My boyfriend shamed me as a ‘w****' for having laser hair removal – he thinks I did it to ‘show off' but he's so wrong

The Sun20-05-2025

A MAN has come under fire after brutally dubbing his girlfriend a ''w****'' for having laser hair removal.
The outraged girlfriend took to Reddit where she explained that her partner had an issue with her ''hairless'' body, which he reckons she only wants to ''show off''.

According to the anonymous social media user, 18, the 20-year-old fella - whom she's been dating for three months - recently sent her a rather bizarre text message.
The shocking text exchange sees the boyfriend asking how his girlfriend is always ''so hairless'' - to which she replied and explained that she did laser hair removal for nearly two years.
She also added that while getting it done everywhere apart from her face was ''a lot'', it's been totally ''worth it'' - something the man deemed ''wild''.
Despite the teenager adding it was ''convenient'', the partner didn't stop there, insisting that having a hair-free body was ''some w**** behaviour''.
''You don't spend that much money and time lasering everywhere unless you plan on showing it off,'' he said, the horrified woman shared the screenshots of their shocking texts on the forum.
Baffled, she replied: ''It makes me a w**** because I got my hair removed?''
While the young boyfriend said he was ''just being honest'', the girlfriend dubbed his words and opinion ''disrespectful''.
Not sure how to move forward with the bizarre events, she sought advice on Reddit.
''I told him honestly that I did full body laser hair removal for nearly two years.
''I got this done when I was 15 to 17. He got weird and literally called me a 'w****' for it.
Skinny dipping, body counts & menace girl summer: it's de-cuffing season | Date. Delete. Repeat.
''I was shocked and I'm not sure how to feel or if I should be hearing him out on this?
''Was I overreacting? It felt really disrespectful.''
'That was a terrible response from him. Abusive actually'
The Reddit post has since taken the popular platform by storm, leaving many just as gobsmacked as the poor woman.
Domestic abuse - how to get help
DOMESTIC abuse can affect anyone - including men - and does not always involve physical violence.
Here are some signs that you could be in an abusive relationship:
Emotional abuse - Including being belittled, blamed for the abuse - gaslighting - being isolated from family and friends, having no control over your finances, what you where and who you speak to
Threats and intimidation - Some partners might threaten to kill or hurt you, destroy your belongings, stalk or harass you
Physical abuse - This can range from slapping or hitting to being shoved over, choked or bitten.
Sexual abuse - Being touched in a way you do not want to be touched, hurt during sex, pressured into sex or forced to have sex when you do not consent.
If any of the above apply to you or a friend, you can call these numbers:
Remember, you are not alone.
1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience domestic abuse over the course of their lifetime.
Every 30 seconds the police receive a call for help relating to domestic abuse.
As many urged the young woman to put an end to the relationship, one said: ''So got hair removal…,BFORE YOU MET HIM, but You are disrespectful?
''FFS, ditch this loser. He's a full blown CREEP! Gross!''
Another was just as baffled, writing: ''Where the f**k yall finding these people.
''No like seriously, where the f**k are yall finding these people?''
Some also warned the teenager of what's to potentially come if he's already showing signs of overreacting.
''If you stay with him…expect much more of this. A new outfit? 'Who you wearing that for?' A haircut? 'Why you trying so hard?'''
''He called you a w****. He called you a w****. He called you a w****,'' someone else reminded.
''You are not overreacting. That was a terrible response from him. Abusive actually,'' another reader said.

