The movie which took four years to produce, is directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on Top Gun: Maverick . It stars Brad Pitt, Damson Idris and even the current Formula 1 drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, Fernando Alonso and Pierre Gasly. The movie follows Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a promising driver who had an accident that nearly ended his career. 30 years later, the owner of a struggling Formula 1 team convinces him to return to racing and become 'the best in the world.' Driving alongside the team's hotshot, Sonny learns the road to redemption is not an easy task, and not one to travel alone. Will Formula 1 fans give this movie the champagne celebration it deserves, or will it be a 'DNF'? We will have to wait and see. Jurassic World Rebirth Release date: July 3 For fans of the franchise…our terrifying, scaly friends are back on the big screen this July. Now in its seventh installment, the roaring action of Jurassic Park Rebirth takes place several years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion . We will join a team of scientists heading to a remote island on a mission to secure some genetic material that could possibly be a medical breakthrough that could save thousands of lives. If you thought the dinosaurs from past editions were scary, well… you'd be wrong. The ones on this island were deemed too dangerous for the original park, and we are about to meet them…and something a lot more disturbing. Superman Release date: July 10 If you're out of touch with this iconic DC Comics character, thankfully you don't need to start from scratch, as director James Gunn has designed it to be a fresh starting point for new viewers. We bid a teary farewell to Henry Cavill and welcome David Corenswet who soared into action, taking over the blue and red suit. The plot, however (and as with most superhero movies), is hard to pinpoint. What we do know is Clark Kent is working as a reporter at the Daily Planet newspaper with Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), and he is trying to live a normal life, or at least a balanced one. But are things really that simple? He faces trouble when Lex Luthor – a smart and powerful enemy – comes in his way. While we're obviously used to seeing Superman dominate in the 'good versus evil' theme, this movie showcases a Superman that is driven by compassion with an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind. Get your tickets here. The Naked Gun Release date: July 15 Remember protagonist Detective Sergeant Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen)? How could you forget him? The bumbling police lieutenant – without a doubt – bought the giggles with his performance in The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad as he somehow managed to save the day without even realising it. And now… 27 years later, we are being gifted a reboot. Meet Frank Drebin Jr (Liam Neeson), the son of Frank Drebin. He too, is a bumbling cop. What can we say… like father, like son. Drebin Junior's quirky police department is in danger of being shut down unless he can crack a major case. He teams up with Beth (played by the one and only Pamela Anderson) to solve her brother's murder… but not without stumbling through it all. Expect the classic gags, nods to the original movie, and modern twists. It's pure, chaotic, old-school comedy. Why Ferrari can't win in F1, but it can win Le Mans. Plus, Robert Kubica praise

Welcome back to Prime Tire, where I still don't know what Lando Norris was thinking in going left and not right against Oscar Piastri late in the Canadian Grand Prix. But the other big story from Montreal concerned Ferrari. Specifically, team boss Fred Vasseur's reaction to critical reporting of La Scuderia in Italian media after Ferrari's poor performances so far this year. Then, its World Endurance Championship Hypercar won the 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours, and everyone started thinking the same thing… I'm Alex, and Luke Smith will be along later, but first, we hear from one of our valued readers. The F1 roots in Ferrari's Le Mans success 'I hope you are going to do a longer piece on this, but what's with Ferrari? If they can put together a winning program in WEC, etc…' Well, to the anonymous but still cherished reader who replied with the above to our mailbag call out for questions last weekend, thank you for the query, and I hope I can do it justice in reply. The answer is: Not really, but it cannot be denied that the Ferrari 499P's third successive victory at Le Mans essentially all came down to the WEC's Balance of Performance technical rules. These are intended to create performance parity between the eight manufacturers that compete for glory in the category's top class. This is the equivalent of the Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class in the IMSA SportsCar Championship