Former All-Pro WR says Bills' Stevie Johnson had the best footwork he's ever seen

Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson may not have been a nationally-recognized household name, having played for underachieving Bills teams and receiving zero Pro Bowl selections, but those who watched him play on a regular basis knew just how good he was. On a recent episode of the Green Light podcast hosted by Chris Long, former NFL All-Pro wide receiver Chad Ochocinco gave Johnson a shout out, reminding people of the perhaps-forgotten playmaker of the early 2010s. "The greatest footwork," Ochocinco said. "I've never seen anything like Stevie Johnson... still to this day. He does AND1 [basketball] moves on the field and it works every time." That's quite the praise from Ochocinco, who was a three-time First-Team All-Pro receiver during his time with the Cincinnati Bengals, and even led the NFL in receiving yards in 2006. Although Stevie didn't accumulate the accolades like Ochocinco, he did put up impressive numbers in an otherwise underwhelming era of Bills football. In 2011, he became the first Bills player in history to record back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, and the following year he became the first player in the team's history to do it in three straight seasons. He became one of the best steals in Bills draft history after being selected in the seventh round in 2008 out of Kentucky. In team history, he ranks in the top ten in all major receiving categories, including receptions (9th), receiving yards (10th), receiving touchdowns (8th), and receiving yards per game (9th). He accomplished all that despite playing only three full 16-game seasons. Not only did he put up numbers in his prime, but he made it look good, too. Time and time again he displayed masterful route-running technique, specifically in his release package. Like Ochocinco said, it was like he was playing basketball on the gridiron. Planting the outside foot in the turf and cutting the face of his defender was reminiscent of an Allen Iverson crossover on the hardwood. He proved his capabilities countless times over his impressive three-year stretch (2010-2012), but never more so than when he went up against Hall of Fame cornerback Darrell Revis while facing the New York Jets. Revis is one of the best corners to ever do it, and Johnson was one of the few that was able to still do his thing when lined up against him. The old Revis-Johnson rivalry was recently brought up on X, as their incredible matchups are still being talked about nearly 15 years later. With the numbers Johnson put up, the effective route-running that he put on film, and the fact that he could go toe-to-toe with the era's best corner, it's no wonder Ochocinco hasn't forgotten about him. Watch the full clip of what Ochocinco had to say below:

Saquon Barkley's viral moment draws a rare Barry Sanders response

Barry Sanders addresses Saquon Barkley's viral comments about early retirement. There may be no better compliment that can be given to a professional athlete than knowing one's idols are also fans of theirs. Imagine suiting up for a Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday and dominating. Imagine seeing a guy whose poster you once owned offering congratulations. Saquon Barkley is a student of the game, one who appreciates its history. At some point, he studied the legends like Walter Payton and Jim Brown. Last season, while in pursuit of Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record, he learned the Hall-of-Famer was a fan (even if he didn't want to see his record broken). Just this week, he learned of another, Barry Sanders. Barry Sanders offers Saquon Barkley some advice on post-retirement theory It wasn't necessarily the shot heard 'round the world or an internet breaker, but it was close. Saquon Barkley recently appeared on an episode of Green Light with Chris Long. Thoughts about early retirement were mentioned. As you can imagine, that caused quite a stir. Eventually, he'd speak with the media and did his best to ease the minds of a concerned Eagles fan base. Long story short, despite stating his eventual announcement might come as a "surprise", it appears he has no intention of calling it a career soon. An entire fan base wiped the sweat from its brow. Whew! That was close, but they've been watching his every move just in case. Enter Barry Sanders. Like Barkley, he sat for an interview of his own. As you might imagine, while speaking with CBS Sports' John Breech, the Barkley comments were revisited, and the 2004 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee offered some advice for the most recent entrant into the NFL's 2000-yard club. "(Saquon Barkley) should stick around for a little while. As a fan, I'm enjoying watching him play. I still see him as still being very young. I'm excited with what he's been able to do in Philadelphia, and really, just his journey. He was written off by the Giants, and to see the kind of year he had last year, I know he still has a lot of great years left in him." Raise those hands if you're hoping that Saquon is reading the same stuff we are. Barkley had previously mentioned Sanders' decision to retire unexpectedly while speaking with Chris Long. "Sometimes, players feel that (way), and once they get into camp and into the season, they feel different. Philadelphia feels like a great place, a great home for him, so hopefully it's just sort of a temporary thing that he's experiencing, that he'll continue to enjoy the success there with that great team that they've assembled." Barkley signed a three-year, $37.75 million deal with Philadelphia on March 13, 2024. He inked a two-year $41.2 million extension this past March, so if the math is correct (and he's interested), we're guaranteed four more years of this marriage. Frankly, no one wants to see this arrangement end anytime soon. This is too much fun. Listen to the G.O.A.T. Saquon! There's no reason to walk away from this prematurely.

