WWE 'WrestleMania 41': Seth Rollins wins with help from Paul Heyman

April 20 (UPI) -- Seth Rollins was able to defeat his two biggest rivals after receiving help from Paul Heyman at WrestleMania 41.
Rollins faced off against Roman Reigns and CM Punk in a Triple Threat match in the main event of WrestleMania Saturday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. WWE said the sold-out show had 61,467 fans in attendance.

Heyman, also known as The Wiseman, normally works for Reigns but was in the corner for his friend Punk after Punk was owed a favor.
All three competitors had epic entrances with Rollins using a flamethrower and Punk having band Living Colour perform "Cult of Personality."
The battle included Punk and Rollins brawling throughout the stands and Reigns Powerbombing both Punk and Rollins through announce tables.
All three men were down after Punk nailed Rollins with a GTS just before Reigns took down Punk with a Spear. Rollins ended the sequence by delivering a Stomp to Reigns.
The pivotal moment arrived when Heyman grabbed a steel chair and had to decide between giving it to Punk or Reigns. Heyman chose Punk but then, in a surprise twist, The Wiseman took Punk down with a low blow.

Reigns was overjoyed to have his Wiseman back and started beating Punk down with the steel chair. Heyman told The Tribal Chief to focus his efforts on Rollins. As Reigns got ready, Heyman pulled off his second betrayal of the night and took Reigns down with a low blow.
Rollins was then able to easily win the match and ended WrestleMania Saturday with Heyman of all people raising his hand in victory.
Other moments from WrestleMania Saturday included WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton successfully defending her title against Charlotte Flair in a highly competitive match.
Stratton was able to survive a Figure Four from Flair and a Natural Selection from the top rope. Stratton put away Flair after landing The Prettiest Moonsault Ever.

Stratton also had a notable, Barbie-themed entrance.
Jey Uso defeated Gunther in the opening match to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Uso, who wanted revenge for what Gunther did to his twin brother Jimmy Uso, won the match after placing The Ring General in his own sleeper hold.
The New Day defeated The War Raiders to become the World Tag Team Champions, Jade Cargill defeated Naomi, Jacob Fatu defeated LA Knight to become the United States Champion, and El Grande Americano defeated Rey Fenix, who was substituting for an injured Rey Mysterio.

Matt Cardona Makes John Cena Post After Getting Called Out During Smackdown

Matt Cardona Makes John Cena Post After Getting Called Out During Smackdown originally appeared on Athlon Sports. WWE Undisputed Champion John Cena and TNA Wrestling superstar Matt Cardona broke the professional wrestling fourth wall over the past two days. Advertisement It all started during Friday's episode of WWE's weekly show, 'SmackDown,' where Cena faced off against Ron Killings in the main event. Ultimately, Cena lost the match by disqualification because he hit Killings in the head with his championship belt. Then, CM Punk, a longtime rival of Cena's, came out to engage in a brawl with him that ended with Cena slamming Punk through a table. As Punk laid through the broken table in pain, Cena created his own version of Punk's infamous 'Pipebomb' segment from 2011, where he let his feelings be known about his longtime rival. As Cena's segment continued, he decided to give a shoutout to three former WWE superstars: Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro), Nic Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler) and Cardona (Zack Ryder). This caused the crowd to burst into cheers, and Cardona issued a response to the moment on X. Advertisement 'Hey @JohnCena,' Cardona posted on Friday along with an old photo of himself and Cena on Saturday from his time in the WWE. However, the callout is not a surprise because the WWE started a multi-year partnership with TNA Wrestling in January, allowing both promotions to have their wrestlers to compete in each other's companies. So far, the partnership has been primarily focused on WWE's developmental show NXT, where TNA superstars such as Joe Hendry and TNA Knockout World Champion Masha Slamovich have competed in several matches. Meanwhile, Punk is expected to challenge Cena for the WWE Undisputed Championship at the Night of Champions pay-per-view on June 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Jake Weary: Playing charismatic Cane on 'Waterfront' is a game changer

Photo courtesy of Netflix NEW YORK, June 21 (UPI) -- Animal Kingdom and Walking Dead: Dead City actor Jake Weary says he wanted to star in The Waterfront because the new Netflix drama gives him the chance to play a type of character he doesn't usually get offered. "It was a character that I've never really explored before, someone who is really outwardly charismatic and charming and trying to use his charms to get certain things and manipulate people," Weary, 35, told UPI in a phone interview Thursday. "I'd always played more introverted characters and characters that are harboring secrets and there's just a lot of darkness," he said. "There are elements there with Cane, but I think, for the most part, he's someone that actually smiles. I usually play characters that just scowl all the time, so I thought it was kind of a nice game changer for me." Now streaming on Netflix, the show was written-produced by Dawson's Creek and Scream creator Kevin Williamson. It follows the Buckleys, a wealthy North Carolina family as they try to save their fishing empire by smuggling drugs. Weary plays Cane Buckley, while Holt McCallany plays his father Harlan, Maria Bello plays his mother Belle and Melissa Benoist plays his older sister Bree. "I always thought Cane is kind of the glue that kept the family together," the actor said. "I feel like he's the one that creates the big Buckley family group chat, just to check in with everybody," he added. "When he notices that the family is in dire straits, he really jumps at the opportunity to take the bull by the horns and fix things." Weary and his co-stars quickly bonded when they arrived on the show's set in North Carolina. The actor described himself and Bello as "besties" and said they frequently text since she has been working out of the country and haven't been able to see each other for awhile. "And me and Holt have this really, really strong relationship, too, because I think there are a lot of parallels in our lives," he added. "We both had mothers who were big-time divas. His mother was a ballroom singer and my mom was a soap opera actress," Weary said, referring to McCallany's mother, entertainer Julie Wilson, and his own, Guiding Light icon Kim Zimmer. "We both grew up on the East Coast and have similar interests and can, literally, talk for hours. Having the two of them together [Bello and McCallany] together was just a dream come true." Further connecting the cast and crew was the fact that Hurricane Helene ravaged North Carolina while they were there. "There's a lot of people on the crew whose homes were affected by the hurricane," Weary recalled. "You could see how it brought the crew together. Everybody was super-supportive of each other," he said. "It was just really beautiful to see." One perfect Holt McCallany scene to welcome you to The Waterfront. The new series from Scream and Dawson's Creek creator Kevin Williamson is now playing. Netflix (@netflix) June 19, 2025