Superman fans still upset over David Corenswet's 'terrible' flying face

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Superman fans are still upset over David Corenswet's flying in a new snap from the upcoming movie about the beloved DC action hero. On seeing the picture, in which Superman looks like he's in an inspiring Amazon delivery ad, fans couldn't help but notice that David looked 'weird' in the wide-angle lens. 'The zoomed in fisheye lens look is so weird to me. I know everybody and their grandmother is obsessed with James Gunn and thinks he's some perfect filmmaker, but so much of the promotional material for this movie makes me want to not see it,' said @syaokuro on X. 'The close up shots look so weird,' said @Its_Me_Cole, while @ZibahTheCreator added: 'Why does it look AI generated than an actual studio work?' 'Probably gonna skip this one until it's free,' commented @Lbnumber34, while @adijain31 simply said: 'Looks funny af.' 'POV im waiting for you to give me my lil kiss on the forehead,' joked @Cuellar_Elissa about the hopeful facial expression on David's face. 'We need to retire this camera angle for good,' said @Rasheto. 'I know he REALLY wants this shot but man you gotta let this s**t go,' said @Jdemfoo. 'It looks terrible, unflattering and there's basically no right way to light this scene. Cutting room floor.' Some compared the moment to similar shots of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as Black Adam and Will Poulter as Adam Warlock in movies gone by. When the teaser trailer dropped in January fans had the same issue. 'I don't know why you would shoot a shot like this in that way. It's always gonna make a head appear bigger and give the shot a weird look – it also accentuates David Corenswet's strabismus eyes,' Reddit userDoctorBeatMaker reflected. 'I think there's something wrong with the cape too. It looks way too fake somehow,' equal-ad-2710 wrote. 'If I had to guess they've used this lens because it gives off a greater sense of speed and to be fair I definitely do get that feeling from it, even if it makes his face look a little weird because of the angle,' TheJosider defended. 'This shot looks so bad every time. why do filmmakers insist on it?' ProtectMeAtAllCosts complained. Over on X, many were comparing the flying sequence to Henry Cavill's version when he played Superman from 2013 to 2017 in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. 'Biggest downgrade in history of DC on screen,' chriwankenobi posted. 'The real issue isn't just the face it's the way he's flying the arms by his side just makes the flying look uncomfortable it makes David look ill at ease superman should look at ease when he's flying the flying should be graceful,' moviestvmad echoed. 'Seriously, what is up with these weird face-on lens distortion flying shots focusing only on the character's face lately? Black Adam, Adam Warlock, and now Superman. 'There are so many cooler ways to visualize flying; just look at anything in Man of Steel. These just look goofy,' @ColtonC_20 argued. For those worried about the use of computer graphics, however, the CEO of DC Studios and filmmaker James Gunn shut down speculation on Threads. 'Looks dope!! Great camera angle of Superman flying!! Except there's something with his face that looks a little off. I know there's plenty of time to refine the CG,' @blutattu commented. James replied: 'There is absolutely zero CG in his face. People's faces can look different when you put a wide angle lens up close. The background plate in Svalbard [a filming location in the Norwegian archipelago] is 100% real as is David.' For the most part, there is plenty of excitement for this new take on the age-old superhero, which also stars Rachel Brosnahan as heroine Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as villain Lex Luthor. 'Lives will be changed. I can't wait for this!' @silverscreen_re wrote. 'This movie is gonna be so f**king good…I actually can't wait,' @thecollectorn shared. 'Keep getting more and more hyped for this,' @theslyfox13 wrote. In a recent interview with Gizmodo, James reflected that the new movie was about the 'basic kindness of human beings' and even offered a rebuttal to the more toxic side of the internet. He continued: 'When I watch the trailer and the movie, we do have a sort of battered vision of Superman at the beginning. I think that is our country. 'I believe in the goodness of human beings. And I believe that most people in this country, despite their ideological beliefs [or] their politics, are doing their best to get by and trying to be good people, despite what it may seem like to the other side and what that other side might be. 'I think this movie is about that. It's about the basic kindness of human beings. And that it can be seen as uncool, and it can be seen as under siege when some of the darker voices are some of the louder voices. 'That's what happens when you let the internet seem like it's the world—when it's not the world. The world is us.' More Trending Meanwhile, the 31-year-old actor has previously opened up about the side-effects of bulking for the role. 'I wasn't 238 (pounds) when we started shooting. I was 238 at my max,' he told the Manly Things (Soft Of) podcast last year, as a result he 'didn't fit into any of [his] pants.' Superman arrives in cinemas on July 11, 2025. This is how much it costs to get the Lauren Sanchez look

