SAN JOSE, Calif. - A motorcyclist was fatally injured in a traffic collision in San Jose on Thursday morning.
The San Jose Police Department was called just after 6:45 a.m. to the area of Senter Road and Sylvandale Avenue on reports of the crash and found a silver Harley Davidson motorcycle and its rider down at the scene.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of his next of kin, and the SJPD identified him only as an adult man.
A preliminary investigation into the crash revealed that a Chevrolet Camaro was driving east on Buckeye Drive through Senter Road into the designated right turn lane to Sylvandale Avenue when the Camaro was struck on its broadside by the motorcycle, which was traveling north on Senter Road.
The driver of the Camaro remained at the scene and cooperated with an investigation into the crash.
The crash marks San Jose's 10th fatal traffic collision and 10th traffic death of 2025, according to the SJPD.

SJPD investigating Saturday evening stabbing
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) — St. Joseph police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Saturday afternoon near Woods Mini Mart. According to Sgt. Casey Guyer with the St. Joseph Police Department, officers were dispatched around 3:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a man walking near Subway with visible neck injuries that appeared to be stab wounds. Responding officers located the man across the street at Woods Mini Mart. He appeared to have sustained two stab wounds, one being in the armpit, and was transported by ambulance to the emergency room. Police say the investigation is ongoing. The victim is currently in stable condition at Mosaic Life Care, according to SJPD. News-Press NOW will provide updates as more information becomes available.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) — The St. Joseph Police Department is urging residents to stay vigilant against crime during the summer months. Although no recent cases have been reported, SJPD wants to remind the community that criminals are often more active during warmer weather. Something as simple as an unlocked garage can make you a target for burglary. Oversharing on social media can also increase your risk. Authorities advise posting cautiously, especially while traveling. If you're going to be away for a while, posting vacation pictures on Facebook can be tempting because you want to share with your friends and family," said Sgt. Jeremy Peters with the St. Joseph Police Department. "But there are people who look for that, and if they know you're not going to be at your address, business, or home for a while, they may try to take advantage of that opportunity." Police recommend waiting until you return home to share vacation photos, asking a trusted neighbor to watch your property and installing security cameras as effective deterrents. If neighbors notice any suspicious or unfamiliar activity in their area, they are encouraged to call 911 immediately so an officer can investigate. The St. Joseph Police Department also offers a free residential and business watch service, which allows officers to periodically check on your property while you're away. "The officers working on the street, day or night, are made aware of those addresses and provide extra patrol during their shifts, Peters said. Residents can fill out the watch request form by visiting and navigating to 'Forms and Requests'.

The aforementioned homemaker was Barbra King Ladd, who had become incredibly fascinated with the story of some skeletal remains found nearly 37 years ago off Interstate 24 in Tennessee. Unfortunately, nobody could identify the body for decades, and the incident was deemed a cold case after years of unfruitful investigative work. However, with modern-day internet technology, nearly everything is recorded and accessible to the general public if they are willing to do some digging. Utilizing this, Ladd cross-referenced missing person reports to other events and pieces of evidence associated with the body, with one deviation from how the police did things. Instead of keeping the search in Tennessee, Ladd would rationalize combining records from other states by saying, "I thought it would be worth the effort to cross state lines to dump a body. So I honed in on Georgia because it was close to Marion County." Eventually, this led her to one Donald Boardman, who went missing in 1985 after Purchasing a Chevrolet Camaro. Just two weeks after his disappearance, two men and a woman were found in his vehicle though the police couldn't extract much information from them about the car's owner. It would appear that this case is close to being solved, with the generally accepted Theory being that Boardman's death was the effect of a robbery gone wrong. Finally, the family of the long-missing car lover can have some peace and closure, but there is still work to be done in determining the cause of death and what actually happened outside of speculation.
