Fahmi Visits 46th ASEAN Summit International Media Centre
KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) here to inspect the 46th ASEAN Summit International Media Centre.
Upon his arrival, the minister was greeted by Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin and Bernama Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj.
Also present was Bernama Deputy Editor-in-Chief (Economic News Service) Azlina Aziz.
As the chair and host of ASEAN 2025, Malaysia will host the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits at the KLCC from May 26 to 27.
In conjunction with the summit, two key high-level meetings - the 2nd ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit and the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit will also take place, marking an important platform for expanded regional and inter-regional cooperation.
All these meetings are important platforms to expand regional and Global South cooperation.
As Kuala Lumpur gears up for the arrival of senior officials, ministers and heads of government, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has conducted security drills and simulations.
The ASEAN bloc consists of founding members Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.
The other members are Brunei, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar.

ISTANBUL, June 22 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed Saturday that the rights granted to nations under international law 'cannot be taken away through war and threats,' Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported. The Iranian president said in a call with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, that his country is ready for dialogue and cooperation to build confidence around its peaceful nuclear activities, but hastened to add that it will never accept demands to halt its enrichment programme, according to state-run Press TV. 'At the same time, our response to the Zionist regime's aggression will be even more forceful and resolute,' he said. 'Iran is prepared for negotiations to resolve issues, but any discussions or preconditions will only be accepted if they align with the rights and norms recognised under international law.'