She's a one-time astronaut, trained pilot, entrepreneur, mother of three, and former television presenter, and 55-year-old Lauren Sánchez is set to make (more) headlines next week when she becomes the second Mrs Bezos. Fresh off her glamorous, no-expenses-spared hen do in Paris, where she and attendees – including Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry and Eva Longoria – stayed at the glitzy Hôtel Cheval Blanc, Sánchez is getting ready to tie the knot to Bezos, the third richest man in the world, in Venice. But who is the woman behind the headlines? Born and raised in Albuquerque New Mexico, she was a key member of the cheerleading squad, former beauty pageant queen and innately glamorous, kind and confident – according to those who knew her in her youth. Old photos showcase (typically 1980s) voluminous, flicked hair, a honed but curvaceous physique and killer tan, not to mention a rather bewitching glare. However, it was during her 20-year career as a TV presenter and news reporter – where gigs included So You Think You Can Dance and Good Day LA – when her beauty aesthetic really evolved from small-town beauty to glamazon. Renowned for her fierce Fox news presenter glam (think glossy blow dries, heavily-shadowed eyes and a dazzling smile) she is a symbol of a very specific American look, where visits to one's aesthetic doctor – whether for laser treatment or injectables – are non-negotiable. Her look has certainly changed over the years, with rumours swirling over various treatments she may or may not have had done since the early Noughties. It is any bride's prerogative to indulge in all her favourite treatments in the lead up to the big day, so here we take a look at those Sánchez seems to like. The tan: £250 'If Lauren Sánchez is wearing a spray tan in recent photos, it's been executed to perfection,' says James Harknett, tanner to the stars, including Daisy Edgar-Jones, Kylie Minogue and Demi Moore, adding that it is expertly colour matched. 'High-profile clients expect a bespoke tan that looks like their skin, but richer. I carry more than 30 different formulas to tailor the result, but Three Warriors do one that is flattering on most skin tones.' Many well known faces have someone come to their home, the price for which is between £150 and £250. The tweakments: £1,050 Just like many of the experts consulted for this story, Dr Sophie Shotter – who is known for her natural-looking tweakments – notes that Sánchez's face looks structurally different from 10 years ago. 'Now she looks more fierce,' she says, adding that this might be as a result of surgery or injectables, like dermal filler – which costs about £650 for a syringe with Dr Shotter – in her cheeks and lips. 'She's clearly looking after her skin and I suspect she's had smatterings of muscle-relaxing injections, such as Botox [costing about £400], too – she looks really fresh,' adds Dr Shotter. The teeth: £26,000 Sánchez has an eye-catching set of pearly whites – uniform and symmetrical, dentist Dr Sam Jethwa of Bespoke Smile says it's relatively uncommon to see teeth quite so perfect without cosmetic enhancement. 'Her teeth have a glossy finish which suggests she may have veneers – these are thin porcelain shells that are placed over the front of natural teeth,' he explains. 'They can enhance the shade of the smile, create balance and facial harmony and correct imperfections such as chips, cracks, and uneven edges.' Veneers with Dr Jethwa will set you back around £1,350 to £1,630 per tooth. The nails: £700 She prefers to keep things neutral on her nails – chunky French manicures and pearlescent nudes. Tom Bachik, who also regularly works with Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez, is her go-to manicurist; the pair have worked together on a number of nail looks, with one of the most notable being a 'pink glass slipper mani' for the 2024 Met Gala. Feminine and elegant, the look evoked 'sheer iridescent glass' while drawing attention to two rather show-stopping diamonds on her fingers. While an appointment with a technician like Bachik is hard to put a price on, the most luxurious manicures in the UK can reach £700. The workout: £120 In a 2023 interview with Vogue, Sánchez revealed that she works out with the newly-muscled Bezos, calling him a 'monster in the gym'. She has shared videos of her own workouts – often with trainer Wes Okerson, who is a Hyrox athlete (competing in running and functional training workouts – not for the faint-hearted) and personal trainer. The pair do a lot of resistance training (including Nordic hamstring curls and dumbbell squat presses) to build muscle, which isn't just essential for a lean, strong physique, but good health too. £120 is the going rate for a luxury personal training session in London. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lauren Sanchez (@laurenwsanchez) The hair: £870 Favouring long, swishy brunette lengths, Sánchez turns to hair pro Pete Burkill for her cut and colour. With clients including Anna Kendrick, Millie Bobby Brown and Sánchez's friend Natasha Poonawalla, Burkill recently took her raven lengths to a more sun-kissed shade, with stealthily-placed highlights and balayage. An age-old colourist hack to bring luminosity to the skin and frame key facial features, Sánchez's new look is perfect for summer – and, of course, for getting wed. A full head balayage and tint with Burkill at Josh Wood Salon (where he works part time) costs £575, while a cut and blow dry is £295. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lauren Sanchez (@laurenwsanchez) The cosmetic work: £24,000 Experts agree that Sánchez appears to have had facial and breast cosmetic surgery. 'When comparing earlier and more recent images, there are features suggestive of facial rejuvenation procedures,' says the cosmetic surgeon Patrick Mallucci. 'Her facial structure would suggest she's had a mid-face lift with brow lifting and rhinoplasty.' One of her close friends, Kris Jenner, 69, recently paid an estimated £100,000 for a facelift, and while the jury is out on whether Sánchez has had one too, prices for a mid-face lift in the UK can reach £15,000. Famed for his natural approach to breast augmentation, Mallucci also notes that she's had breast surgery, opting for a 'fuller, more obvious look, with round-shaped implants'. While today patients tend to opt for a more natural aesthetic, with smaller or teardrop-shaped implants, the full cleavage look is more popular in the US. In London, breast augmentation typically ranges from £8,000 to £9,000, however for a surgeon with extensive experience and a highly specialised approach, like Mr Mallucci, fees are considerably higher. The make-up: £843 Turning to Buster Knight – whose clients also include Jenner and Paris Hilton – for her glam, Sánchez favours flawless skin, a nude lip and defined eyes. You'll often find her sporting a diffused feline flick and set of ultra fluttery lashes, whether at the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda show last year or Cannes Film Festival. Knight has credited the Dr Sebagh Rose de Vie skincare range (the serum is £132) and Dr Vali's Cutis micro-contouring tool (£625) to 'get red carpet snatched' before make-up application, while her base make-up often comes courtesy of Armani Beauty's Luminous Silk Foundation (£47) and Concealer (£39). View this post on Instagram A post shared by Buster Knight🧿 (@busterknight) The other beauty treatments: £955 With a killer set of brows, it's likely that Sánchez gets her brows threaded regularly (costing £95 a session with Anu Khapung at The Dorchester). She is also a fan of lash extensions, £360 for an hour with Edy London, preferring a feathery, full effect – faux lashes are individually applied to natural hairs to create a semi-permanent look, no mascara needed. And then there are facials; with her even-toned complexion and fresh appearance, Sánchez is likely to have them regularly. Whether sculpting face massage, microneedling or LED light therapy, the UK's top London facialists combine a multitude of different modalities, for prices that can reach more than £500 for an hour appointment.