NFL Legend Sends Message to Eagles' Saquon Barkley

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Coming off a career year with the Philadelphia Eagles, Saquon Barkley shocked the football world with comments about his future. Following his viral remarks, one NFL legend sent a message to the star running back. While making an appearance on Chris Long's "Green Light" podcast, Barkley gave his thoughts on his runway in the NFL. He hinted at having an abrupt retirement similar to his mentor and idol Barry Sanders. "I'll probably be one of those guys that it'll be out of nowhere. I'll probably just wake up one day, whether it's next year or two years or four years, and just be like, 'Yeah it's over,'" Barkley said. Seeing that he won a Super Bowl and nearly made history with the Eagles last season, these comments threw many people for a loop. After hearing what the reigning Offensive Player of the Year had to say, Sanders himself decided to chime in on the topic. The first two Netflix entertainment complexes will open at the end of the year

Looking to grab an official Tires shirt or a sandwich based on Arnold Schwarzenegger's FUBAR ? Netflix will have you covered in the near future. The streaming platform's long-promised Netflix House amusement centers will open up shop in Dallas and outside of Philadelphia by the end of the year , with a third location coming to Las Vegas in 2027. These 100,000-square feet behemoths will operate throughout the year and will celebrate all things Netflix. There's a retail component, a restaurant called Netflix Bites and all kinds of "immersive story-driven experiences" based on some of its biggest shows. The locations will also offer mini-golf, which maybe is a tribute to that one episode of Cobra Kai ? We aren't sure about that one. As for the aforementioned story-driven experiences, the locations will include stuff like the iconic 'Red Light, Green Light' race from Squid Game and a Demogorgan chase inspired by Stranger Things . Netflix says each location will "regularly update its offerings" so these experiences should vary. The platform promises experiences based on hits like Wednesday , One Piec e and the Knives Out movie franchise. Sadly, there was no mention of Is it Cake? or the social media-adjacent reality show The Circle . I want to sit in a weirdly-decorated room and talk to strangers on the internet! Wait a minute. I already do that. The Philadelphia location is being built at King of Prussia Mall and the Dallas branch will exist at Galleria Dallas. The third location pops up in the Las Vegas Strip at BLVD Las Vegas in 2027. Netflix-heads can sign up for an early visit right here . If you buy something through a link in this article, we may earn commission.

'Squid Game' season 3 final trailer hints at the darkest season yet — here's 3 major things I noticed

I have to admit, watching the final 'Squid Game' season 3 trailer hit me harder than I expected. After all the twists, heartbreak, and chaos over the past two seasons, I thought I was mentally prepared for whatever this show could throw at us. Spoiler alert: I wasn't. The trailer doesn't just tease new games or violence but it also dives deep into the emotional fallout that's been simmering beneath the surface, especially for Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who looks completely unravelled. If you've been following 'Squid Game' from the start, you know it's never just about the competition. This final teaser ratchets all the tension up to eleven, showing us a Gi-hun who's no longer just a survivor, but a man haunted by his past and consumed by anger. We'll get to see how this all plays out on Netflix starting June 27, 2025. In this trailer, we get glimpses of mysterious new game styles including a maze-like challenge, ominous rope-jumping (with that eerie doll again), and team splits by color gumballs. The emotional stakes in the trailer are raised even higher by a heartfelt monologue from Geum‑ja (Player 149), who asks, 'Are you blaming yourself…?' This simple question reflects the heavy burden of guilt and regret that many players carry, making this moment one of the most powerful and humanizing glimpses we've seen so far in 'Squid Game' season 3. Most strikingly, Netflix included a brief montage of the previous seasons, which instantly makes this final chapter feel much more bittersweet. After watching the trailer a few times, I picked up on three key details that really stood out. In the trailer, the VIPs make only a brief appearance, shown seated around a luxurious dinner table being served elaborate dishes. The scene is strikingly understated since there's no dramatic spotlight or extended focus on them, which feels intentionally mysterious. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. This subtle reintroduction does, however, feel deliberate, as if the showrunners are building suspense around their role rather than spelling it out. I wouldn't be surprised if they were orchestrating something far more sinister than previous seasons — possibly expanding the games on a global scale or becoming more hands-on in controlling the chaos. Unlike their previous role as distant spectators indulging in grotesque entertainment, the VIPs' return might mean they are now active players in the unfolding nightmare. Gi-hun and his friends will have to pull off something incredible to stop these powerful figures and end the games for good. First teased in the post-credits scene of season 2, Chul-su is believed to be a male counterpart to Young-hee — the creepy animatronic girl who presided over the unforgettable Red Light, Green Light game. Though we never get another look at Chul-su in the trailer, there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment that strongly hints at his role in a new game: an ominous jump rope setup that looks anything but innocent. Early fan theories speculated that Chul-su and Young-hee might be part of a deadly 'train' game based on the Trolley Problem (which would have the two dolls pretending to be the trains, while the players are forced to lie in their paths). But from what we see now, it turns out the challenge is likely a warped take on jump rope instead. Still, the presence of both dolls suggests it could involve more than just physical coordination. One of the most immediate (but obvious) takeaways from the final trailer is just how different Gi-hun looks. Gone is the dazed survivor barely holding it together because what we see now is someone visibly fractured, yet burning with purpose. But it's that exact determination that has fans like me worried. Some viewers are speculating on Reddit that he might sacrifice himself to save Jun-hee's (Jo Yu-ri) baby, or rather, save all of his friends in a final heroic act. While it seems totally plausible (and realistic) that he would die doing something good, I'm not sure whether the showrunners would actually go through with it considering he's such a beloved character. However, with his vow to 'put an end to it,' the implication is clear: Gi-hun may be ready to give everything, including his life, if it means stopping the cycle of death once and for all. Whether or not that happens, the emotional groundwork is being laid, and it hurts already.
