Samsung just tipped to show off Project Moohan headset during Galaxy Unpacked in July
In a few short weeks, Samsung's annual summer Galaxy Unpacked event, where we expect to see the latest foldables in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. We should additionally see the new Galaxy Watch 8 smartwatches.
According to a new rumor, we might also get another glimpse of Project Moohan, the company's forthcoming Android XR headset. Tipster PandaFlashPro posted on X that Samsung would have Project Moohan at "July Unpacked 2025."
Almost immediately, another regular leaker, Max Jambor, rejected that report.
Today (June 13), they returned to confirm the earlier report.
"My source just confirmed it, Samsung is going to show it off at their Unpacked event!" PandaFlash posted. "They won't be revealing all the details, and later this year available in South Korea, than slowly other countries."
They added that Samsung will have a dedicated Unpacked event, but no date for that one.
Samsung has been fairly light on specs for the headset despite showing it off several times between the January Unpacked reveal, MWC 2025 and Google I/O in May.

We got an in-person glimpse of the headset in a Qualcomm booth during AWE 2025 this week. However, beyond Qualcomm's new AR+1 Gen 1 chip, which is slated for the best smart glasses, it could also feature in headsets in conjunction with the XR2+ processor. Otherwise, no new details were shared specifically about Moohan.
Coinciding with PandaFlash's rumor, during an earnings call earlier this year, Samsung confirmed that XR devices would be released in the second half of 2025.
Beyond that, of course, it will be powered by Android XR, and a recent leaked benchmark revealed that it will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2 processor, which is built specifically for XR devices. It could have up to 16 GB of RAM.
For panels, Moohan might utilize a pair of Sony 1.3-inch 4K OLED on Silicon panels. These screens could offer a pixel density of 3,800 ppi, or more than the 3,391 ppi Sony displays in the Apple Vision Pro.
We're still waiting on pricing and more in-depth specs for the headset. Hopefully, Samsung will finally share a bit more in July.

Thin phones can come across as gimmicky (who asked for them, really?), but they're undoubtedly having a moment as companies look for new ways to lure your dollars. After using devices like the Galaxy S25 Edge and Oppo Find N5, I can attest that holding a slim, lightweight phone is quite refreshing, and I'm eager to see what Apple has in store. But there's also a major downside to building a phone with such a slim profile, as I experienced recently with the S25 Edge: Battery life takes a hit. A thinner phone also means a smaller battery, which means shorter battery life. The S25 Edge, for instance, definitely needs a recharge at the end of the day -- no excess battery there. If Apple can find a way to make the iPhone 17 Air last beyond that bare minimum amount, that could really help its slim offering stand out. Adaptive Power may be the superpower Apple needs to appeal to anyone who won't sacrifice battery life for a thinner phone. But whether this feature truly is a breakthrough is up in the air -- along with the reality of the iPhone 17 Air itself. Samsung's entry-level Galaxy Watch 7 has returned to its best price to date
I jumped on the smartwatch bandwagon a bit late, but now I can't go a day without mine. Beyond delivering helpful notifications, it's perfect for setting timers, tracking workouts, and monitoring my sleeping habits (which are terrible). If you haven't yet joined the smartwatch party or you're looking to upgrade, Samsung's Galaxy Watch 7 is down to $199.99 ($100 off) in the 40mm / Bluetooth configuration at Amazon and Walmart. If you prefer a larger display, the 44mm model is on sale at Amazon starting at $229.99 ($100 off). The Galaxy Watch 7 adds a faster processor and a new 3-in-1 BioActive sensor. It's an iterative update, but it's more comfortable for sleep tracking than the Galaxy Watch Ultra. While the Galaxy Watch 7 isn't as flashy as other Samsung wearables, its more simplistic approach is part of its charm. It retains the signature circular design and slim profile of prior models, which remains a stark contrast to the adventure-ready Galaxy Watch Ultra. It's comfortable to wear while sleeping and working out — as our own Victoria Song noted in her review last year — and it comes with a selection of welcome features, including heart rate tracking, an Energy Score for gauging recovery, and FDA-approved sleep apnea detection. One of the new marquee tools of the Watch 7 is its AI-powered wellness insights, which provide personalized suggestions to help you hit your health and fitness goals. There's also a 3-in-1 BioActive Sensor that can measure metabolic health thanks to an experimental advanced glycation end products (AGEs) metric, though both features were rather hit or miss in our testing. Of course, the wearable also offers a range of basic smartwatch features, such as the ability to stream music, send texts, and take calls when your phone is nearby. Despite its slimmer design, the Watch 7 offers around 24 hours of battery life with the always-on display enabled, though if you upgrade to the 44mm Watch 7, you can eke out a few additional hours. Samsung's wearable also runs Wear OS 5, as of now, though we're expecting the Gemini-powered Wear OS 6 to arrive via an update later this year. All that being said, the timing of these deals could indicate that a Galaxy Watch 8 is on the horizon. Samsung typically holds an Unpacked event in mid-July, and this year it may introduce a refreshed lineup of foldable and wearable devices. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 looks stunningly slim in new leaked photo vs. Fold 6
We're likely to see the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 at next month's Samsung's Summer Unpacked event, and there's not much that hasn't already been leaked. But now we've got our first glimpse of Samsung's next-gen foldable alongside its predecessor to see how its rumored upgrades stack up — and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 looks like a brick by comparison. This week, Korean YouTube channel TheSINZA shared a hands-on video comparing a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 dummy unit alongside last year's Z Fold 6 as well as the Z Fold SE, which was released exclusively in China and Korea. With competitors like the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Motorola Razr 2024, the race is heating up for the best foldable phone crown. And it's clear Samsung has taken notice. The video confirms what these week's leaked Galaxy Z Fold 7 renders hinted at already: That Samsung's fixing two of the foldable's biggest problems with this upcoming generation. First up, its profile. In the video, the Z Fold 7 is noticeably slimmer and has a larger screen than the Z Fold 6. It measures at just 4.5mm thick when unfolded, compared to its predecessor's 5.6mm. For perspective, the Galaxy S25 Edge clocks in at 5.8mm, and its thin profile is its biggest selling point that distinguishes it from Samsung's flagships like the Galaxy S25. When folded, the Fold 7 measures at 9 mm, compared to the 12.1 mm of the Fold 6. But beyond the slimmer chassis, what catches your eye the most is the jump in screen size, with the Z Fold 7 upgrading to an 8.2-inch main display, up from the Z Fold 6's 7.6-inch display. The bigger display makes the Z Fold 7 look closer to something like the premium Galaxy S25 Ultra than its predecessor. The dummy unit also confirms that Samsung plans to ditch the Z Fold 6's under-display camera, which has been standard since the Galaxy Z Fold 3, for a punch-hole camera on the Z Fold 7's inner display. As impressive a technological feat tucking a camera under the display is, it often comes at the cost of image quality, as the camera has to capture photos through layers of the screen. Switching back to a punch-hole camera in the main display shouldn't affect usability, but it could significantly improve the camera's practicality for selfies and video calls.