Tammy Hembrow breaks silence following split from husband Matt Zukowski after just seven months of marriage as she shares emotional message for her fans

Tammy Hembrow has spoken out following her high profile split from her husband of seven months, Matt Zukowski. The 31-year-old fitness influencer posted to her social media to address the separation and to pay tribute to her followers who reached out after news broke of the split over the weekend. 'Thank you to everyone who sent a kind message of love and support,' Tammy shared to her Stories on Monday. 'You definitely know how to make a gal feel less alone that's for sure, ' she remarked and added, 'I appreciate it so much you have no idea.' She included a picture of a water view through a window, which featured a setting sun surrounding by storm clouds. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. She captioned the moody shot, 'Sunshower', and included a love heart emoji. Love Island Australia star Matt, 29, announced the couple's separation on Sunday in an Instagram video, while Tammy later made an emotional statement on TikTok. Despite their short-lived marriage, both parties have asked for privacy as they adjust to life post breakup. Meanwhile, Tammy's staggering $50million net worth could be in jeopardy amid her divorce from the former reality star. Tammy made her fortune after launching her activewear label, Saski Collection, in 2017 and her designs are now sold in more than 190 countries. Subscriptions for her Tammy Fit app have also been a success and range from $114.99 per year to $24.99 per month. In addition to her two fitness-related companies, Saski Collection and Tammy Fit, she boasts 17.1million followers on Instagram and 1.31 million subscribers on YouTube. Tammy also owns a luxurious $2.88million five-bedroom waterfront mansion on the Gold Coast which she purchased in August 2020, before meeting Matt. Meanwhile, Matt's net worth is unknown, but it's believed to be significantly lower. He currently co-hosts his podcast Where's Your Head At? with his ex-girlfriend and fellow Love Island alum, Anna McEvoy. However, Tammy may be able to avoid a 50/50 asset split as family law in Australia does, in some cases, focus on each party's financial contributions. Tammy and Matt confirmed their split on Sunday, with the dating show star telling fans the decision was not taken lightly. 'It's with a heavy heart I share that Tammy and I have decided to separate,' Matt began. 'Both of us have struggled with making this decision however we need to do what is right for ourselves and her three children. 'This wasn't a decision we took lightly. Our time together will always be cherished and never forgotten,' he added, before thanking fans for their support and asking for privacy. 'We appreciate everyone's support and space at this time as we navigate the split,' Matt concluded in his emotional post. Tammy later addressed the split in her video, telling fans she will be getting a divorce. 'I don't want to get into the details and I want to be sensitive to everyone involved,' she told fans. 'Obviously when you marry someone, you do it thinking that it is going to be forever and I blame no one but myself,' Tammy continued while breaking down in tears. 'I've made not the best choices when it comes to relationships. I'm good at putting on rose-colored glasses. 'Obviously the worst part for me is that I have kids. I don't care about me, I know I will be ok but I feel awful.' Tammy first sparked concern in March after she was spotted crying in a bathroom, while Matt was later overheard allegedly 'talking crap' about his wife at a South Melbourne gym. In the weeks that followed, Matt quietly moved out of the couple's Queensland home and relocated back to Melbourne, where he resumed working for his father's pool business. Meanwhile, the Gold Coast-based influencer has remained in Queensland with her three children - son Wolf, nine, daughter Saskia, seven, and toddler Posy, three - from previous relationships. Matt was notably missing from several major family events over the past two months, including Tammy's 31st birthday, Posy's fairy-themed third birthday party, and even Easter weekend. Tammy and Matt tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Chateau Du Soleil in Byron Bay on November 23. They got engaged in December 2023 following just three months of dating. The jet-setting pair were engaged in the Maldives, before heading off to Greece and Bali for luxury holidays. Tammy has been engaged twice before, the first time to influencer Reece Hawkins, who she shares her son Wolf and daughter Saskia with.
