Singapore Delegation Visits Bernama To Boost Media Ties

KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama) -- A 28-member Singapore government delegation today paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) here, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations in the fields of media and communication. The delegation, led by Singapore government communications head Foo Kok Jwee, was received by Bernama deputy editor-in-chief of Economic News Service Azlina Aziz along with other senior officials of the national news agency. During the visit, Bernama also held a discussion with the delegation under Singapore's Third Advanced Communication and Engagement (ACE) programme to explain its role as the national news agency and to explore strategic cooperation opportunities.

Fahmi Visits 46th ASEAN Summit International Media Centre

KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) here to inspect the 46th ASEAN Summit International Media Centre. Upon his arrival, the minister was greeted by Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin and Bernama Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj. Also present was Bernama Deputy Editor-in-Chief (Economic News Service) Azlina Aziz. As the chair and host of ASEAN 2025, Malaysia will host the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits at the KLCC from May 26 to 27. In conjunction with the summit, two key high-level meetings - the 2nd ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit and the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit will also take place, marking an important platform for expanded regional and inter-regional cooperation. All these meetings are important platforms to expand regional and Global South cooperation. As Kuala Lumpur gears up for the arrival of senior officials, ministers and heads of government, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has conducted security drills and simulations. The ASEAN bloc consists of founding members Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines. The other members are Brunei, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar.
