Billionaire Andrew Tan's real estate investment firm Emperador Properties, listed on the Spanish stock exchange, has acquired full ownership of mixed-use urban complex Caleido in the Cinco Torres Business District in Madrid, Spain.
Covering a total area of 138,000 square meters, Caleido attracted over 5 million visits in 2024. It is home to the IE university, ranked as one of the top 10 universities across the globe with some 5,000 students, along with 35,000 square meters of parks, gardens, and green open spaces.
It houses some 20,000 employees within the Cinco Torres District and 8,000 employees at the La Paz University Hospital.

Spanish restaurant La Picara in BGC is taking a little break 'to change direction'

Hasta luego, La Picara. The popular Spanish restaurant in BGC has announced on social media that it's taking a little break "to change direction." "Exciting things are underway, but for now, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of our journey," La Picara wrote in a note card. "Your favorite La Picara taras, paellas, and drinks will be available until June 18th," it added, saying "we'd love to serve you one last time." La Picara opened in April 2019 on the 2nd Floor of One Bonifacio Highstreet Mall and quickly became the buzz of the town. Their inventive take on modern Spanish fare and delicious drinks quickly booked their tables for all seatings available, it became nearly impossible to get a reservation. La Picara bravely navigated the pandemic before finally deciding to take a little siesta. We're looking forward to what La Picara has in store. — LA, GMA Integrated News
