Gunther Shares How WWE Stars Reacted to His World Heavyweight Championship Win
Gunther says no one greeted him backstage after WWE RAW win.
Gunther defeated Jey Uso on WWE RAW to become a two-time World Heavyweight Champion. Jey, who previously beat The Ring General at WrestleMania 41, held the title for 51 days before dropping it in a shocking result. Many expected Jey to retain, but Gunther secured the win after making him pass out to a sleeper hold.

The new World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther, appeared on the RAW Recap show and spoke candidly about what happened after his victory backstage. He revealed that no one greeted him backstage, unlike other champions who often receive congratulations and celebrations from other WWE Superstars.
Gunther isn't in WWE to make friends
'Everybody gets excited about everything in this business, a lot of my colleagues don't seem to have many friends at home or something like that. To them it's very important to have a good time here at work with all the guys together. When somebody achieves something they come to the back and everybody's there, hugging them. When I walked backstage today, there was no one. Everybody left, I guess all the other guys saw it on the screens, saw the finish and left to their hotels, or to travel home or something.'
'I like that, I enjoy that position. I don't need friends, I'm not here to make friends. I'm not here to bond or make lifelong friendships, I have a few friends, I have a great family. That's all I need, and I'm here for business, I'm here to uphold the standard and prestige of this great sport. Currently, it does not appear Lee is going to come back to WWE anytime soon. The closest she has come to an in-ring return was filming wrestling scenes for Heels. She has ventured into other mediums since her retirement. Lee was featured in Sacramento, a new movie starring Michael Cera and Kristen Stewart. However, nothing is impossible. Her husband, CM Punk, did the unthinkable in 2023 and returned to WWE. He was away from the company and wrestling altogether for several years after his initial leave. Advertisement In between his WWE tenures, Punk tried his hand at UFC and also joined their biggest competitor, AEW. Punk was with AEW from 2021-23 before returning to WWE. So, never say never. However, with every passing year, it becomes increasingly unlikely she will ever return to the ring. Hopefully, Jade or Perez make it happen. Well... Tom Brady still certainly feels a certain type of way about the New York Jets. The longtime New England Patriots quarterback and AFC East of the Jets took aim at the Green and White recently and cornerback Sauce Gardner was somewhat involved as well. Advertisement The legendary QB had the chance to take part in a WWE wrestling event at Fanatics "Fan Fest" in New York on Friday and he certainly took the villain route. While one clip of Brady only shows him with a Jets jersey, he took some hate out on a New York Giants top during the moment too. Relating to Gardner, Brady did a wrestling-style entrance at one point and snagged a Jets jersey. It had Gardner's name on the back. Brady appeared to (or pretended) to spit on the jersey after throwing it to the ground and he stomped on it. Gardner eventually saw the clip and reacted in a hilarious (and NSFW) manner.