stateside. Advertisement The Porsche Penske 963 car that finished second by only 14.1 seconds last Sunday had pretty much a perfect 24-hour race — as explained here on The Race's dedicated 2025 Le Mans podcast — and all three Ferraris that surrounded it hit issues. Many were self-inflicted. That the 499P topped the speed traps on an 8.47-mile track with three massive straights, despite there being a dedicated Le Mans BOP to balance top speeds for each car above 155mph, played a big part in a Porsche defeat that should've been greater. The consensus from observers is that the Le Mans-specific BOP failed in 2025. Ferrari has now won all four of 2025's WEC races to this point and dominates both the drivers' and manufacturers' standings. Oh, how Fred Vasseur's squad must envy such positions. And Ferrari's F1 team came into 2025 on a high. After scoring its highest win total for six years last season, it had a little-known seven-time world champion named LEWIS HAMILTON onboard for the first time. But its SF-25 car has been a clear step backwards, and although Ferrari is not far off second in the 2025 constructors' standings right now, it hasn't looked like doing a Mercedes and snatching a win off the McLarens/Max Verstappen battle at the front. Here's why: Vasseur also bizarrely claimed, 'It's not like this that we'll be able to win a championship… at least not with this kind of journalist around us.' Let me tell you, if journos have the reins of an F1 technical department that will make for absolutely spiffing headlines, but not good cars… An upgrade for Ferrari's ride height issue is expected to be unleashed across the coming Austrian and British races. Mercedes has shown how, in Canada, with the field so close, even as McLaren dominates, it doesn't take much for a team's results to be transformed. No pressure then, Fred… Now, and apologies to the TL;DR crowd, but here's why the Ferrari WEC car has proved to be so successful, even the quasi-privateer squad AF Corse could take overall Le Mans glory in 2025: Here ends my TED Talk, but we're not leaving the sports car realm just yet. What a day last Sunday was for Williams' 2019 F1 driver line-up. Not only did George Russell win the Canadian GP, but his teammate that year, Robert Kubica, led AF Corse's Le Mans triumph. That's no exaggeration — he completed 43% of his car's laps, 387 for a three-driver crew. Kubica will need no introduction to seasoned motorsport fans, but just in case it's handy, here's his career summary. Kubica's rally crash not only nearly killed him, but it also stopped him from completing a mooted Ferrari F1 deal to race alongside Fernando Alonso back in 2012. Dark days and many surgeries followed. His grit and perseverance deserve all the applause. Congrats, Robert. Now here's what the F1 paddock had to say about his Le Mans win. The last time I spoke to Robert Kubica was at the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He'd spent the season as Sauber's reserve driver, but was starting to dip his toe further into sports car racing, having made his 24 Hours of Le Mans debut that year in the LMP2 class. He was somewhat noncommittal when discussing F1 (his main backer was heading to AlphaTauri), but when I started talking about sports cars, he lit up. The debate over the future of Le Mans and its chances of racing in the Hypercar category one day took up the majority of the interview. I even got a compliment (rare for racing drivers!) about how much he enjoyed the chat at the end. Advertisement So, to see Kubica now an outright Le Mans victor, in a Ferrari, filled me with joy — and the rest of the F1 paddock too. Both before and after the race finished at 10 am in Montreal, people couldn't help but share their delight over the result. To this day, Kubica's determination and speed command such respect in the F1 world. 'I'm very happy for him,' said Fernando Alonso, himself a double Le Mans winner. 'We talked a few times about how special that race is, and he deserves to experience that. He's a legend of our sport. And now he is even more after winning Le Mans in his career. (After) some of the pain that he went through with the accident and things like that, I think, today is a very happy day for motorsport.' Vasseur called Kubica 'extraterrestrial' for what he'd achieved at Le Mans. 'What he's doing is mega, and to win in Le Mans in this situation and to be the leader of the car, it's something that I can't imagine,' Vasseur added. 'I'm very pleased for Robert. He had a chaotic career in motorsport, and when you see the level of effort that he put into his career, I'm pleased for him to have this kind of result.' Kubica may never have gotten the F1 career or success he deserved, but Sunday was a firm reminder of just how fondly he is thought of within our paddock. 🎲 Daniel Ricciardo's life outside F1 took an… interesting turn yesterday when it was announced he's done a deal with a betting company. The reaction from fans on his Instagram page was so bad that the eight-time grand prix winner had to limit comments. Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt To Reunite On Screen After 31 Years? Here's What We Know
