NDA parties celebrate Good Governance anniversary
Ongole: The Telugu Desam Party, Jana Sena Party and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and workers actively participated in the celebration of the one year anniversary of the good governance in the state, marking completion of one year of assuming power by the NDA, while the YSR Congress Party observe Backstabbing Day alleging that the alliance government failed to fulfil the promises made to the public, even after completing one year in power, at all assembly constituencies in the district.
Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, Jana Sena district president and Livestock Development Agency chairman Shaik Reyaz, Mayor Gangada Sujatha, PDCC Bank chairman Dr K Sitaramaiah, Janasena leader Kandi Ravi Sankar, and other TDP, JSP, and BJP leaders joined together at the NTR Statue at Addanki Bus Stand Centre in Ongole on Wednesday, and cut a cake as part of the celebration of the 'Good Governance' anniversary.
They said that the NDA government under the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is providing welfare-based rule, and is addressing the public issues, while struggling to create revenue, bearing with thousands of crores of rupees' loan burden bestowed by the earlier YSRCP government.
They assured that the Chandrababu Naidu government is known for the welfare and development of all sections in society, and announced that the Ammaku Vandanam, Annadatha, and the free travel for women in RTC buses would be launched very soon.
Meanwhile, the YSRCP Prakasam district leaders organised rallies and submitted representations to the local tahsildars and RDOs at their respective headquarters of assembly constituencies.
In Ongole, YSRCP in-charge Chuduri Ravi Babu and other leaders participated in a rally from the Ambedkar Bhavan to the RDO office and submitted a representation of demands to the officer. At Darsi, the local MLA and the district president, Dr Buchepalli Siva Prasad Reddy, ZP Chairperson Buchepalli Venkayamma, while at Yerragondapalem, the local MLA T Chandrasekhar and others conducted a rally and submitted the representation of demands.

YSRCP launches ‘yuvatha poru'
Visakhapatnam: Flagging failures of the coalition government, YSRCP launches 'yuvatha poru' protests and submits representations at all Collectorates on June 23, informed former IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath. Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Gudivada Amarnath said the coalition government is resorting to diversion politics as it failed to implement poll promises, especially creation of jobs and provision of Rs 3,000 allowance to the unemployed youth after it came to power. The youth wing of the party will hold protests at all District Collector offices, Amarnath mentioned. 'People are not prepared to trust Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as he is resorting to diversion politics to avoid fulfilling promises made like his earlier tenures,' Amarnath criticised, adding the Thalliki Vandanam scheme has been diluted. Talking about International Yoga Day celebrations, Amarnath pointed out that the government spent Rs.300 crore on IYD for publicity, causing great inconvenience to students, women and public. 'Tribal students were mobilised to the venue the previous day without proper care and they faced serious hardship,' Amarnath lamented. The event was conducted with an aim of entering the Guinness Book of Records, while Naidu already holds a record for cheating people across four terms as Chief Minister, Amarnath alleged. While Naidu mobilises funds for Amaravati, Amarnath said, North Andhra remains completely neglected but used for the CM's publicity stunts. 'It was only during YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's tenure North Andhra witnessed real development,' he reiterated, appealing to people to make the 'yuvatha poru' a success.

New committee formed to review functioning of Sainik Schools
Barely eight months after major reforms were introduced in October 2024, the Maharashtra school education department has set up a new, seven-member committee to review the functioning of the state's Sainik Schools and revisit the revised policy. Last month, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had directed the formation of a state-level committee to initiate further educational reforms in military schools. The move follows rising concerns over the low percentage of students from the state's 38 Sainik Schools qualifying for the National Defence Academy (NDA), the prestigious defence training institute located in Khadakwasla near Pune. Deputy secretary of the school education and sports department of Maharashtra, Sameer Sawant, said that a decision to allow one Sainik School providing military education in each district had been taken through a government resolution (GR) on September 26, 1995. Under this policy, 38 such schools are currently operating in the state. However, these schools have not been able to maintain required standards. Sawant said, 'The new committee's scope of work has been defined as visiting the Sainik Schools, understanding the current situation, suggesting necessary amendments to the revised policy, and recommending measures to increase representation from the state's Sainik Schools.' Last month, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had directed the formation of a state-level committee to initiate further educational reforms in military schools. 'The Sainik School policy was launched to ensure that more students from Maharashtra participate in the NDA selection process, and to instil discipline, confidence, teamwork, and leadership among them. However, there have been persistent demands for the schools to improve,' Fadnavis had said while chairing a meeting on reforms in military schools. School education minister Dadaji Bhuse, too, assured that the government is committed to providing quality education in these institutions (Sainik Schools). 'The committee must physically inspect the schools, examine the challenges they face, and their demands in detail, and submit a comprehensive report within the stipulated timeframe,' Bhuse said. Inspections conducted after a policy revision on October 9, 2024 found that several Sainik Schools are failing to meet essential standards. Many students are not receiving adequate military training and guidance—factors critical for NDA preparation.
