Even before his upcoming movie F1 hits theatres, Hollywood star Brad Pitt has already delighted his Indian fans with a thoughtful sartorial for his fondness for India and fond memories of past visits, the actor was spotted wearing a shirt from an Indian brand that celebrates the country's rich actor wore a Tangaliya shirt by homegrown fashion label 11.11/Eleven Eleven, as captured in one of the behind-the-scenes photos from F1's shoot. Mercedes' George Russell earned pole position and his first win of the season in the best weekend of the season for the team. F1 CEO says drivers are its 'protagonists' and drama is good for business
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali is on a mission to expand the company's global footprint and grow its US audience — and that means spotlighting the "protagonists" of the sport. "They are our jewel, our stars," Domenicali said about F1 drivers at a press roundtable on Monday. Unlike in sports like football or baseball, he says it can be a challenge to make F1 drivers "the face" of the sport when they're not as physically visible during races. With drivers shielded by cars and fully suited in helmets and gloves, it can be tough for fans to get to know the drivers behind the wheel, the CEO said. High-profile films like "F1: The Movie," starring Brad Pitt, or the Netflix docuseries "Formula 1: Drive to Survive," help generate buzz. The CEO also said that tension between drivers and clashes on and off the track can be good for business — and there's been no shortage of such. Races have resulted in many iconic moments, like the on-track collision in 2021 between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, which triggered an outburst from Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff. Domenicali joked that there's some truth behind the idea that "all press is good press." He said it's generally good when people have something to talk about. The CEO added that viewers are "attracted" to the "sporting drama" and casual fans may be especially interested in the lifestyle aspect of the races. As the company expands its global footprint and reaches more Americans, Domenicali said F1 needs to "cover a very wide portfolio" of viewers and understand the specific needs of each segment. That means using different narratives and languages to tell the story of the sport, Domenicali said. F1 has already proved successful in diversifying its fan base to some degree. The company's audience has grown to 41% female, compared to 37% in 2018, a spokesperson told BI. While "there are limits" to drama involved in the sport, the tension has added to its competitive nature, especially as F1 increasingly evolves into an entertainment brand. Domenicali said the company wants drivers to have different personalities rather than being "20 clones" of the same person. At the end of the day, F1 embodies much more than driving, he said. "If you want to drive, Uber driving can offer you a great opportunity to do a lot of driving," he said.

Joseph Kosinski Director Of F1Reveals Why Bridgerton Actress Simone Ashley Role Was Taken Out From Final Cut
Washington : 'Bridgerton' fame actress Simone Ashley has been cast in the high-octane racing drama 'F1' alongside Brad Pitt and Damson. However, despite shooting some scenes in the movie, her role was cut in the final cut, reported People Magazine. When asked about the change to Ashley's part, director Joseph Kosinski tells People, "It happens on every film, where you have to shoot more than you can use. There were two or three storylines that ultimately didn't make it into the final cut." Kosinski, though, lauded the talent of the actress Simone and expressed his wish to work with her again. "But Simone, she's an incredible talent, incredible actress, incredible singer, and I would love to work with her again," Kosinski adds as quoted by People. Simone Ashley has not commented on her reduction of the role yet. Earlier this month, while speaking to ELLE as quoted by People, Ashley said making F1 was a "crazy" experience. "I have a very small part, but I'm grateful to be in that movie. I got to experience many Grand Prix. I don't think I'll ever do anything like that again," said Ashley as quoted by People. The 'Bridgerton' actress previously told Who What Wear magazine, as quoted by People, that the production on the film 'F1' had been "going for years" as she revealed how long her role was in the works. "I met for this movie, I think, before Bridgerton even came out. It's been a long time, and you know, it's Damson and Brad's movie. I'm just so grateful that I can be part of it. You had to work as a team. Sometimes we literally had one take for certain shots. Like, you'd see on the call sheet eight minutes to get this one thing because we were shooting alongside the races," said Simone Ashley as quoted by People. According to an official synopsis, Pitt will be playing the character of Hayes in F1. Hayes was Formula 1's "most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career." "Thirty years later, he's a nomadic racer-for-hire when he's approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling Formula 1 team that is on the verge of collapse. Ruben convinces Sonny to come back to Formula for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world," the synopsis continues. "But as the engines roar, Sonny's past catches up with him and he finds that in Formula 1, your teammate is your fiercest competition and the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone," read the synopsis as reported People. The film also stars Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles and Samson Kayo, while Lewis Hamilton is one of the producers. 'F1' is in theatres on June 27.

Lando Norris loses Nico Rosberg's backing after his actions at Canadian GP
Lando Norris' F1 title challenge has been undermined by a series of errors in qualifying and races, prompting Nico Rosberg to change his championship prediction Lando Norris has lost the backing of Nico Rosberg following his latest error. The McLaren driver broke Formula 1's golden rule by colliding with team-mate Oscar Piastri as they fought over fourth place in the closing stages of the Canadian Grand Prix. The contact, which occurred on the pit straight, immediately put Norris out of the race and brought out the safety car. While the British driver accepted responsibility, Piastri was able to continue, taking fourth place to extend his lead over Norris to 22 points. Norris went into 2025 as the favourite for the drivers' title after an impressive 2024, which saw him fight eventual champion Max Verstappen for the crown. With McLaren possessing the fastest car, the 25-year-old made the perfect start by winning the season opener in Melbourne, but he has struggled since, making a string of mistakes under pressure in both qualifying and races. Meanwhile, Piastri has been almost error-free. After 10 rounds of the 24 rounds, the Australian has won five races to Norris' two. That has prompted 2016 world champion Rosberg to alter his pre-season title prediction, despite being a 'big Lando fan'. 'He's enormously talented and probably one of the most talented out there. He was my absolute favourite for the championship as well,' the German, who retired after beating Lewis Hamilton to the 2016 title, told the Sky Sports F1 podcast. Asked if he had now changed his mind, Rosberg added: 'Yes, it's in Canada that I changed that. Oscar Piastri is now my favourite for the championship, because Lando has not yet been able to iron out these regular mistakes. 'At the moment, that's what would cost him winning the championship. I don't see him ironing them out at the moment We have to remember, too, that this is a new situation that they have never been in before. It's so different from battling for fourth, fifth place, being the hunter and chasing the best of his generation in Max Verstappen. 'When you go into a season as a massive favourite to win the drivers' championship, you have the car to win every race, that's like a 10x difference in pressure. That's what Lando and Oscar are now facing and that's what's caused the shift. Lando was the dominant [McLaren] driver last year and now Oscar has moved ahead. For me, it's that pressure situation that has changed the dynamic.' Norris has been brutally honest about his struggles. Speaking after his blunder in Montreal, he said: 'Rule number one is not to make contact with your team-mate, and that's what I did. 'McLaren is my family and I race for them every single weekend and try and do well for them on and off the track. So when I let them down like this and make a fool of myself like I did today, I have a lot of regret. I'm not proud of myself, I feel bad, so apologies to all of them.' Meanwhile, team principal Andrea Stella conceded the incident might affect Norris' confidence going forward. The Italian said: 'This may have an impact in terms of his confidence. 'We will have conversations, and the conversations may even be tough, but there's no doubt over the support we give to Lando and over the fact that we will preserve our parity and equality in terms of how we go racing at McLaren between our two drivers. 'The situation would have been different if Lando did not take responsibility and apologise. Lando will have to show his character to overcome this kind of episode and make sure that he only takes the learnings to become a stronger driver.' The title battle resumes at Austria's Red Bull Ring at the end of June before the British Grand Prix at Silverstone the following weekend.
