‘We Were Liars' Season 2: Everything We Know And Where The Story Could Go Next
Season 1 of We Were Liars, based on the E. Lockhart novel of the same name, just wrapped. The YA bestseller was adapted for screen by showrunners Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie into eight episodes, and the season finale seemed to be setting up more intrigue ahead. So, will there be a season 2? Here's what we know so far. Not yet. The second season just finished airing, and it may take a while for Prime Video to decide to renew. Plec and MacKenzie told The Wrap that they've had 'endless conversations' with the streamer on the topic. 'They are very supportive and just waiting on whatever data it is these algorithmic creators need to have before they write big check, so we're looking forward to the data working in our favor,' Plec said. 'We are, as usual, at the mercy of the robots,' MacKenzie added. While talking to Variety, MacKenzie said, 'The great thing about this show is that the first season has a satisfying, powerful ending. So I want people who generally don't tune in to the first season because they're afraid it's going to get canceled, to know that they're safe to watch this show, and if it doesn't get a second season, you've still got a whole story. But also, Emily wrote three books and we love this world. We love our cast. We'd love the opportunity that exists for more story, so we're hopeful that we'll get to come back and do more. But also, should this be a limited series, I think it's a beautiful story.' The show follows the teen members of the wealthy and elite Sinclair family, Cadence, Johnny, Mirren, and their friend Gat, across two summers. The first summer involves traumatic loss and the second summer sees Cadence dealing with the loss of her siblings and their ghosts' struggles to move on to the other side. Johnny ends the season still earthbound and seemingly tied to his mother, Carrie. That means a second season could center around their relationship and the older Sinclairs. In an interview with The Wrap, Julie Plec shared, 'The best gift that Emily Lockhart gave us as we were sitting down to write We Were Liars was she published Family of Liars, which was a prequel about the Sinclair sisters when they were teenagers. The book opens with Carrie telling the story of a very dark time and a very bad summer to her dead son.' 'We just wanted the audience to know that there's still more story to tell, and we're really looking forward to the opportunity to be able to do it,' she added. It's unclear if the released spirits would return, but season 1 starred Emily Alyn Lind, Esther McGregor, Joseph Zada, Shubham Maheshwari, and Mamie Gummer. This post will be updated. Bill Skarsgård's ‘Nosferatu' Gets Prime Video Streaming Date
"Nosferatu" partial poster featuring Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgård. Nosferatu — the 2024 horror hit starring Bill Skarsgård, Lily-Rose Depp and Nicholas Hoult — is coming soon to Prime Video. Directed by Robert Eggers, Nosferatu opened on Dec. 25, 2024. The official logline for the movie reads, 'A gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.' Skarsgård stars as the vampire Count Orlok in Nosferatu, while Depp plays Ellen Hutter, whom the vampire has been haunting in her dreams. Hoult plays Ellen's husband, Thomas Hutter, a real estate agent who is trying to thwart Orlok from preying on his wife. The film also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Simon McBurney, Ralph Ineson and Willem Dafoe. Prime Video has announced that Nosferatu will join its streaming video on demand lineup on Friday, June 27. Viewers who don't have Prime Video can get the streaming service as one of the benefits of being an Amazon Prime subscriber for $14.99 or $139 per year. Prime Video-only subscriptions are also available for $8.99 per month. According to streaming tracker When to Stream, only the theatrical version of Nosferatu will be available on Prime Video when the film makes its SVOD debut on the platform on Friday. The extended cut of Nosferatu, which includes four minutes of additional footage is only available on the Peacock streaming service. Robert Eggers Contacted Bill Skarsgård About 'Nosferatu' After Seeing Him In 'IT: Chapter Two' Nosferatu director Robert Eggers said it was because of another horror role — Pennywise the Clown— that led him to pursue Bill Skarsgård to play Count Orlok. However, it wasn't Skarsgård's portrayal as the clown that inspired Eggers. 'It was [Bill's role] as Pennywise, but in IT: Chapter Two, when he played Pennywise as a middle-aged human man instead of a clown,' Eggers said in a Zoom conversation prior to the film's theatrical release. 'It just had a kind of darkness and depth that I really believed. 'So, that's when I emailed or texted Bill and said, 'Let's talk about Orlok.' I really wanted to work with Bill since I met him almost 10 years ago,' the filmmaker added. 'I cast him in The Northman in a supporting role but because of COVID, it didn't happen. He was always on my mind.' Nosferatu received awards season recognition for films released in 2024, largely in the technical categories. The film earned nominations for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design and Best Production Design for the 97th Academy Awards; and received nominations in the same four categories and a Best Original Score nomination from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards. Nosferatu begins streaming on Prime Video on Friday.

Megan Thee Stallion Looks Good On Love Island USA
Source: Kristy Sparow / Getty Megan Thee Stallion took her turn on Love Island USA with a surprise cameo fans can't get enpugh of. The official Hot Girl Coach traveled to Fiji with the show, bringing the heat, the hype, and – of course – the bikinis. Fans gagged when Megan strutted into the villa on episode 15. She slayed in her Hot Girl Summer swim line, showing that she looks TF good and stays in her bag. Making her swim line island-certified , contestants on the show also rocked her collection. Spoiler Alert: The ladies looked fab. When the Houston native popped up on screen, it was a moment. Megan was there to serve the girls, judge a dance challenge, and show off her glow. She shouted out the girls, had a little fun (of course), and showed TV cameras why she continues to be that girl. 'I'm finna shake the table,' Megan joked on Instagram about the show. 'Love Island is not ready for this type of bombshell.' Dressed in a curve-hugging, ultra-glam look from her line, Megan was giving bawdy-ody-ody. The gold swimsuit – fitted, fierce, and fashion-forward – served up everything we love about Meg: confident, sexy, and designed with real curves in mind. We were just as excited about the swimwear moment as the show's new drama. Megan Thee Stallion's Love Island crossover wasn't just a guest spot. It was a brand power move – and we are here for it. Love Island airs on Peacock and Bravo . SEE ALSO Megan Thee Stallion Looks Good On Love Island USA was originally published on Black America Web Featured Video CLOSE
