Paddy McGuinness' model wife goes public after divorce as pictures with women emerge The TV presenter is between the sticks for England at Soccer Aid after a rocky few years in his personal life Paddy McGuinness and Christine McGuinness (Image: 2018 Neil Mockford ) Soccer Aid is back for 2025, with TV presenter and comedian Paddy McGuinness among the famous faces set to take to the pitch at Old Trafford on Sunday evening. The Phoenix Nights, Top Gear and Take Me Out star has been a long-time supporter of the huge charity match, first taking part in the event in 2010. He will once again pull on the England shirt this weekend as he takes on the World XI alongside his famous teammates which include Paul Scholes, Bella Ramsey and Sir Mo Farah. His appearance comes after a rocky few years in his personal life, having split from his former model wife Christine in 2022. The couple married in June 2011 and went on to have three children - a twin girl and boy and a younger daughter - together. However, in 2022, it was announced that they had separated after 11 years of marriage, although Paddy continued to live at the family home in Cheshire. In a joint statement, the couple said: "We hadn't planned on sharing this publicly until we were ready but after the lack of privacy surrounding our personal life, we feel left with no other option but to clarify. Article continues below "A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children. "This was not an easy decision to make but we're moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children. We'll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together." Christine McGuinness speaks about sexuality In the wake of the split, it emerged that Christine - who is now open to dating men and women - had 'grown close' to singer-songwriter, TV presenter and footballer Chelcee Grimes before her separation from McGuinness. Christine became friends with Chelcee - who shared the field with Paddy at Soccer Aid in 2020 and also played at the 2021 and 2022 editions - when they met on ITV show The Games. While the pair never confirmed or denied that they were dating, they were later seen walking hand-in-hand and kissing as they jetted off on holiday to Ibiza together. However, despite their previously close relationship, the two women are believed to have had a falling out in 2023, as they unfollowed each other on social media. Chelcee later liked a damning comment about Christine on social media, which branded the Real Housewives of Cheshire as "fake as they come," according to The Sun. She later reportedly accused Christine of "copying everything I do" after the former model revealed she was celibate, with Grimes also previously abstaining from sex. Grimes is not taking part in this year's Soccer Aid, having also not featured at the 2023 or 2024 events. Christine has now spoken publicly about her sexuality, saying: 'It shouldn't matter if they're male or female, it shouldn't matter what their gender is. I shouldn't really ever even have to explain in any way who I want to spend my time with. That's my business. 'I'm just at the point where I think I've got a nice balance of going, yeah I date women and so what, what's the big deal? But also knowing that I don't have to go into big, massive detail about it either.' She said photographs of her dating women had circulated 'multiple times" and she was surprised at the interest people seem to have. Article continues below Paddy will be playing in goal for England at Soccer Aid on Sunday, who also count the likes of Sam Quek, Roman Kemp and Dame Denise Lewis among their celebrity players. Meanwhile, Tony Bellew, Richard Gadd and Gorka Marquez are among the famous faces representing the World XI, who are hoping to claim back the Soccer Aid title after losing it to England for the first time in eight years last time out.

Peter Kay's Car Share co-star Sian Gibson feared she'd 'ruined' his career
Sian Gibson had given up on showbusiness and was was living happily in Mold, north Wales with her family, when an email from the actress' old friend Peter Kay changed everything Sian Gibson had worked with Peter Kay more than once before winning the role of Kayleigh in Car Share, appearing in That Peter Kay Thing and three episodes of Phoenix Nights. But when she first saw a script for the much-loved BBC series, she had almost completely given up on acting. 'I was working in a call centre in Chester when Peter sent me a script, asking what I thought of it,' she told the Radio Times. Sian, who pops up on Sunday Brunch this weekend, has stayed busy since the success of Car Share. She's appeared in Death in Paradise, Taskmaster and most recently with Timothy Spall in the BBC's Death Valley. But she didn't think Car Share would restart her acting career – in fact she thought her performance might have wrecked Peter Kay's career as well: 'When I first saw it, I thought I was dreadful – I was worried that I had just ruined Peter Kay's career.' Sian's fears proved to be unfounded and Car Share went on to be one of the most-watched shows on iPlayer, winning multiple awards including Best Comedy at the 2016, 2018 and 2019 National Television Awards. Sian has known Peter for many years. They had bonded over a shared sense of humour while they were studying performing arts at the University of Salford. She says she was sure that he was the student from her year that was most likely to succeed. Peter would painstakingly edit together his home-made sketches into short films, Sian recalls, and had a perfectionist streak that viewers would soon see in Car Share. Songs on the show's fictitious Forever FM radio station often blossom into wildly imaginative 'pop video' fantasy sequences. Sian's path to fame was a little rockier than Peter's, she revealed. 'Things were great at the beginning of my career. Because I'm short, I always played younger parts. I was in my 20s and always played teenagers. Then I hit 30 and that doesn't work anymore. It all just dried up.' She recalled one disastrous audition that, for a while, looked like it would be the last one: "I remember going to the final audition of my acting career,' she recalled. Sian explained that the audition was for a small role in Emmerdale: "All I had to say was, 'You alright?' I sat in the waiting room getting nervous and I was that desperate for the job I couldn't even deliver the line – I was too hyper because I wanted it so much. That's when I realised it was over.' She married her husband Ian, a gas fitter, and in 2013 they had a daughter together. She wasn't too keen on her job in a banking call centre but it was steady work and she ended up staying there for several years: "Because the people were nice and it was next door to a lovely garden centre that did the best toasties,' she told the Independent. 'I'm still not entirely sure what they did.' When Peter sent her the Car Share script, she asked him why he hadn't chosen 'one of those really good actresses' such as Suranne Jones or Sheridan Smith, but he explained to her that what was most important to him was their easy chemistry, which came from a 20-year friendship.

The Phoenix Nights and Max & Paddy star, 51, is sitting alongside fellow Boltonian and BBC Radio 2 DJ Vernon Kay for the new run of episodes. Paddy and Vernon's involvement in the new series of the TV reaction reality show was announced just hours before its returned on Friday, June 6. And in that first episode of the new series, Paddy confessed to an unexpected celebrity crush that he says he wasn't supposed to have. The pair were watching clips of Countdown together when co-presenter Rachel Riley appeared on the screen to deliver one of the quiz show's numeracy rounds. The couple's divorce was finalised in 2024, but they still live in the same house in order to make things easier for their children, who are all autistic. On Loose Women, Christine explained to panellist Coleen Nolan that she and Paddy's living arrangements were 'the same as always' and that they still spend Christmas together. 'I don't want the children going to different houses,' she said. 'And you know when they come home from school, they struggle with change anyway.' In a new interview, Christine admitted that the divorce has been expensive, but she's determined to be able to say: 'I paid for my own divorce.' During an appearance on The Shizzio Show podcast, she said: 'There was times where it was fine and really civil, and we were agreeing on what we wanted and what we were going.
