The Buffalo Bills were so high on wide receiver Keon Coleman in last year's draft that they allowed one of their biggest rivals to nab a top player to get him.

Buffalo will always be tied to allowing Kansas City to trade up for Texas receiver Xavier Worthy. From now on, both Worthy and Coleman will be tied together to determine which team made the better pick in last year's draft.
After the 2024 season, Worthy appeared to be the better player.
That could be changing in 2025.
Bleacher Report writer Kristopher Knox thinks the Bills need to get Coleman more involved in the offense in the 2025 season, allowing the second-year receiver to break out.
"Head coach Sean McDermott and offensive coordinator Joe Brady, meanwhile, need to set up a plan for second-year receiver Keon Coleman," Knox wrote. "The 2024 second-round pick was expected to become Josh Allen's new go-to wideout, but his rookie numbers (556 yards, 4 TDs) left plenty to be desired.

"It's imperative that the Bills figure out how to highlight Coleman's strengths and create a rapport between him and Allen."
Buffalo has a quality receiver in Khalil Shakir, who has earned Allen's trust. The problem is that Coleman is a high draft pick. If the Bills can't get quality production out of him, it will be seen as a poor allocation of resources.
It's why a prediction of more is sound … and it's why the Bills are expecting big things from Coleman this season. … maybe big enough to counter the positive things Worthy is doing with the Chiefs..

Josh Jacobs Named to NFL's ‘Bad Luck' List Due to Team Penalties

Josh Jacobs Named to NFL's 'Bad Luck' List Due to Team Penalties originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Green Bay Packers saw great things with Josh Jacobs in just one season and are hoping for more in the upcoming campaign. Advertisement Jacobs became an integral part of the team's offense, playing all 17 games and helping Green Bay reach the postseason. The former Las Vegas Raiders back tallied an impressive 1,329 rushing yards on 301 attempts, achieving the second-best yards total in his career. He also scored 15 rushing touchdowns, the most he's ever had in six seasons, showing he is a valuable component on the field for quarterback Jordan Love to hand off to or throw to. Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (8).Eric Hartline-Imagn Images However, he could have had even better stats last season if his team hadn't cost him so much during games. An NFL report arrived on Friday the 13th, which some believe is an unlucky day on the calendar. Based on the NFL's data, Jacobs led the league in a "bad luck" stat last season. Advertisement The star running back had the most rushing yards negated by penalties, 94, although that isn't necessarily Jacobs' fault, as Packers teammates were also responsible. He also had three touchdowns taken away due to penalties, tied for the most in the NFL. It's also worth noting that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Johnson was right behind Jacobs with 87 rushing yards negated by penalties. Despite the unfortunate stat hindrance, Jacobs still had a healthy and significant season in his Packers debut, finishing fifth amongst running backs for total rushing yards last season. Let's not forget, he also caught 36 passes for 342 receiving yards and a touchdown. His skills after a catch were on full display in a highlight against the Dolphins on Sunday Night Football. The good news is there's a new season ahead, with the Packers ready to push beyond than the Wild Card Playoffs. Advertisement In his seventh NFL season, a talented and powerful back like Jacobs could perform better than he did in 2024. However, his teammates should really cut down on those penalties to help him progress in Green Bay. WNBA files trademarks for the name ‘Portland Fire' and stylized ‘P' logo

The WNBA filed trademarks for the name 'Portland Fire' and a stylized 'P' logo earlier this week, potentially indicating that the league's 15th franchise will revive the Fire name from the team that existed from 2000-02. The league's expansion to Portland was announced in September 2024, and the team will begin play in 2026 alongside the Toronto Tempo. The organization has teased an announcement for next month — a statement from a spokesperson for WNBA Portland reads, 'The countdown is on. We'll see you July 15!' The countdown is on ⏰ — WNBA Portland (@wnbaportland) June 20, 2025 If it does choose the name Fire, the new Portland team is hoping it doesn't carry the prior team's track record. The Fire had three unremarkable seasons during the WNBA's first decade, cracking .500 in their final year in the league and never qualifying for the playoffs. The franchise folded due to financial losses, one of six teams to fold by 2009. Advertisement The expansion Portland team hired Inky Son, formerly the chief administrative officer of the National Basketball Players Association, as its team president earlier this year and the organization's first employee. The organization also broke ground on its practice facility in April, a space that will be shared with the NWSL's Portland Thorns, who are also under the same ownership of RAJ Sports. However, while Toronto has hired a general manager and assistant GM among other employees, in addition to revealing its team branding, Portland has yet to build out its basketball operations staff. Both franchises will also have to hire head coaches before the expansion draft following the 2025 WNBA season. The league is still in the process of expansion and accepted bids for its 16th franchise through January. More than 10 groups submitted formal bids, but the WNBA has not yet announced a winner.

Yankees activate Luke Weaver after the right-hander missed two weeks with a strained left hamstring

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Yankees activated right-handed reliever Luke Weaver from the injured list Friday after he missed two weeks with a strained left hamstring. Weaver was injured warming up before a June 1 game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. After being placed on the injured list, the Yankees thought Weaver might be out until early July or through the All-Star break. Instead, Weaver began feeling better quickly and said the pain disappeared shortly after the injury. He took his final steps in his rehab by throwing a simulated game on Tuesday after throwing side sessions. Weaver has a 1.05 ERA with eight saves in nine opportunities in 24 appearances. He ascended into the closer's role by converting six saves in seven chances after Devin Williams posted an 11.25 ERA in his first 10 appearances and was removed from that spot on April 27. A 31-year-old right-hander who can become a free agent this autumn, Weaver supplanted Clay Holmes as closer last September. From May 20-22, Weaver became the first Yankees pitcher to appear on three consecutive regular-season days since Aroldis Chapman in September 2021, though Weaver's first outing in that stretch lasted just two pitches, and the three totaled 18. Williams converted all four save chances while Weaver was injured and has a 1.76 ERA in his last 16 appearances since May 5. The Yankees cleared room for Weaver by optioning Jayvien Sandridge to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes/Barre. Sandridge was called up Thursday when Yerry De los Santos went on the injured list with right elbow discomfort. ___ AP MLB:
