Paddy McGuinness reveals his unexpected celeb crush 'he wasn't supposed to have'
Celebrity Gogglebox is back for another year – and Paddy McGuinness has already used the show to confess to a surprise celebrity crush.
The Phoenix Nights and Max & Paddy star, 51, is sitting alongside fellow Boltonian and BBC Radio 2 DJ Vernon Kay for the new run of episodes.
Paddy and Vernon's involvement in the new series of the TV reaction reality show was announced just hours before its returned on Friday, June 6.
And in that first episode of the new series, Paddy confessed to an unexpected celebrity crush that he says he wasn't supposed to have.
The pair were watching clips of Countdown together when co-presenter Rachel Riley appeared on the screen to deliver one of the quiz show's numeracy rounds.
At that point, Paddy spoke up: 'There's something about Rachel Riley. I don't know what it is. You know when you have, like, a celebrity crush that you're not supposed to have?'

Joking about Paddy's comment, Vernon remarked that '[Rachel] is a [Manchester] United fan,' referencing the fact that Paddy and Vernon both support fellow Lancashire side Bolton Wanderers.
'Oh, I've gone right off her!', Paddy immediately shot back, jokingly deciding that Rachel's choice of football team was enough to kill his crush stone dead.
Paddy was married to ex-wife Christine McGuinness (née Martin) between 2011 and 2024 – the couple had three children, including two twins, together across 13 years.
In 2022, it was announced that the couple had separated, but they would continue living in their family home together with 10-year-old twins Penelope and Leo, and seven-year-old Felicity.
The couple's divorce was finalised in 2024, but they still live in the same house in order to make things easier for their children, who are all autistic.
On Loose Women, Christine explained to panellist Coleen Nolan that she and Paddy's living arrangements were 'the same as always' and that they still spend Christmas together.
'I don't want the children going to different houses,' she said. 'And you know when they come home from school, they struggle with change anyway.'
In a new interview, Christine admitted that the divorce has been expensive, but she's determined to be able to say: 'I paid for my own divorce.'
During an appearance on The Shizzio Show podcast, she said: 'There was times where it was fine and really civil, and we were agreeing on what we wanted and what we were going. More Trending
'Then there was times where it felt like we were starting all the way back at the beginning. It's the biggest bill I have ever paid in my life, and I will say that I paid for my own divorce, nobody else.'
Celebrity Gogglebox is back for its seventh season, with the first new episode available to watch on Channel 4 – each Celebrity Gogglebox season so far has had six episodes.
The first season of Celebrity Gogglebox premiered in 2019, and the show has run annually in June ever since, featuring famous faces from the world of showbiz and TV.

Rare Olympics 50p coin sells for 21 times its face value on eBay – have you checked your change?
A RARE 50p coin featuring the offside rule from the London 2012 Olympics has sold for over 21 times its face value in a recent eBay auction. The coin, part of a special set created to celebrate the Games, went for £10.51 after a bidding war. 5 5 The listing came from a seller in Manchester, near Bolton, who described the piece as 'rare'. The coin received 13 bids before finally being sold. Its design shows a football pitch with a diagram explaining the offside rule, which helped it catch the attention of collectors and football fans alike. The designer said: 'I'm a football fan, I've followed the Premier League since its inception and if I had fifty pence for every time someone asks what the offside rule is then I would be a rich man.' A spokesperson from the Royal Mint added: 'In advance of the London 2012 Olympics, the Royal Mint held a coin design competition to produce a series of 50 pence pieces on an Olympic sports theme. "The "competition, which was open to the general public, resulted in 29 pieces and introduced the youngest ever designer of United Kingdom coinage at just nine years old.' This isn't the first time a 50p coin has fetched far more than its original value. In a similar case, a Kew Gardens 50p – one of the rarest in circulation – sold for over £150 on eBay. Only 210,000 of these coins were minted back in 2009, making them a top target for collectors. Another Olympic 50p, this time featuring the wrestling design, went for £19 in a recent auction, nearly 40 times its face value. The Triathlon version has also proved popular, with examples regularly changing hands online for more than £15. Back in 2023, the Atlantic Salmon 50p created for the UK's Wildlife series was also spotted selling online for more than £12, despite being released only recently. With just 200,000 in circulation, it has quickly become one of the most desirable new coins. A Peter Rabbit 50p from the Beatrix Potter series sold for £11 after a flurry of bids. Its companion coin, Flopsy Bunny, also reached similar figures, both thanks to their relatively low mintage and nostalgic appeal. Some sellers have even managed to get lucky with error coins. One Royal Mint coin featuring a printing mistake – a misaligned image – was bought for £50, despite being a standard 50p coin in shape and size. These cases prove that it's worth checking your change. 5 5

And it marked another underwhelming dugout performance following spells at Derby, DC United and Birmingham. Rooney has since enjoyed spending time as a pundit, working on Amazon Prime while featuring on the Stick to Football podcast. He also captained and managed England at Soccer Aid earlier this month, scoring the fastest goal in the charity match's history before ex-United teammate Carlos Tevez banged in four to hand victory to a World XI. However, Rooney is now truly back in the beautiful game after landing a new job. But it is not another managerial stint for England's former captain. Instead, Rooney has linked up with a luxury training camp for children called Football Escapes. The company organises half-term retreats for kids and their parents in exotic locations like Cyprus, Portugal and the Maldives. Max Branning's EastEnders 'return storyline sealed' following Oscar's comeback
Since the news of Oscar Branning's return to EastEnders broke - fans are certain his dad Max won't be far behind as they think they've 'worked out' what will bring him back EastEnders fans were overjoyed with the news of another classic return yesterday, as it was confirmed Oscar Branning would be making his return to Walford. The news came following rumours that Oscar's dad Max Branning (Jake Wood) would also be making a return to EastEnders. Now, with the confirmation of Oscar's return, fans think they've worked out Max's return storyline, should the rumours be true. Oscar was last seen in the soap in 2017 when he made a brief visit to Max on Father's Day. The official announcement reads: "However, just why he is returning and where he's been is set to be revealed when Lauren receives a mysterious call. Newcomer Pierre Moullier will play Oscar, who is now 17, as he turns up and turns Lauren's life upside down." Max left Walford in 2021, months before the birth of his and Linda Carter's daughter Annie. As he left Walford before Linda discovered she was pregnant, she chose to keep Annie's paternity a secret, pretending she was Mick's. Max's brother Jack found out the truth, but decided to keep it a secret from him, as did Lauren. However, fans now think Oscar will be the one to deliver the truth to Max, predicting he'll return to see his biological daughter. Taking to Reddit after Oscar's return announcement, one fan penned: "What if when Lauren tells Oscar about Annie then Oscar is the one who tells Max by calling him, causing Max to come back?" suggested one fan, as another agreed: "That's exactly what I was thinking!" Another fan wrote: "Will he find out about Annie?" as another responded: "Most probably." Speaking about Oscar's return to the soap, new Executive Producer Ben Wadey said: 'I'm very excited to bring Oscar Branning back to Walford and introduce viewers to him now that he's all grown up. "Oscar is very much a Branning which means there's going to be plenty of drama in store this summer. We're delighted to welcome Pierre as he takes on the role and can't wait for viewers to see him bring Oscar to life.' Adding, actor Pierre said: 'It's pretty surreal to join EastEnders - it keeps hitting me that I'm actually on Albert Square! When I found out I was joining the Brannings, it was so exciting as they are such an iconic family, and I love that there are so many skeletons in the closet. "Oscar is so much fun to play, and the audience should be prepared for the unexpected as he's a complex guy!'
