What to expect at the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked
The next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event could be announced any day now. The summertime event usually happens in July or August. No date has been officially set, but at least one rumor suggests that it will all go down on July 9 at 10AM ET, and New York City is being floated as the likely location. Whenever it happens, we expect that the next Unpacked will center on the latest developments to Samsung's lines of foldables and wearables. A lot of it may be business as usual, but the company has hinted that some possibly exciting new additions are in the works. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Sam Rutherford for Engadget) Based on the usual annual cadence, this summer Unpacked 2025 will most likely introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. One recent leak claimed that Gemini Live will be a core part of the foldables' presentation, and considering AI is the buzzword for every tech presentation these days, it would be strange if Unpacked didn't follow suit. AI features got a positive reception from both our Fold 6 and Flip 6 reviewers, although they fell more under the umbrella of parlor tricks than valuable assets. Android Headlines is back with renders of what it claims show the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The foldable sports a slimmer profile than the prior model and the navy blue chassis is certainly pretty. It also indicates that both the cover display and inner display are reportedly bigger in this design, up to 6.5 inches and 8.2 inches, respectively. The publication also showed purported images of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 that also pointed to increased screen real estate. There may be a third player in the foldables lineup for this Unpacked. A teaser from Samsung last month pointed toward a Galaxy Z Fold Ultra that will come with Galaxy AI. There are no specs in the blog post, but the company insists that this will have "industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance and seamless AI integration optimized for the foldable format." This doesn't appear to be the tri-fold design we've heard rumblings about, but that would be a fun reveal if Samsung does pull that off as a surprise announcement. Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 (Amy Skorheim for Engadget) On the wearables front, the only thing we're really anticipating is news about the Galaxy Watch 8. But the anticipation is pretty mild. This smartwatch collection from Samsung hasn't really pushed the envelope for several years; the Galaxy Watch 7 was the third iteration where our reviewers felt the new model offered only incremental improvements over the previous generation. So either this Unpacked will be yet another round of small gains on the specs or Samsung will surprise us with some substantial upgrades. Improved battery life would be a big plus. For the past few weeks, Samsung fans have been speculating that a new smartphone announcement could be on the way soon. Although the company's standard mobile hardware is usually unveiled at the start of the year, we've seen some credible rumors that a new Galaxy S25 FE is in the works. If Samsung is looking to release a new version to that line in the fall, it would make sense to announce and open pre-orders at the summer Unpacked. The Galaxy S24 FE had some solid specs but was a little pricey to be a true budget model, especially with an underwhelming set of AI features. So far, the leaks about the S25 FE also point toward continued underwhelm, with claims that its cameras won't be seeing much in the way of upgrades, although it may be getting a boost to performance and battery if rumors that it will use the Exynos 2400 processor turn out to be true. We'll be keeping you posted with all the Unpacked news as it happens, as well as covering the event with a liveblog, so stay tuned!

Galaxy Z Fold 7 reveal date now looks like a lock — here's when we'll see Samsung's newest foldables
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are coming, that much we know, but what hasn't been clear so far is when they would actually arrive. Samsung's Summer Unpacked event often moves around on the calendar. But Evan Blass might have some insight. According to the leaker, Galaxy Unpacked will be taking place on Wednesday, July 9 — which is just shy of three weeks out. Blass claims that the event will start at 10 a.m. Eastern but doesn't offer any additional information beyond that. That date makes perfect sense, considering last year's Unpacked was on July 10. It was a little earlier than normal, reportedly because Samsung was a major sponsor of the Paris Olympics and wanted to get the new phones unveiled before the games. Samsung clearly likes that launch window if it's sticking with it for another year. Though it does make sense to get out early, and ahead of both the iPhone 17 and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold — which are expected in September and August, respectively. The big appearances at Summer Unpacked are going to be the new wave of Samsung foldables. Notably the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the all-new Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra. The Ultra is still something of a mystery, since various rumors already paint the regular 7 Fold as having rather powerful specs, but Samsung has confirmed that it's on the way. The phone is also said to have a heavy AI focus, but that's not really surprising given how much Samsung has invested in Galaxy AI. There's also rumors of a Galaxy Z Flip FE coming later this year, though it's been claimed that this won't arrive until long after Unpacked. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. However, we should hear more about the Galaxy Watch 8, the upcoming One UI 8 update and the Project Moohan headset at the event. The latter of which is long overdue for some limelight, considering it's supposed to be going on sale before the end of the year. Mark your calendars: Samsung Galaxy Unpacked date leaks
Jonathan Feist / Android Authority TL;DR Last year Samsung introduced the Flip 6 and Fold 6 on July 10. For this year's launch, rumors have suggested Samsung could repeat that July 10 date. Now Evan Blass instead points to July 9 for the next Unpacked. Depending on how you count it, summer is either already upon us, or just about to start in the next few days (or you live in the Southern Hemisphere, granted). And for mobile tech fans, we know by now that summer means a fresh batch of new Samsung launches on their way. We've been hearing about the possibility of some July dates for Samsung's next Unpacked event, and now a new source weighs in with some specifics. Right now, we've got plenty of in-development Samsung hardware we're looking forward to. On the phone front, Samsung's been teasing its next wave of foldables, and beyond the Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7, we could also get to meet Samsung's first foldable built to be a little more affordable in the form of the Flip 7 FE. Then we've got Samsung's next wearables, with a new look for the Galaxy Watch 8 series expected to make its debut. We've also spotted evidence for some new Galaxy Buds models under development, and if those are ready to go, it would make all the sense in the world for Samsung to introduce them here. Last year Samsung threw its big summer launch on July 10, and that's a possibility once again. But so far we've only really heard that theory as bit of a vague 'doing the same thing' notion. Today, on the other hand, we're looking at a source who has some actual details. Noted leaker Evan Blass posts to X that Samsung will host its next Unpacked event on July 9, instead. Blass adds to that a 10AM Eastern start time, and while he doesn't share any visual assets to back that up, the extra detail does make it sound like this is less of a guess, and more something that might be based on actually seeing specific launch information. Of course, if any of these dates end up proving accurate, we'll likely know pretty soon, as Samsung tends to either confirm Unpacked plans itself in the weeks leading up to one, or we'd see formal invitations start leaking online. We might pencil in this July 9 date for the time being, but one way or the other, we should be writing down something in ink very soon. Got a tip? Talk to us! Samsung drops big Exynos 2500 news ahead of Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 launch