Last Updated: Brad Pitt said he is open to working with Tom Cruise again, but has one condition. Brad Pitt is open to working with Tom Cruise again, as long as he doesn't have to do any big stunts. The 61-year-old actor hasn't appeared on-screen with the Mission: Impossible star, 62, since 1994's Interview with the Vampire, and Pitt has now revealed he would collaborate with Cruise again, on the condition that his feet stay firmly on the ground. Speaking with E! News, Pitt said: 'Well, I'm not gonna hang my a** off airplanes and s*** like that. So when he does something again that's on the ground [then yes]." Pitt will next be seen in F1 – the high-octane racing movie from Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski. In F1, Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a retired racer who returns to the track with new blood Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) in a bid to become the best Formula One driver in the world. While Pitt wants to avoid doing any major stunts in a Tom Cruise movie, the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor had driven at 180-miles-per-hour in real Formula One cars for F1. Speaking at a Q+A event in March, Kosinski said: '[Pitt] just had that natural feel for grip in the car, and what we're doing on this film is dangerous. So yeah, you have to be fearless, and when you see Brad driving, that's not acting." He added: 'He's really concentrating on keeping that car on the track and out of the wall during all those scenes. So that's something that you just can't fake, I think. I hope the audience feels that when they watch the movie." The filmmaker added that Pitt had undergone 'months of training" to prepare for the racing scenes, which also involved learning the art of the sport under the tutelage of seven-time Formula One world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton. Kosinski explained: 'Brad and Damson are both driving in this film and in order to get them into these race cars, it required months, literally months of training. But the first day was really fun. It was me, Brad and Lewis Hamilton at the track together, all of us jumping in cars and driving each other around in sports cars, which was one of those things, I'll never forget having Lewis Hamilton as your driving instructor. But what we learned and what Lewis was really interested was seeing did Brad knew how to drive right? Because if Brad can't drive, this whole film wasn't going to work." The director said Hamilton found Pitt to be a 'very talented, naturally gifted driver" when they first sped around the track together. Kosinski said: 'And what Lewis was very happy to discover was that Brad had a lot of just natural ability right from the start. And I don't know where he got that or if he was born with it, and he rides motorcycles, which I think has something to do with it, but he's just a very talented, naturally gifted driver, which for Lewis after that first meeting gave him a lot of confidence that we might have a shot at pulling this off." Brad Pitt Is Open To Working With Tom Cruise, But There Is One Condition

Brad Pitt, who is eyeing the release of his sports-drama F1: The Movie, has opened up on the possibility of sharing the screen space again with Tom Cruise. They were seen together in the 1994 film Interview with the Vampire. In an interview, Pitt said he would love to work with Tom Cruise, but on one condition. Any guesses? No sky-high stunts, please. We get it, Brad Pitt, we get it. In a chat with E! News, Brad Pitt shared, 'I'm not gonna hang my a** off the airplane and s**t like that." Pitt, currently busy with the promotion F1 racing film, talked about his reunion with Cruise. The actor stated he will consider working with Mission: Impossible star 'when he does something again that's on the ground." In the same chat, Pitt went on to talk about some of the unusual habits he developed while working on F1. 'Before getting in the car, I always have to get in on the left side," he said. Pitt added, 'I have to put my left shoe on first, I'd have to put my left glove on first." Talking about Tom Cruise, the actor is well-known for pulling off heart-stopping stunts in his films. In the Mission: Impossible series, he was seen skydiving, flying helicopters, scaling skyscrapers and jumping off a cliff. Earlier, Pitt and Cruise collaborated for the 1994 film, titled Interview with the Vampire. The gothic cult classic saw a rivalry between the two, which even reached the tracks. 'We raced go-karts. He got me in the end. I gotta admit," Pitt recalled. Meanwhile, earlier this year at a Paramount event, Tom Cruise lauded Brad Pitt's driving skills, especially given his upcoming F1 film.
