F1 Rookie, 20, Raises Concerns as Alleged Attitude Problem Comes to Light at NYC 'F1' Movie Premiere: 'Not Stoked' originally appeared on Parade.
As F1 gears up to hit theaters on June 27, the 2025 Formula One grid is stepping out in style, ready to show their support at the F1 movie premiere in New York City tonight (June 16).
Well, maybe not the entire grid, as one F1 driver is facing controversy after seeming rather uninterested in the oh-so special evening: Visa Cash App Racing Bulls F1 Team rookie Isack Hadjar.
For those who are unfamiliar, F1 — directed by Joseph Kosinski, written by Ehren Kruger and starring Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, Javier Bardem and more — is a film centered around the life of Sonny Hayes (Pitt), a fictional F1 driver from 1990s who retired after a terrible accident, revisiting the racing world to join rookie Joshua 'Noah' Pearce (Idris) on the on the Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP).
While the movie itself looks nothing short of sensational, fans are equally as excited for cameos from their favorite F1 drivers, who will make brief appearances throughout F1: Max Verstappen, Sergio Pérez, Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz Jr., Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Valtteri Bottas, Zhou Guanyu, Nico Hülkenberg, Kevin Magnussen, Nyck de Vries, Daniel Ricciardo, Liam Lawson, Yuki Tsunoda, Logan Sargeant and Alex Albon.
Although he will not be featured in the film, Hadjar put on his finest fit to attend the F1 movie premiere, rocking an oversized brown suit that looked cool-as-can-be. He paired the blazer with a white Hugo shirt underneath, and to accessorize the outfit, the 20-year-old opted for a bold black watch, as well as some black-and-white sneakers.
While Hadjar certainly posed for some sexy solo shots, he also caught up with his Visa Cash App Racing Bulls buddies, snapping some photos with his teammate, Liam Lawson, as well as team principal Laurent Mekies and CEO Peter Bayer. How sweet is that?
Although Isack was all smiles in a majority of the photos from the F1 movie premiere, as mentioned previously, Formula One fans jumped to conclusions after the official Formula One Instagram account shared an image of the French driver looking rather grim.
"Why Hadjar looks sad bro 😭" one fan wrote in the comment section of the post, while others added "Hadjar did not wanna be there 💀" and "Isack was clearly not stoked to watch this movie again 💀"
"Someone check up on Hadjar and Lawson," a fourth fan wrote, looping his teammate into the allegationa as well.
Based on the rest of the photos and videos from the evening, we're going to go out on a limb and say that the official Formula One Instagram account caught Hadjar in a bad moment, but could there be more to the story? Needless to say, we will be obsessively refreshing social media for the rest of the evening for any further updates.
Hadjar aside, be sure to mark your calendars — F1 will hit theaters on June 27, and it is truly a must-see for Formula One fans everywhere.

Did the Commanders have luck on their side in 2024?
Luck was a big factor in the Washington Commanders' 2024 success. Sam Fortier of The Washington Post told John Keim on Keim's podcast why he felt the Commanders were recipients of much luck last year, resulting in their 12-5 season. Advertisement Fortier began by saying he wasn't even including the one-score wins late, nor the low number of injuries suffered in 2024. He explained something regarding what is termed a "Luck Dashboard." Explaining it includes four things: dropped passes by an opponent, dropped interceptions by opponents, a reasonably easy missed kick (field goal/PAT) and when either team recovers a fumble, Fortier told Keim the Commanders were the luckiest team in 2024 since this metric was recorded, beginning in 2022. Commanders fans will recall Malik Nabers' easy drop, which allowed Washington to win the Week 2 game against the New York Giants. Had Nabers made the routine catch, the Giants would have held the ball longer, and the Commanders would have had less opportunity to even their record at 1-1. Starting the year 0-2 was certainly more than possible, and yes, Nabers makes that catch the vast majority of the time. But for some reason, he dropped the pass against the Commanders, providing them an opportunity to score, and they did, defeating the Giants. Fervent Commanders fans will also recall that in the home win over the Eagles, Jalen Hurts, the Philadelphia quarterback, was injured in the first quarter, no doubt helping the Commanders' chances of winning the game (which they did). They will also recall that in the fourth quarter, Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith inexplicably dropped an easy reception, forcing the Eagles to kick a field goal. Had Smith made the easy reception, the Eagles would have maintained possession and chewed up much more of the clock on the Commanders. Advertisement Interestingly, Fortier told Keim that when he asked Commanders head coach Dan Quinn about luck, Quinn affirmed that he did indeed believe in luck. However, when Fortier asked starting center Tyler Biadasz, he responded, "I believe in five," referring to quarterback Jayden Daniels, of course. GM Adam Peters has worked hard to improve the roster, so perhaps this season the Commanders will not need as much luck as they were afforded in 2024.
