visit and download the app from the iOS or Android stores.

Motorsport fans are a big part of F1 film, says Brad Pitt

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Brad Pitt craved the approval of motorsport fans while filming F1. The 61-year-old actor plays a Formula One driver in the new racing film, and Brad admits that having the support of sports fans means 'everything' to him. He told 'Extra': 'If we didn't pass their bar, then we were dead, you know? 'And to get that kind of, I don't know, response means a lot to us, because we have, again, so much respect for these drivers, for this sport, for everyone, the teams, everything they put into it. They made the movie too. They're a big part of the film.' Brad was always confident that the Joseph Kosinski-directed movie would win over the sceptics. He explained: 'I felt pretty confident in what we have. 'You know, I feel like we successfully thread this needle that's for longtime fans that really understand the sport as well as newcomers, and they understood that was our goal, and, I don't know, I think they had fun too. I think it's just fun. It's really good fun.' Brad actually shot some scenes at the Silverstone racing circuit in the UK. And the Hollywood icon admitted to feeling anxious when he walked on the track at the British Grand Prix. Brad shared: 'We had been, like, rehearsing there for a few weeks, so it kind of felt like it was home. 'But then when the whole race movement comes in it's such a juggernaut of a machine. It is really awe-inspiring, and then to get on the track with 100,000 fans, I was a little bit nervous.