The Galaxy Unpacked event is fast approaching, and unless you've been living under a rock, you probably already have an idea of what Samsung is planning to launch at its big mid-year event. The spotlight is, of course, on the Galaxy Z series foldables, and if the leaks are anything to go by, they're set to get one of the biggest design upgrades we've seen so far. But there's something else that's got people talking — and it's to do with the Galaxy Z Flip 7. If recent reports are accurate, the phone could be powered by Samsung's own Exynos 2500 chip. And if that's true, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 might just come with a pretty big feature — emergency satellite per a press release by Skylo, the Exynos 2500 chip — which is expected to power the Galaxy Z Flip 7 — will support emergency satellite connectivity when you're out of mobile network range. The feature works through the Exynos 5400 5G modem inside the chipset, which supports NB-IoT NTN connectivity using low-earth orbit satellites. A few other phones already offer this feature, including Apple's iPhone 14, 15 and 16 series, and the Google Pixel 9 phones. Interestingly, the Pixel 9 series (excluding the Pixel 9a) also uses Skylo's satellite tech and the same Exynos 5400 5G modem, but built into Google's Tensor G4 back to the Unpacked event, Samsung is expected to launch a range of foldable phones and wearables. Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, we could also see the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE — the first Fan Edition foldable — and maybe even a new device called the Galaxy G Fold. If the leaks are accurate, this might be Samsung's most ambitious foldable yet, with a triple-fold design that could open up into a larger display. We haven't seen much confirmed information about this phone just yet, but its appearance at Unpacked would definitely be a big As for what to expect from the main foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumoured to get a much slimmer and lighter design, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 might come with a bigger screen and the new Exynos 2500 chip. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE could be Samsung's way of making foldables a bit more affordable, without removing too many key is also expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 8 series, which includes the standard Watch 8, the Watch 8 Classic, and the Watch Ultra 2. One of the biggest design changes here could be the new squircle shape — a square chassis and a round dial — which is expected across the entire range. The watches will likely run One UI 8 Watch, based on Wear OS 6.

Rumours are pointing to a July Unpacked launch, courtesy of Amazon and India Today coverage, and interest is peaking among flagship files and Galaxy veterans alike. These early glimpses suggest Samsung is pushing design boundaries—crafting a device that's slimmer, sleeker, and more elegant than its predecessors. What's more, whispers of advanced camera upgrades, One UI 8 with Android 16, and even a radical wider outer display are already capturing imaginations. Ready to uncover what makes the Z Fold 7 stand out? Read on for a peek at the next-gen foldable revolution. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 expected launch timeline Samsung enthusiasts should put the countdown on their calendars. Samsung appears prepared to unveil what may be its slimmest and most sophisticated foldable to date, led by the eagerly awaited Galaxy Z Fold 7, at its upcoming Unpacked presentation in July in New York City. A leak reveals a standing banner featuring the rumoured Galaxy Z Fold 7 ahead of the launch. Although Samsung has begun to tease the phone, the specifics are yet unknown. However, the ultra-slim design language is revealed by this leak. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 expected specifications Leaks and teasers have fueled mounting enthusiasm in the weeks preceding the premiere, even if official details are still being kept under wraps. Following the appearance of new pictures of a retail promotion stand on Reddit and the Korean forum DogDrip, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the show's star, has already caused a stir online. In comparison to the current Galaxy Z Fold 6, the images reveal a noticeably thinner design with a considerably smaller hinge, suggesting a significant redesign. According to preliminary estimates, Samsung has reduced the device's size to an astounding 4.5mm when completely open and just 9mm when folded, establishing a new standard for foldable thinness and addressing long-standing consumer complaints about large form factors. However, buzz is being created by more than simply the slimmer design. With hints of AI-powered camera improvements that might significantly increase shot quality, scene optimization, and real-time image processing, Samsung has been teasing its newest foldable across a number of platforms. Samsung is prepared to improve its camera even further as artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more prevalent in the smartphone market. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is anticipated to come with Qualcomm's most recent Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which promises better performance and more energy efficiency, in addition to design and camera enhancements. Additionally, Samsung's One UI 8 skin, which is based on Android 16, will be pre-installed on the device, providing customers with instant access to the most recent software updates. Also Read: Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 5G price drop alert: Get Titanium Gray, 12GB, 256GB storage at up to Rs. 55,000 discount Additionally, according to leaks, Samsung intends to release the Fold 7 in a variety of colours, including Coral Red, Silver Shadow, Blue Shadow, and Black. Options for RAM and storage include 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage, as well as a high-end 16GB RAM model with 1TB of internal storage. Samsung may broaden its foldable lineup to reach a wider audience by introducing the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and a less expensive Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE model at the same event as the Fold 7. Despite its many improvements, the Fold 7's price is anticipated to stay mostly consistent with that of its predecessor, maintaining the device's competitiveness. A slightly wider display aspect ratio and compatibility for Qi2 wireless charging are also rumoured, which could make multitasking and media consumption on the huge foldable screen even more effortless.
